i must admit the square balcony is very big..i've seen other units with the square balcony!! gosh like a room! really can host bbq sessions there!! but it will also be the place where we hang our clothes too!!! not much hanging space in EMs...so indoor washing!

ya a corner EM is hard to come by! we really appreciate the spaciousness.... oh i saw your proposed layout! seems cool..esp the area for the new room and store...initially we thought of that too but scared will block the light from entering the staircase..meaning my staircase will be dark..unless i light up that area and make use of glass for that room and install curtains/blind when there is someone in there sleeping. but i not sure if the store is big enough to store things..at least must be able to fit someone inside to take things in and out... as for the staircase, it would be heart pain to hack away coz the staircase is also made of marble!! unless they hv spare tiles! ha u really like alfresco dining...my big space is conducive to hold parties...i also did think of hving a balcony and the possibility of having a bbq too. will keep your proposal in consideration..need to discuss with spouse! thanks for the suggestion!!!

ya thanks! i like my space too! hopefully my reno is smooth!! lots of things to consider...sink, cooker hood and hob, oven, cabinets, lightings, etc..

congrats on your start of your reno!!! may you have a smooth reno journey!!! oh the common toilet really cannot box up. i personally would not box up the pipes in the toilets. wood cannot tahan water. i dun wan to run the risk of dismantling the box up should anything happen such as leakage! choy! touch wood! hope it would not happen at all. no choice you have to live with it. at least ur MBR toilet dun hv such a problem!!

yeah the MBR faces the park behind....quite nice...windy at night also...NS facing..so no sun..we also contemplating whether to restore the balcony..hmmm hard decision..

oh yah need to buffer some extra time for rectifications...yours is considered major operation! wow 3D drawings??? cool! oh ya they need to go to the place to take actual measurements. carpentry is usually the last item. i dun mind seeking FS..but scared hv absurd requests like tilting the main door etc....hmm will discuss with partner if necessary to go for this. all these hv to b done b4 starting reno right? oh i think she is super excited to start the renovation. up to you. i've heard some pple gng into the new house after getting keys also hv to get 'auspicious' timing.

cool.where are you gng to mount it? on the inside of one of the cabinet like in the website?? quite cool! otherwise also dunno where to put those plastic bags. imagine i hv a cabinet to put all these plastic bags. what a waste of space! the designs of simplehuman are simple yet classy and sleek to make our kitchen modern looking yet eco friendly.

been lurking around in renotalk but not yet started to blog. onlly started when i figured how to upload my photos! oh yes it's a corner EM at 155 sqm. level 1 is def spacious. we were awed when we step inside. will have free play. but also headache. i cannot imagine having one toilet at L2. definitely has to restore to 2. but just that have to redesign. fun yet stressed!

Things to consider for reno: 1. Level 2: Flooring has to change. Either to parquet, laminated flooring or tiles. 2. Level 2: Wardrobe for MBR and Common Bedroom 3 3. Level 2: The combined toilet has to be redesigned. 4. Level 2: The room doors and toilet doors have to change. 5. Level 1: Marble flooring does not need to be hacked. The problem is the whole of level 1 flooring is marble including the kitchen and the marble side at the cooking area. Level 1 really has to plan! Space planning! 6. Level 1: Toilet will have to redo. 7. Level 1: Kitchen have to redo. 8. Level 1: Put back the room and make some space for storage. Possible location would be the existing dining area at the current layout. Problem: Will making the new room damage the marble flooring? 9. Level 1: Balcony: Currently no more balcony. It has been integrated into the kitchen. Should I restore? 10. Rewiring & painting for whole house.

Hi All, Finally started on our blog! We have bought our 1st EM in the north east. We have gone for our 1st appointment last week! I believe this is the 2nd generation EM. We have never lived in such a flat before! Really excited to be able to live in it. I will be posting on the current layout. Feel free to make comments. Initial floor plan Current layout (pardon me for the ugly drawing!) 1. Headache as we would like to have a room and storeroom at level 1 in case the elders come to stay with us. 2. Toilet wise at level 2: have to redesign. Current layout is only 1 toilet.
