All the IDs that I approached told me that it's not approved, but this ID told me that it's ok... Dunno who to believe.....
  3. MaCe, Sorry, another question.. You know for those downlights that are used for the L Boxes hor, which kind of bulbs do we buy? My ID quoted me $65 for the supply and installation of each light... Find it a little expensive...
  4. Oh... Hopefully the ant situation can be kept under control at my new place.. I'm at the top floor.. Dunno if the ants will climb in from the roof or something... Saw ants coming in from the window at a friend's place at the top of the floor....
  5. Hi MaCe, Do you have any recommendations when dealing with ants? The current place that I'm renting is filled with ants and I'd like to make sure that my new place is rid of ants~ Does the Kam Bong Yan help against ants too? I've searched around and many people recommend mixing Borax with Sugar to feed to the ants so that the Queen Ant can be eliminated... Can't seem to find Borax on our shelves though... Those ant traps that are sold in the supermarkets doesn't seem to work though.. There are still ants crawling around the place...
  6. I think I'm immune to all the planes liao.. I've been staying in the area for the past 13 years.. My parents place is opposite the former Boon Lay Garden Primary School... The worst time is around July where there's numerous rehearsals for the impending NDP... Well, look at it this way, we are one of the first to see the planes before the rest of the country sees it on their TV sets during NDP~
  7. Shutiao, Can you please share your quotation too? I'm sorry to ask for it here, but your PM is full...

  9. Can anyone share their ID/Contractor's contacts? My budget's around 12K for a 5rm premium flat too...
  10. haroldism, Would you please share your contact for your ID and also the total damage? I've collected my keys for a month liao, the BSC guys still doing the rectification.... Searching for IDs/Contractors to do up our house... Your place is **** NICE!! Our budget's pretty low though.... Gotta build up bit by bit with my WTB...
  11. Junxian, have you found your ID/Contractor? I'm from JW St 64 as well...
  12. My new house is like 5 mins walk from my parent's place. Can have dinner at my parents place before dropping over. Can use that place as my work/study place since my parent's place is pretty noisy. Plan is to move over in late 2009. Maybe early 2010. So still have around 2 years to play around with. So my plan is to get the basics in, so that I can reuse them as much as possible when I move back in. I wonder if I can get some kitchen cabinets stuff at Ikea.. Awesome! I'll drop by Hoe Kee for the kitchen sink on stainless steel pedestal to check out the costs. And also the kitchen cabinets at those furniture shops too! Yea, like what you said. Building the cabinets is pretty affordable, it's the removal that costs a BOMB. I'm just afraid that the tenants will not take care of the place, hence I dun wanna get the cabinets installed. Else if they trash the place, then it's another big hole down the pocket! Hahah.. Like what we all learn during NS. Do whatever you want, just don't get caught. The 8 most precious words that I learnt during those 2.5 yrs.
  13. I'm planning to keep the renovation simple first and have it done it up properly the second time round when I shift in after the dinner... I'll have to lock one of the rooms to comply with the renting rules. The main concern is in the kitchen side, for I do not wish to spend excessively on the kitchen. Any suggestions on the kitchen sink part? Will get the basic applicances like the washing machine etc...
  14. Oh yeah yeah.. You are absolutely right! It's the kitchen sink
  15. Hey guys, Need to seek your expertise and experience on this... I'm collecting the keys to my new HDB flat in Boon Lay, however, due to my current financial situation, I can only afford to hold the wedding dinner in 09. Hence, my wifey and I have decided to rent out the house first, so that we can collect some rent to add to our savings. The flooring is already done for my unit and from my understanding, the basins have to be installed by ourselves. Anyone knows what are the basics to get the unit in a rentable condition? Gotta start budgeting for the renovation works and get it rented out ASAP... - Washing Basin - Air Con - Water Heater - Lights?? (Don't think lights are pre-installed)
