  1. Pm-ed. No particular reason behind it, but just because the electrician is my wife's uncle.
  2. Ordered my Rinnai hob and Bosch built-in oven today. Was uber lucky to be able to get my hands onto the Rinnai model me and my wife wanted. The whole island-wide out of stock and I had to call each and every store to check on its availability. Lucky one of the store still has the very last piece in their store. Self-collected it and brought it to place in my new house, at the same time take the opportunity to check on the reno works progress. Cement screed completed for the whole unit! Elevated platform for washing machine, and shifted electrical power socket to a more strategic location. Cement sink support with tiles to prevent damages from dripping water in future. This part is **** important, I strongly recommend everyone to take note on this to prevent water dripping problems causing wood to rot and attract termites.. My Rinnai Gas Hob! Pretty hot model I guessed, since it's out of stock islandwide! Will only re-stock earliest by mid-may 2017.
  3. My Mitsubishi Starmex Aircon are here! Wrapping up the aircon units to prevent dust from getting into them while other works carry on. In the meantime, other cons are doing up my subway tiles in the kitchen. From far they look like normal plain tiles, but they actually have some interesting and intricate designs on each of 'em. My wife likes 'em that's why we choose 'em. I mean, the kitchen's gonna be her playground eventually, so....
  4. overlaying of toilet tiles are done. damnnn I just love the color contrast. tiles are from Hafary (Wildwood Dark Grey and Beige)
  5. Spot on! Thanks! Its Blanco (Germany brand, manufactured in Asia), from Hoe Kee, surprisingly they are the only distributor in SG that brings in the brand.
  6. Took half-day leave to do a little check on the progress. Kitchen sink and faucet delivered. Overlaying of MBR toilet tiles
  7. Cement screed ingredient has been delivered. Awaiting for the cement screed to commence tomorrow. View of the door-size opening being cut out for the walk-in wardrobe MBR Toilet basin, mixer and popup waste were also delivered today! Loving the matte-black basin mixer from Rubine.

  10. Finalised 3D Designs are finally out, after several changes to colors and laminate choices. Only 90% satisfied here. Living Room To be honest the cabinet door laminate I'm still not very satisfied here. Anyone has any advice? Kitchen Walk-in Wardrobe MBR Toilet
  11. Estimated to be around 2k. It's an amount I'm willing to fork out after much and long consideration. I've heard HDB contractors not screeding evenly and stuff. Save the trouble later not done properly blame here blame there haha.
  12. After some considerations, we decided to withdraw from HDB cement screeding and go for E's (main con) cement screeding instead. Will be easier to coordinate and the laying of vinyl and cement screed will be fully be under their responsibility. I.e. no other party to complain or held accountable if cement screeding is not done evenly that subsequent affects the resilient vinyl laying.
  13. I see. Actually my estate came with all default RJ-45 ports (for CAT 6 cables) on the walls by default.
  14. They never really gave me a call to confirm the approval. Until recently I just called the HDB branch to check on the status, they say they are awaiting for my temporary lock access so they can schedule the HDB cons to go down for measurement.
  15. perks of not having opt-ed in for hdb default tiles haha. I won't say very drastic, cos some I leave them be, some I change from single to pair sockets etc. In terms of switching points location, maybe 40% of them?
  16. Ceiling casing you mean the ceiling beam casing? If it is, I do have one in my living room
  17. Electrical works commences! My appointed electrician is no other than my wife's very own Uncle, Mr Ong (Let's call him O from now on). Relation plays a very significant role here as it makes communication much easier, not to mention the quotation as well. O is very professional, not only does he listens and understands all my requests, he also gave alot of good advises and ideas on the practical as well as aesthetic aspects of the electrical points. Fortunately my flat does not comes with the default tiles. As you can see, many of my sockets, CAT6 data points and even TV points can be ran on the floor. Subsequently, HDB cement screed will cover them all! Brilliant idea from E and O.
  18. Late post here. Renovation work commenced on 16th March! Not the full-scale commencement though, just a small ceremony to signify the start of renovation (yes the date was auspiciously selected , pantang here ) Bedroom 2 wall hacked (into a small hole) to link MBR to bedroom 2.
