Wow I like your shoe cabinet. Is it at the entrance of the door?
-
Yah he's getting me all confused too! He realy cannot make it!!!
-
Ytday he called and clarified again that it's not burmese parquet that's in my flat now. But Indo. Wah lau eh. Dunno which is the truth and which is not.
-
yah i know mr tan from HDB. He insisted that it was Burmese parquet when we met up with him few weeks ago and he mentioned the replacement can only be Indo. Anyway, I've complained to HDB branch office. Will see how they'll solve the matter. !!

It's the 400x400 tiles. Same as the living room ones but the colour isn't 100% same cos they said there's no more stock or similar stock of the living room tiles. The colour isn't that obvious. And he mentioned that skirting for entire living room will be $250. But I'm rather upset and irritated cos Mr Tan only allowed 2 rooms of parquet to be hack off and replace with indonesian parquet. The thing is... whatever is in the house now is burmese parquet. Indo ones look totally different. So I will end up with MBR having burmese ones, and BR1 and BR2 having indo ones. Then I asked them if they can find burmese parquet, they said NO. This Mr tan is quite crappy lah.. he said in the market now only Indo parquet. WTH??? I've checked with some parqeut specialist leh.. Burmese ones still exist. Isn't this sorta like forcing me to pay do tiling in my rooms and they can save their cost on replacing the parquet??? This issue has been delayed for about 1 months.. since I gotten the key in March. This is so frustrating!!! I dunno when my reno works can start and 1st Aug is the start of the lunar 7th month already!

Ah xiang offered a $2500 package to do homo tiles for my 3 rooms. Has anyone used him to lay tiles in rooms? Is the workmanship good? I haven't really check out the market rate for tiling so not sure if 2.5k for 3 rooms is reasonable. My ID quoted 3.3k earlier.

Jurong West St 64 Residents - (july 07 Ballot)
roseberry replied to piggiedearz's topic in District 16, 17,18, 19
This is abit out of topic but.... HDB release it's Bi-monthly sales today and they are selling the remaining units in our St 64 at a higher price. Seems like a good sign especially after the govt has announced the plans for the future Jurong. !! -
aye I forgot to take picture of the Indo parquet otherwise can post here and compare. It's really quite a shock when I saw it. Totally turn off compare to the current ones in all our units now.

My parquet flooring is not levelled and the officer and Ah Xiang have taken the readings of the levelling. I've no photos to share cos the uneven levelling is hard to capture on camera. Anyway, this Mr Tan said he can only allow to hack of BR1 and BR2. MBR is still within BCA allowable limit. Then he warned us that the new parquet flooring is from Indonesia instead of the original ones which were Burmese parquet. Then I was wondering.. if he hack of BR1 n BR2 and replace with the Indonesia wood, then wouldn't my MBR loook like a total mismatch with BR1 n BR2?

I've met the HDB officer and contractor again this morning. As there's problem with my parquet and has proposed to hack off, the officer brought us to a unit to view that owner's newly done parquet but it's veyr different from the original ones we have and it's quite horrible looking. Has anyone got their parquet re-done? Does the HDB contractor have only 1 type of parquet?

Hi muffin! How much does your PD doors cost?

bpheng : how did you diy your switches? Can teach me how? THanks!

I'm engaging the service of a "design and build" company so I don't know if that's considered an ID. So far what I see, it's more of a contractor except that they do provide ideas and suggestions. No beautiful 3D models just sketches.

I'm trying to get them to hack off all the parquet in the rooms. I don't see any reason why they have to polish till it's flat.....it's the concrete layer that's not levelled underneath the wood. Hope they'll really do lit la.

I just received my quote from my contractor but realised the kitchen is quite expensive. Can I have some advise? Here's the kitchen quote: - To design and fabricate top and base unti kitchen cabinet in 15mm solid ply, selected laminate finish for external carcass - Proposed white pvc finish for internal carcass - Doors in laminated and abs trimming - 2 pcs selected aluminium profile glass door in sandblasted glass @ $120/ft run Base unit - 13 ft $1560 Top unit - 13 ft $1560 Tall unit - 1 set $480 Supply and install spray paint glass - 1 pc $950 Supply and install Corian solid surface and selected profile for base unit of kitchen cabinet and backsplash at kitchen cabinet at $80/ft - 13 ft $1755 So overall kitchen itself is like $5k++ already. I've seen my friend's kitchen done by them, very good carpentry and internal fittings said to be from germany...looks very classy. But it is too ex? Please give me some advice. Thanks!

The HDB officer came to inspect the defects yesterday. There were 2 persons - 1 uncle whom i presume is the HDB officer and another young chap called Ah Xiang who is the contractor. Most of my defects are the common ones like dirty grouting/ main door expanded etc. Until I told them about the buldging of the parquet in BR2 n BR3. This HDB officer kept saying it's like that one. Everyone else got this problem. Then he said they will at most polish again to flatten out the centre buldge. But oh man! The parquet floorings are so obviously buldging out and he said it's ok one! I told them it's the levelling problem so there's no point polishing the wood layer again! After inspecting, they said they will get back to me. But any idea how long they will take to get back to me? Should I complain to HDB and get them to rectify the problem?

This is so useful! It's really quite easy. I saw those solar film company doing for my hubby's car and thought workmanship is so easy yet they charges so high. Chey!

If I want to change the doors of my bathrooms to folding type ones, can I just like buy from places like sim siang choon then get them to install for me or ask my contractor to do? I'm soon starting my reno but about blur about what stuffs I can buy myself instead of thru contractor.
-
!! I would love to!
-
I have very obvious bulging parquetin BR2 n 3. Will the HDB officers be able to hack off them? I'm meeting them next week.
-
Crazygirl48: You are staying on the 14th at 676B too? then that wil make us neighbours!
-
You are quite lucky ...my kitchen tiles are pale yellowish. I rather have pink than pale yellow. I'm at 676B.
-
oh yes i think the skirting is just a thin layer of wood. The skirting so ugly man!
-
bpheng: I'm at Blk 676B. !! ranval9, applefreak: My living room is ok but the bedrooms 2 and 3 are not. The parquet in the centre of both rooms are obviously bulging outwards. When I step into the room, I get this giddy feeling lor. Hopefully HDB can just remove all the timble portions in the house la anyway I'm planning to do homo tiles over the house.
