  10. Updates on Ceiling Fan & Accessories Hoe Kee Superstore. First stop for us as I parked nearby. Went in to see see look look for sinks. Didnt really have much collection of sink for our liking and those that we like were too **** big. We wanted something like below 700mm in length. But then, there were lots of bathroom accessories to choose from. We took some time looking and selecting in mind what we wanted and then left for Poh Joo. In Poh Joo, the first sink in display caught my attention. Poh Joo @ 159 Jln Besar is not really well arranged and stocked. Thankfully, we had a nice chinese girl attending to us. Eventually, bought a sink, Rubine 600mm @ $100/- , the tap which we regretted later and the Ariston AA25L storage heater. Wanted to get every single thing from there but their accessories do not have much variety as compared to Hoe Kee's. Then LL went back to Hoe Kee to get all the accessories lor.. Then come the ceiling fan part, with recommendations from ppl here, I went around to look at ceiling fans around the Jln Besar area. First stop, Royal Fanco. They sell quite a number of fans from Amascon, Elmark and Fanco in catalog. LOL In actual form, there is only about 7 fans on display. The staff in that shop, one uncle and one aunt are not very service oriented and didnt even bothered much to serve me. Seconf Stop, Tai Yong Electric. TONS OF FANS ON DISPLAY! But too crowd la...macham like time illegal immigrants being packed like sardines. This also lead to fans being on display and not being able to be tested for the fan speed/power. The uncles inside were also not keen to serve us, probably due to the fact that we were there about 540pm and they were closing at 6pm. No service? Go lor. Bye bye. Last stop. Place of Lights, recommended by keltong. Went there and was surprised that it is still open at 6pm+. Went in and was served by a nice talkative but service oriented guy which I later got his name as Steven. Shown us many fans and we slowly took our time to see them. The place is nicely arranged with all fans properly placed in view and powered so that we can test the fan power. I then remembered the $110 fan mentioned in the forum and took a look at that Amascon fan. 48" fan with option light kit. He highly recommended this fan BUT there are not much colors in stock for it. Only Antique, Silver and white. Next fan caught our eye was the Fanco 52" fan. Costed $200 w/o remote. Its a five wooden bladed fan, with blades in a oval shape like leaves. After much looking around, we decided to just take this fan. He told us the $200 already best price liaos and I also didnt bothered to neg more. Was really tired and just wanna settle all the fan things and since we already see what we like, $200 is not much to pay for. Just got it lor. Lets hope when the fan arrive it is working properly....
  11. As I am quite tall and have back problems, I am looking for high backs sofa in Half leather. No Budget for full leather. Just did a round at White Collection at Balestier. In fact, I was looking at recliners. Looked at recliners at Mr Decor in IMM before and was attacted by them. Then again, I am afraid that the recliners cannot recline properly as the coffee table will be blocking. Got to go and check my layout again for this. Really? I guess that will probably be what everyone will be doing bah... unless they prefer cove lightings. I didnt choose cove lightings cos the cove area seems like a cove for xiao chang and family.
  12. Photos update! - Ceiling Works Done + Citigas + Piping Layout of the ceiling works drawn on my wall! Didnt manage to catch the workers in action as I was very busy for the past few days. From the words, I guess the workers are either Singaporeans, Malaysians or Chinese? View of the rear speaker wires and the places where the rear speakers will be. Hmmm, wire they leave are definitely long enuff for the speakers. View of speakers from rear coming to the front. Didnt take the coil of wires below. I think the electrican cut too short a length of wire...... Give them one whole roll of wire they still so stingy???? Now if not long enuff then got to join the wires already... View of the L Box and the place where my ceiling fan will be at!! View of the false ceiling from the L box area towards the foyer area. My curtain pelmet at the living room!! My additional headboard due to the UGLY aircon trunking! WASTE $$$! Pipiing done for sink! Citigas piping done!! Both piping are quite nicely done, the tiles are not really chipped off badly. Good work done! And my lights from Chelsea lighting!! Still in box though......I WANT TO SEE THEM IN ACTION!!
  13. Wah, I also tot the retiling is free........ 2.5K?!?!? =X

  16. Is a master in any case worth it? I am also doing a master degree now and it is structured in a way which has an intensive week but still i have to be doing my job. I do need to say that doing my masters, preparing marriage, monitoring reno and keeping up with the same standard of work is tough but possible. Like what my big boss told me, yes you can take the masters, but do note that having this masters does not necessary mean faster promotion or better pay increments. Your time management will be tested to the limits as you still have to produce the same standard and quality of work whilst embarking on the master's course. If your work quality declines, you might even be promoted slower. In the end, i still took up the challenge as my aim is to acquire more knowledge on that field. MBA? I will think about it...after i finish my current technical masters...
  17. This is very true!! Observe what your snr mgmt is doing and follow their style and incorporate your own.
  18. keltong & applefreak: Which fan you got and from where? How much does it cost? Now I am still thinking whether to get a ceiling fan for the living room or not.
  19. Wiring Pictures Update View of wiring done in my living room. Quite standard work for a contractor but nonetheless, rather neat. KEC also came over and gave us a roll of speaker cables for running in the false ceiling and L box. Not very good service leh. Clarence told me the person will measure to length and cut for us. Now the person just leave the whole drum in the house for my ID to use as he please. We also told him that to get a subwoofer cable for us cos the cable will be penetrating the console out to the platform.
  20. Have fun in doing reno!
  21. But I doing platform bed mah...so that place obstructing my leaning position, then LL got to put some headboard or what there.
  22. Aircon Trunking Running (1st Visit) Hong Tar guys came over to do the air con piping layout today. Overall, I am ok with the workmanship, could be improved, but not happy with the layout of the pipe routing. Then again, there is no way to run the pipes already. And there are some doubts I have on the installation. See below.... View of the left side of the wall when I enter the MBR. I dun understand why the piping is concealed inside and they do not leave extra outside??? View of the piping running at the bottom of the MBR! Two big fat casing at the place that I am having my platform and also to lean back. Now got to get my ID to do some box up so that it will be comfortable again. WASTE MONEY! Sad sad thing. View of it going through to the outdoor. View of the outside of the aircon ledge. Close up of guest room piping. I do not understand why the two copper pipe is squeezed into one insulation?!??!?! Is that the NORM??? I questioned them and they say its like that one. Advice anyone?? View of the study room. SO GOOD!! Back to back and zero casing can be seen.
  23. What appliance you tokking about? Which shop will you recommend for me to purchase my TV?? They mix the cement with the pebbles. This pebble is the mixture of sharp and round ones, I should have gotten the rounds ones instead. haiiizzz
