I am looking at getting some nice dustbins. Was actually intending to get the 20L butterfly dustbin (cant believe I actually wanted to spend $180 on a dustbin) but I think the dustbin too big for a normal plastic bag from NTUC or giants and the 6L round step bin looks a tad too small too. I saw that they have the 12L round bins from the back of the boxes but they were sold out at Marina Square outlet. Any other place with a good range of simple human bins or can some one introduce other stylish/nice dustbins?

I am not afraid if the town council quote me. I mean they have to be reasonable and "automatic". If it is just some small items, of course I will not complain, but for me its the entire stretch. I wanted to start to do my own checking of meters, but now how? Move their clothes aside meh? What if they say I dirty their stuff or steal their things? I rather make things clear and draw a line. -

Same thinking I have. This is what they have managed to put outside just within days of moving in. I cannot imagine what will be coming after months they have stayed there. So I do not think there is any point for me to talk. I told my wife to talk to them cos I am the kind that cannot talk peacefully when I am already irritated but she refused so I send complain to HDB and Town Council about this already. I used to come home happy to my beautifully renovated place but now I got to pass by first, a growing forest near the chute, then cleaning shop with all kinds of laundry hanging and then to smelly shoe racks while I open my main gate. WTF. I am having a freaking kampong outside my place. -

Be it hazard or not, it is VERY UNSIGHTLY! Just merely 3 footsteps from my main door all the way to the rubbish chute is their stuff... Just took a photo of it... See their clothes just hanging there and I am passing by all the way and their racks just right outside my gate!!! If this can happen, I believe there will be worse coming... -

At first, it was only the two bamboo pole holders and the bamboo poles placed RIGHT across the access to the electrical and water meters. I was like, OK, nvm, the most I dun check it so often and I can still live with it. The very next day, they put SHOE RACKS IN FRONT OF MY DOOR. WTF. And plants all across the corridor. ITS A MESS of the common areas. Say I am mean or whatever, but I cannot take all this crap. Either HDB gives me a reply on the usage or I complain right up whatever place I can pen my messages to. -

I am getting irrtated with my new neighbour that just moved in. Nevermind the noisy rowdy kids (cant help it), but they are occupying the entire common area!!!! Mine is a corner unit and theirs is just beside me. They have started to put THREE racks just in front of my main door, which is just outside of their window, causing me inconveience when I am going back or coming out cos I need to avoid those racks to get to my door. Then they put bamboo poles right at the place where the electrical risers, meters are taking up space in the corridor. Further to that they have placed plants after these bamboo poles, ie near to the common chute area and they place the money plant to crawl along the railings!!!! WTF. I have written to HDB to enquire on the guidelines of usage of common areas and my legal rights against such inconsiderate use of common areas. They think they own the whole corridor!!! -
Help! Samsung 40" Tv Is Not That Clear After All. What's Wrong? :(
NiVleK replied to ene's topic in Electronics & Electricals
contrast ratio does not equate to picture quality. LCD TV will always look worse than plasma TV which will look worse than CRT TV for free to air channels. To get better TV reception, get a upscaler or a HD set top box. -
I got the gate lock + holder for close to $100 and their products are well made. So no complains on the price. =)

Honestly, after sleeping here for a week plus, I have not heard any plane noise. LOL But yeah, now I close my windows, not too used to it, probably cos my curtains are not brought yet... -

Just simply traffic noise. I hear cars and especially buses which I dun for the past few decades of my life but I think I am getting used to it..... I am at 678D which faces the smaller road. I did not take the units at the blocks facing the chinese temple cos of the big main road and the many trucks passing by...but now I wonder if I made the wrong choice cos I think those units are a little futher from the road. -
Hmmm, you added a false wall at the slanted part?

Yups! Nice curtains!!! Where you get ah...and that is a huge roman curtain in the living!! haha

Any recommendation for curtain makers?? I already more or less moved in, except for those items I am slowly shifting from my parents place to my new place. One thing I still cannot get used to is the traffic noise!! It was really unbearable at first, I did not know that it can be so noisy even though I am not staying on the low floors. My parents place is quite secluded and the nearest road is a open space carpark. Now that my window looks towards the road, the noise is just OMG. Guess got to get used to it... -
Can share where u get ur landry bag? Want to find one... and yours looks quite nice

I personally think that there is nothing we can do about that as we are not allowed to drill holes on the walls to conceal the wiring and the points.

Ok. First of, I am gamer at heart, was a hardcore one, now due to work, studies and family committments, I cut that down tremendously. I have all the video consoles available now. How I connect them? Presently I have a AVR, its an old onkyo, cant remember the model. My XBOX, Wii, Xbox360, DVD player connects via component to it and the AVR outputs component to my 32" TV in my bedrm. The PS3 connects via HDMI directly to the tv but digital sound goes back to AVR. Decades ago, I connect using a switcher, that time no component TV so all max is S-Video, I just simply connect using a 5 S-Video Switcher. Coming soon, at my new place, I got myself a budget AVR, the Onkyo 606. With 4 HDMI in and 1 out, its really plentiful. HDMI Inputs 1) PS3 2) HD Set top box 3) DVD Recorder 4) Empty TV Side HDMI Input 1) For the occasional connection to my laptop via HDMI Component Input 5) Xbox360 6) Wii All output through HDMI to my TV. Hope this helps.

Its ok la. My 400D is upgrade from my 300D which was my first DSLR (used to play with EOS 300 film). But sadly, after I upgrade to 400D, I stopped much photography. Its ironical that when I was having 300D and carrying haversacks of lenses + 2 bodies + one freaking heavy tripod + external flash, I was complaining that I dun have a license to drive.. but I still go out every week to take photos Now that I drive, I am lazy. Hahhaa. My usual setup is just a body w/o batt kit and a general walkabout lens (18-200) LOL Yeah. But I dun need such a good body la. Honestly my current 400D is enuff la, just that I gian the live view (good for idiot proofing) and the FINAL change to able to use SD cards in budget bodies.

First things first, even if the lady was shouting free XXXXX with purchase now doesnt make any "legal" sense unless you have it in black and white. So in short to answer your question, did you check the invoice carefully and make sure that it is the FULL HD model written and subsequently sold? If this is correct and they deliver another model, you will win 100%. If you have just blindly listen to some bimbo rants who might not even know the difference between FULL HD and HD ready, and sign on the invoice, then all I can say is sorry. There will be very low chance you will win the case, unless a dozen other people with the same issues are surfacing this.
