Saying Hi! to all those that has still been around since 2007/2008. Wow. It has been years since I posted in this forum. And much to my surprise, my old Reno t-blog chat is still around! Most of the photo's link is down and no more photos to be seen at that T-blog chat. Starting this new t-blog chat to document my process of planning, selecting an ID and the process of moving my home of 10 years in the Western part of Singapore to the Northern part of Singapore. Not going to reveal where is my new place exactly until much later.

Jurong West St 64 Residents - (july 07 Ballot)

Long time no post!!! Ppl in this area please take note of that persistent uncle that KEEPS KNOCKING on the door to introduce his welding. This uncle looks dubious though I am quite sure that he will not do anything funny. His shoe even have a hole that can see the toe. There is no concrete proof that non welded gates are more breakable than welded gates. Does a thief go round the block and look for non welded gates? In our blocks, the design are such that there is not much of a blind spot. I am in the corner unit and yet when I open my gate, I can see lots of other unit's main gate. There is also the issue of warranty and claiming if there is tampering of the hinges. $80 for some simple welding that I could properly do better? Nah. -
Wah. You have patience. I gave up waiting for HDB rectification cos even after their "rectification" I am still not satisfied. I even told them that my company workers can do a better job than them. I am hoping to only stay at my present place for 5 years max. Looking for a new apartment....

I am at lost. Why do people believe in Feng Shui? I am not discriminating against people who do, but are there reasons that compel you to do so? Are there really benefits in arranging your house in a certain way, buying/painting colors that should be YOUR color, putting things in places that should increase your wealth/luck/love, blocking things, hacking walls, etc. Are there any scientific backing to this? Please enlighten me. Do you believe in Feng Shui? If yes, why? If no, why not?!?! For starters, I am not a believer of Feng Shui. I do recall once when I was much younger, I will just simply walk away or not pay attention when people starts to talk or discuss about things that do not make sense to me (Religion, customs, Fengshui, etc etc). Now, I want to start to appreciate another part of life. The non scientific part.

Cpf Vs Monthly Installments

Actually, for new couples buying the new AMK or Boon Keng flats, the prices there are crazy! $500K -$600K? OMG! -
Is It Normal To Be Charged For Dismantle Cost Of Unwanted Wardrobe?
NiVleK replied to ikitty's topic in Carpentry Works
Despite that lengthly explanation, I still think that $500 is too much for simply dismantling. Malaysian workers are not even that highly paid. Normally IDs will have already included a haulage fee somewhere. -
Thanks for the many suggestions. I did finally went over yesterday but did not consulted my friend about it. I thought hard and think that I should be at least there to pay respects and to see how he is doing. I am so glad that I went and saw that he is ok. But it felt strange as I dunno what to say. (I have NEVER went to a wake, except my own grandmother's) I can feel his sorrow and I know it hurts. But, some of my other friends still can joke around which I do not feel comfortable joking in such solemn event. Life is fragile, treasure it.

Problem is like what I have said, I am a non-believer of chinese customs and religion. So I did not have my tea ceremony (yet) and we will not have a wedding dinner. But I am afraid that my friend's family will mind. How how?

One of my best friend's mum just passed away. I just had my ROM on 8th August 08. I have people telling me that for chinese beliefs, I should not attend the wake. Can anyone advise if it is true? I am clueless about religions (as I do not follow customs and beliefs) I hope to be there for him as a friend but I am afraid I might be not respecting since there is this belief?

If I am a multi-billionaire, I will not leave my assets to my children. I want them to know the hardships of life to earn that and I will keep the assets in a managed fund till an age when I determine that I can let them have the money.

HAHAHA. My wife also say that to me too. I am a fast sleeper and deep sleeper and on the contrary, my wife is a light sleeper and she needs quite some time before falling asleep. I can go from awake to deep sleep in seconds. LOL I guess this is probably training after NS and my career where I try to squeeze all available time for naps.

Do You Literally Pay For Your Renovator's Mistakes?
NiVleK replied to cabletie's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
My rule of the thumb is, if I didnt ask for it and if you want to do it, you have to ask me first. Only when I agree, then I will pay for it. If you act smart and do extra because you think that it is better, then be prepared I cut your price or not pay at all. This applies to whether I like it or not. True that they need to make a living, but I am not a carrot on a chopping board. I also need to make a living to pay them. -
My parents are at blk 10X. I love mansionettes but too bad, HDB is not building them anymore. What a pity. Think it will turn out nice! PP is a nice place to stay, very close to the city area if you are the shenton/orchard working ppl.

Nice! My parents house is in Potong Pasir. This is the first time I get to see how the inside actually looks like! You should be on the last level of the building since I can see the slanting ceilings. Very nice! How much did you get the flat for?
