Overall, in my opinion renovating a house doesnt need to have complicated or fanciful design - whichever suits your budget. An empty house may look beautiful if you know how to maintain the house well. My previous house was renovated with a budget less than 10k in 2005 and that house was well maintained for the next 12yrs. Buyers that came to view was surprised and even asked how I manage. Side track: 😂 Adopt! Dont buy! Pumpkin was saved from an abusive breeder.

I have friends following my kitchen idea but after a year or so they have problems with storage. I have told them many times I do not keep unnecessary stuff and that I am a meticulous person. What may be apt for me, may not be for you. And whoever place stuff on the table top will get yelling from me 😬😬 Such an eyesore. Lucky for me both my kids turn out to be just like me! Fastidious 😆😆😆

Girl’s room: As she gets older, she hates the colour when infact she was the one debating with me insisting of having bright red + blue + green + yellow all in! “Mammy, Im a colourful person, my life is full of colours!!!” 👈 I will never forget this 😂 Will do something to her room during school holidays…. Have always wanted to do shiplap. Then change wall colour.

Ariston slim storage heater died on me twice within 3years. I cursed it so much because it left rusty stain on the floor. But thank god the stain is not permanent. I have since changed to a barrel type. My simple common toilet: No regrets of not having any carpentry done here. Its not practical in my opinion, plywood mix with water gives you mould. And that glass! Really need to wash it at least once a week or it will leave soap scum

Its been awhile since I last visited this page. Apology to those who dm me but didnt get any reply as I was super tight revising together with my eldest who was sitting for his PSLE that year. I thought of updating my house after 6yrs of stay so I could look back here one day of the memorable journey. My house hasnt gone any much changes except alittle bit of here and there… From this… To this…. Then this… And now this 😅 Waiting for my cats to scratch that 2-seater sofa so that I can dump it. Too much stuff already. My house everyday without light. I will only on it when husband is around because I am astigmatic.

@KFC1189 yes will need to repaint but only at affected areas of service balcony, to be done by hdb. Kitchen ceiling - i got to paint myself. Hdb is taking forever to send a contractor over, its making my ceiling worst. I felt like an Ah Long chasing after them

Close up kitchen So in the end did I get to archieve that clean white look that I’ve always dream of? NO! All thanks to my husband who’s more of a dark colour person - Black study sliding door, black quartz, black fridge, black stove, black chimney hood, no white sofa... Okay, this was what happened yesterday... I thought the sanitary pipe leaks again. Called Town Council, the same plumber came. He touched the ceiling and showed me his palm. It was wet! He then told me to on all the lights. He started pointing on the ceiling. That’s when I realised there’s water mark stains.... and some on the kitchen! So this morning, the HDB officer called to update that he had checked the above unit. He mentioned something about their washing machine pipe. So since its connected to my pipe, I will need to pay $150 max. HDB 50%, another 50% split between both party. The above unit also has agreed to hack off their two toilet. This I do not need to fork out any cent. But they want the work to start only after hari raya. And hari raya is ONE MONTH! So I requested if they can have their pipe fix first on a weekday. Hoping they’re okay with that, don’t tell me there will be guest coming everyday

Plumber came to rectify the crack. Was informed this normally happen due to wear and tear of an old hdb flat. Plumber also informed me that he suspect above unit is leaking. So i told him to look at the ceiling outside the toilet window panels. Then he went like, “Aiyoh! Confirm upstair leak. Call hdb faster faster.” I’ve already called and emailed hdb but still no follow up. It’s been a month plus. Keep telling me someone will arrange for an appoinment. Kind of frustrating. So plumber told me he will help to get Town Council to call the hdb officer in charge directly. And voila! One hour later, someone from hdb called! Hdb officer came down in the afternoon. Did a test on service yard, kitchen and toilets ceiling and confirmed upstair unit is leaking. Sigh! * anyway, my messenger is working now

Lately I noticed there’s dark water flowing down the sanitary pipe area. Didn’t bother much before but somehow this morning I decided to check. Found a small crack. Called town council and they arranged for a plumber to come in the afternoon.

Reno completed in a month ✔️ Doesn’t mean early completion is a major red flag. Very hands on Pakcik was here every day. (Well, he’s not really that old lah.. maybe early 50s?) Within budget ✔️ No gst ✔️ No delay ✔️ Pics taken during night time: I’ll start off with living/ dining area That old sofa has got to go, it’s suppose to be in my son’s room but it can’t fit in through the door...
