Hi all. Had been busy checking for defects. Got my keys on the 25th of Feb and had been busy spotting the defects. Major rectification to be done by HDB: 1. Sand and varnish all three bedrooms. 2. Replace hollow tiles and uneven tiles. 3. Polish all rusty metals 4. Change the MBR toilet door. 5. Replace window handles. Went to ckoonyin place to see see, thanks BRO. After going to his place, found that I been smoked by the hdb people, going to complaint more to BSC.

Hi, missysg I haven't open my door yet. My appointment to collect the keys is on the 29th Feb. Praying hard not to get a shock once I open my door. I went to my place a few time, only notice the 4 room owners, with kids moved in. Hehe, will be noisy. For my layout, next to my kitchen is the toilet and the storeroom. Have a small passageway before going into the living room. btw, the white insects, is it termites? Very fearful of that too.

Hi, all Heard from my mum who had some experience on front load washing machine. Front load washing machine had the seal to prevent water from coming out, these seal would be cost and hassle to change due to wear and tear. In addition, once the front load washing machine is loaded, we are unable to open door, not for the case of top load, we can take out the clothes and put in the rest, thus saving water. Hope that helps

Went to around five contractors/ID. was quoted near to 10k. They say, since I was making Cement area, more expensive but when they quote me for the wooden parts for Cement area, it is more expensive than than cabinet by ft. Cement area for sink and cabinet with doors and door frame. 3. Top cabinet around 5Ft. 4. Solid surface top for Cement area. 4. Glass door for kitchen entrance. 5. Painting for the whole house. 6. Casement aluminum grills for whole house. Anyone have any advice?

Hi, all Happy New Yar. Been a while since I came here. I had postpone my collection of keys to 29th Feb. Had been busy going on shopping quotes !!. I was quoted $6.20/ft from the window shop in IMM. When getting quotesfor window grills from ID or contractors, I have range of $700+ to $1200+. The electrical shop, that some of us mention, Hong Tai, it is situated in the wet market Blk 505. They usually open at 11:00 on sunday. I also found out that the Air-con shop in IMM, hong Tar, they had also moved to that wet market. Hope the info helps.

I have some questions in mind when asking for quotation. when we were asking for quote, would the contractors give us the breakdown, the price and the material when we just say that we wanted to construct a kitchen? Would like to apologize if this is a silly question.
