    i had this textured tiles in my previous house....and i had no problem maintaining it even though i cooked daily....it is just that u have to clean the tiles each time u cook......

    roy did highlight to us that our kitchen will flood if we try to wash the kitchen flooring....we are fine with that as our kitchen and living area there is a kerb.....

    me too am using porcelain tiles as i do not like glossy ones....as we have 2 dogs at home and the urine will stain the tiles if we are not home to clean up the urine asap.....

    consider homogenous tiles...now there are a wide variety of choices in teh market...some are even marble like designs...
