U might wan to insert some light within the 'brick' wall incase of darkness. BEST of all, these lights create nice ambience for you too (for cost effective use the energy saving tunsen light la)

I did my cast iron railing at $1.6K(cos the base sit on my tiles and obstruct my overlaying... so no choice but have to change). If i didn't change at that time. I would paint the railing of the same colour as the wall against the railing and hence make it less visible. I guess that is one way of hiding an ugly railing yet keeping it in simple color for practical usage. Hope it help Mi staying at Blk 449:)

Dear Jessie, If it ur hubby's parent.. u get ur hubby to talk, if its urs parent.. then u talk. I get my hubby to relate to them (without them knowing that I dun like) BUT 1ST ur hubby have to agreed to the terms too.. Speaking to each own parent always have less impact on emotional factors! Hahaha.. I get what u mean.. i have 2 beauties and they always eat and drop things ard the hse! can't help it but laugh and blow my top.

Hello 88, I didn't get any designer.. more on own prefences and doing some homework on magazine. But I do have a liking on decor.. but have to master it lah. Dun worry abt the decor of ur hse.. diff ppl diff view and concept.. my neigbours all hse is nice to me cos they have the personality of the owner..trust me mess can create beauty sorry to say.. I can't tahan the smell...esp after giving birth.. my nose is like sensor detecter.. all good n bad smell far far away still can detect...

Hi jessie, I think you still go on with your own dream kitchen design cos afterall, you will still use the kitchen when they aged. I'm sure ur in law will like ur dream kitchen... cos sometime they dun know about design.. what they ask for is practical ones.. so long u put effort in make sure there's space for cutting and a plug for grinding and easy to assess the sauces while cooking and a moveable island top to put prepared ingreadient and storage for garlic and onions at dry area.. A grandma will love.. not too sure you know what i mean. but those mentioned is the key factors to make a practical and comfortable cooking. And BEST is I realise EM kitchen layout is quite good, you won't go too wrong in design. I 'm also quite worry that my mil will bring her pots and pans over, so i store all my toiletary (kitchen towel, toilet paper and Xtra kids' pampers on the empty kitchen cupboard.. So when she visited us, she knows no space liao. sorry to say that.. I'm also vy particular on what range and colour of plates and kitchen accesories i used. So far lucky.. she still quite pleased with my kitchen, her bad habit is to place everything outside and mine is everything inside.. cos she always say put inside, no one will use and eat it... ( I dun like mess) but I tell her.. dun worry... i will always make use it goes into ur sons stomach.. and i m the one who do the marketing.. and i dun overbuy them.. finish then buy... except can food.. they rest i get my maid to make sure she cook and empty them. and once a while i will make a check too.. Hope its helps! I'm not a smoker.. but i saw my colleague making their own roll... so i curious, i ask them, so they say more cost saving as the cigratte vy costly nowsaday. Put a spray inside the toilet and freshen the toilet lor.. when come to this.. Yup.. my pil 'gtg' to stay with us too (they only camp over some nites for .. we have a room custom made for them upstairs (colours and a built in TV in the wardrobe plus a phone by their bedside), and later maybe when they can't climb the stair then shift them to the ground level. Now the Xtra rm downstair is convert to a playroom cum studyrm. COOL...

I remember those days when I ride pass EM, I always do a fast peek thru on my riding journey. It will be good to stay in such a unit> Here why: • When I have a party at home, I can keep my rooms in private as all of them stay on the ground level. • It feel like being "rich" just like staying in a terrace with nice and friendlier neighbour • Have Xtra toilet (3rd one) • Less expensive than a private terrence • Have gov to take care of the surrounding • 'Hide' in my room and not get disturb while my kids are on the ground floor • etc lot more... Cool!.. welcome to the EM... No regrets

Hillo88, Thanks.. in fact the big canvas pic was from my wedding backdrop and I get the contractor to frame up and hung on my old hse 4RM. Now shifted to EM.. I hung it in the mid stair wall.. cos no other seems to fit it although i have plenty white walls... Those white walls are meant for my other small frame family photos and yet to hang up ( hubby always busy.. tat why really taking slowly to pin up every pcs) I got the gate at Kiddy palace, there are 2brand, I got the lucky baby. Ikea also have gate. you may want to to do check before u purchase any. The blog is created using picasa software that can be download from the web. And it have dummy function that can make tiling photos easily, so not much effort .. just click on the set button and it will compute from there. Hope to see u guys putting/making up a blog soon.. As for the new pool.. should be in few wks more...

Oh ya.. Hello88, u staying at ave7 huh just opp the church.. dun know where he is facing.. but while doing my hse.. he keep complaining his too warm.. Yes. Punggol Pri is just beside me. YA.. so I did the same .. cement screed 1st then laminate. Qns.. How did u maintain your laminate? Cleaning...? Any clue and tips. Contractor told me just water will do and dry mopping... 70K ..yes man.. dun know how come so much money.. we already DIY and try to choose cheap n durable material.... I go for all white.. I'm staying on 2nd flr in a 13 storey unit.. which mean 5 units above me. Had a gigantic tree shaded my MBR and balcony.. so pretty alrite. My electrician is staying 8th flr in Ave 7 commented high unit very hot. Gosh! my reno cost be like 70K include fixtures. Huge pocket damage. When I view the unit, thinking of just overlay laminate. Then take the key and get a few contractors to quote and end up overhaul the hse cos most of the existing tiles are hollow.. so in no time due to moisture it will just explode... Recently, My 2nd flr common toilet have leakage on the ceiling near the water/sewage pipe. I bot the unit from HDB and it within 1 yr. And have contacted the Branch office, but the office in charge say I have to share half the cost with the unit above mine. I still waiting for the respone as the officer say couldn't get the owner. And not too sure what the price like..

sunscreen is a different material from the one i do. Mine was aluminium, so it more durable and security wise :GOOD Yes it full ht abt 4m ht. I do get a quote from sunscreen and it abt $1.8-2K with 1yr warranty on machanism. Well, if budget is your priorty, then the pro & con. me quite happy with mine...

Hi, I did my EM A-la-carte overhaul and reno cost abt 75K exclude windows. But i did roller shutter and hack the whole hse. I would say 55k is really quite worth the price.

BunBun, can u update me the wink decal when u upload pic. How much did they quote u for the winktailor on wat size? yesterday I called. Got an instant quote for 8ft by 7ft abt $800. so I tot to just get the winktots series for my kids room or their play room. where can i get decal of a cat or dog silo... There's another decal company call www.dnalife.com, any rating from them??
