Hello To All Jurong West St93 Neighbours

ya cause from what i know, there is actually a flame inside that is heating up the water coils. Question, if a gust of wind blows off the flame, den how? Gas leakage right? There have been reports in HK and other countries of gas poisoning of the same problem. Plus i think for many of us, it will be installed in the kitchen so ventilation will be very important. But since it is free, was thinking to install it for the main bathroom and a electric water heater for the MBR. What do u all think? -

haha!! i too have the same conerns also.......but hor...free one leh.......plus it is much cheaper to run then electricity. But the piping will cost more than if u install a instant water heater but comparable if u install a storage heater. What do u all think? There is a another thread on the same topic http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...ic=8366&st= As for the Simmon bed, i got my Simmons Lakeview Plush Queen with Astro Bed Frame for around 3k plus. My sales guy was Jim Loh from Ackerman. According to him, he is usually stationed @ roadshows and exhibition. Quite a nice chap, will listen and understand your sleep problems and budget before introducing the mattress to you. Unfortunately i do not have his number but i believe calling up ackerman @ 64833656 would be helpful. -

I submited my HLE and other documents like 3 days later because i was applying for AHG. Wah!! This thread has really gather many neighbours ya? -
Hi peeps, Am kinda @ a crossroads with regards to my reno and would like to seek ideas on how to proceed. A little background on it, ID has given a very good package including carpentry however will charge a fee of $1700 if i take out all the carpentry from his quote. Relative is a carpenter who also receives works from ID firms all around singapore. Being in this line for quite a long time, he also knows plumbers and electrician plus all the necessary people needed for the muscle work for renovations. !! Perhaps any new folks here can help me out. I have the following situation so what do u think is the best combination? 1) ID design execute and coordinate the whole renovation process which includes painting, false ceiling and wiring for both design, drawing and coordination work for the whole renovation. Relative does carpentry. Pros: Can safe more on carpentry as relative will charge less plus the peace of mind that my relative is taking care of my carpentry that never skim on the work or materials. ID will do nice design and color scheme so the house will not look so boring. ID will coordinate everything else including painting, plumbing and helping to select the things like lighting. Cons: Need to pay $1700 extra to ID after taking out all the carpentry work from the ID's quote. Possible of conflict between ID and relative when the ID see that the design or things that is not to his standard. 2) Have my ID design up my place @ $700, pass the drawings to my relative to do carpentry and do painting myself. Plumbing, masonary works and installation of lighting done by my dad's friend. Pros: Will save a lot of money as relative will charge less plus the peace of mind that my relative is taking care of my carpentry. ID will do nice design and color scheme so the house will not look so boring. No conflict between ID and carpenter Cons: Painting will be done by myself (plus watever help i can get) Coordination of plumbing and other works will be done on my end. 3) I cover the Design and coordination. My relative covers Carpentry and other misc plumbing, painting will be done myself. Pros: Will save a lot of money as as relative will charge less plus the peace of mind that my relative is taking care of my carpentry. No conflict between ID and carpenter Cons: I dun have any creative traints in me so house will be boring Very time consuming What do u all think?

Hey Peeps, Have just gotten myself a new premium 5 room flat. Have decided to coordinate/do the renovation myself as i realise i got friends and relatives doing reno stuff. For carpentry, my relative will do. As for the plumbing and installation of bathroom assesories, my dad's friend will be doing that. Installation of the water heater and aircon will be done by the place where i buy the things from. But i have the following enquiries, 1) Who should apply for the haulage? Or i need to apply it myself? 2) Are they are permits that needs to be applied, by who and for what? Cause got no hacking or anything. 3) Are chemical wash really necessary? Or we do general cleaning ourselves is sufficent? 4) Am going to paint the house myself but do i need to apply sealant for the walls and ceiliings before applying the actual paint? 5) Is there any website or programs which i can try to see how the colors would look like? Or if there is any other good advise for me, just feel free to let it out! Thanks in advance for your kind advise.

Me still waiting for HDB reply........latest update is they are pending for CPF to transfer the money to them........sigh...........another wait........ For the security system, how much is the initial startup? Actually it was because of a situation which i had with HDB and then i guess they help me to appeal ba. They just told me my AHG has just approved. But have u tried applying? Because i was told that allowances and other misc salary are not included for consideration for the 4k ceilling for the grant. However, as my gf uncle is a carpenter, will be letting him do my carpentry and the plumbing he will help me coordinate or get my dad's friend to do. *heehee save money la* But hor, the problem i am facing, is i wan my walls to be colourful leh. Else those off white colours will be quite sian leh. Am not creative or artistic to do so. Anyone got any ideas got programs to let me see the colours i choose nice anot ma? How come u call the AHG not eligible leh, means your combined ceiliing burst ah? Cause mine actually also burst den i appeal den i got it. Just got word that my AHG is already approved now pending for CPF to transfer the money before collection of keys. !! -
