Next door neighbor is 3 storey how to add a screen for privacy and also to block the sun as the side boundary wall is facing west thinking of the following solutions: 1)build trellis and grow those fast growing climbing plants 2)plant those bamboo that can grow very tall. what other possible solutions?

I have done it before for a single bedroom. Just take note laminate "settle" in the room for at least a week before installation. Bought a installation tool kit from Ikea.

Want to lay laminate in one of my bedroom. Anyone got experience to share? The existing flooring is parquet but over 20 years old. Think the process goes like that 1) hack off the skirting, not hacking off the existing parquet as it is too much work and the floor level in the room is lower than that in the living room so can add on a layer. 2) Lay the insulation sheet and laminate planks. 3) Glue the skirting which helps to hold down the laminiate planks.

due to some mis communication, bullnose profile have been used for my kitchen solid top. Is it possible to change to square one???

Help Needed! Have signed contract with a window installer to change all the windows grilles on Monday. Then yesterday, another person came to take the measurement again. After he left, the saleperson called me up to say that it is nicer to use bigger frame for my window, ask me to top up $400 plus. Acording to them , the existing window is sliding and i am changing to casement, so the concrete window frame is 4" and the window frame is 1.5 so there will be a gap there. They say that it will be nicer to cover the gap but I said never mind. They pestered me alot and finally I told them that at most I will top up $200 to change to bigger window. Can someone enlighten me on what is this different sizes of window? Thanks in advance.

mine is 117 sqm, 5 rm resale $25k - hack kitchen, 2 toilets and 2 bedrooms flooring - hack kitchen and 2 toilet wall - hack 5 walls (cos changed the layout) - construct 3 walls - replumbing - paint the whole house - kitchen cabinet - laminate flooring for dining, living, bedrooms - floor tiles for toilets, kitchen n yard my hacking total 3.5k mine is also minimum carpentry, is it expensive?

forgot to add that the parquet is as old as the flat, close to 30 yrs. from what i can see (those portion not covered by furniture) condition not so good, think need to replace quite a lot.

Help! Wanted to do laminate flooring for all bedrooms, living and dining. The existing flooring in bedrooms are parquet n living room is terazzo. my contractor said CANNOT lay laminate over parquet so given two options option 1) remove parquet in bedrooms and lay laminate but then there will be a drop from living to bedrooms, think it is ugly. option 2) touch up the parquet. any other suggestions?
