Hi Missysg, so far still ok lor and is good in condition.... we are quite happy, though our house is quite dusty and dirty... so we spent the public holiday on Thursday cleaning and mopping the floor... We did our defect inspection it takes time especially on inspecting the tiles.. Missysg, think I saw you in your unit yesterday Thursday ar.... !! Btw, you going to make a door for your Kitchen? I can't do it cos left side will be cabinet and right side got socket. How many defects u find? Dun think you guys need to close all windows since it is best to leave open the top row windows abit...

Amoyz, I tried the http://www.homecamera.com service... Ok, here is the process of using the http://www.homecamera.com service. 1. Sign up and create an account at http://www.homecamera.com. 2. Download the HomeCamera Client. 3. Attached your web camera. (Up to 4 Camera supported) 4. Install the HomeCamera Client and follow the on screen instruction. 5. You may or may not want to enable Motion Detection feature. 6. If you want, double click on the picture and set the settings on screen. 7. If you enable the Motion Detection feature, whenever the program detects an motion in front of your camera, it will capture (still or video) and will send an email (free) or mobile alert (needs $$) with captured video or still image, informing you that a motion has been detected. This service is not very reliable. I must say... I got a hard time connecting the camera to the service. For the motion detection, still ok, but if there is changes in background lighting, it will also trigger an alert.. dunno why. We are given 24 free mobile alert credit. For me, Email alert is working but Mobile alert NOT working... yet, it deduct away 1 credit from me... !! I don't think this service is reliable or stable as a Home Security or Monitoring service. Haha... I will give this service 1 out of 5 stars... !!

Hmm... think there are some security systems that do not need computer to be switched on for 24hrs one.... anyone knows anything on that? Don't really like ADT or Certis CISCO coz it's quite expensive for the monthly fees... hehe... where u want to place yr dummy webcam?

hmm... hehe... no comments now... will try later when I'm back home... For me... I'm not very comfortable leaving my laptop or desktop switched on and online for 24x7...

If I'm not wrong. That homecamera requires you to have a Computer connected to Internet and it must be switched on as long as you wish to view the video online. Am I right?

Hi Folks!! Found a Defect Checklist on the web... So thought of sharing it with you guys... since alot of people will get their keys soon and can use the list as a reference..... Feel free to add in or remove the items.... *** Checklist *** 1) Living & Dining Room Does the balcony door panel on the left hand side screech when sliding to open or close? Does the balcony door have rusty screws on the frame, hinges and lock? Does the balcony door panel have any dents or scratches in the frame? Are the main door and gate lock and knob old and rusty looking? Is the main door is aligned properly? Is there difficulty is locking and unlocking main door? Does the main door and gate has mouldy hinges Is the main gate is overall rusty? Is the main gate easy to close in order to lock? Are the doorbell switch screws rusty? Is the main door see thru hole rusty? When looking thru, can you see clearly? Are there cracks near the balcony frame? Are there cracks on the wall along the passage way towards the room Is SCV point outlet is old and mouldy? Are the screws on the telephone point is old and rusty? Are the switches near the entrance to the balcony and bedroom is difficult to on or off? Are the screws on the power sockets rusty? Are the magnetic hinges on the top of the toilet door rusty? 5) Main Bedroom/Common Bedrooms/Study Are the louvers of window difficult to open and close? Are there any missing screws on the windows? Any screws not secured? Are there any rusty or mouldy screws on window hinges and frame? Is the door magnet is old and rusty? Are there any cracks and hairline cracks on walls? Those at Jurong Point one... if I'm not wrong... also can smell chocolate smell... hehe.. but hor... smell nice also...

Smell? hmm... will smell harder next week when I first open my house... think not that bad ar... as compared to those staying near Jurong Point area where they can smell something from the factory...

Hi Amoyz, hehe... if I can still remember correctly, you can take 179 or 254. Anyway, when you reached Boon Lay Interchange, you can go see see the board... think for Bus 179, think can alight at the 4 or 5th bus stops.... but do double confirmed it...

ckoonyin, Amoyz is right. Water & Electric can be activated at HDB Hub Atrium at Level 2 after you have collected your keys.

oh.... icic... I also called them up.... and what they told me is that the contractor is still touching up our flat and told me to be patient lor... Additional Housing Grant? Haiz.... we are not eligible for that....

Haha... missysg... 2 weeks from now? I dun think so... been waiting for more than 2 weeks liao... still no news from them.... Guess that I will call them up and say I will be out of town from Jan till March 2008... so die die must collect keys before dec 07... Ok guys.... hehe... I will be out of town tonight till next tuesday... hope I can get good news when I come back....

Saw the thread.... that guy never mentions which particular blocks got break-in.... Anyway, guessed that we all need to be more careful and be alert when we shift in to our new house. Because during that time, not many people will shift in and it will be quite quiet. Like I say.... with the influx of foreign workers in or near our areas... we really need to do something about it... but we really dunno or can't do much... Sad to say... Boon Lay MRT station and Jurong Point is already full of "blacks" (no offence pls)... hopefully the new Pioneer MRT station will not be the same.....
