We din go down and inspect together with the contractor but according to them... they cannot find any traces of white ants... but will do up all the timber skirting once again as a precaution... anyway, we requested them to do so... So how's the finding??

I'm thinking... if our tiles got not much problem or the defects are not too serious... just forget it lor... otherwise, HDB will make things more worse when they so called "rectified" the defects... I learnt my lesson from what they did to my toilet door... !! HDB really deserved a scolding...

But do bear in mind that the time HDB needs to rectify the defects... it may delay your renovation... BTW, when you need to move into your new house?? missysg, hmm.... icic... we are looking for a system 3 aircon... hehe... if got additional budget, don't mind taking system 4 one... one thing is that we are not sure if one aircon unit in living room will be enough to cool it since our living room is abit long... so we still need to source around and compare prices first before deciding.... cos my gf's dad got lobang... but dunno how good is the pricing yet... haha... after so much talk about All Best.... Hey missysg, I was told that if kitchen top is granite one... it will absorb those oil more easily ar.... which is bad.... is it true??

Err... haha.. major defects ar... I also dunno wor... I'm just quoting what that lady told us lor... On that day... got three people... two guy and one lady.... hmm... we reported 11 defects... I believed got 2 major defects... Kitchen windows frame dented on the top right hand corner... not sure how they going to fix it... haha.. maybe change whole window?? The other one is damaged wall underneath the windows... they told me is that during construction time... they forgot to remove dunno what things... we also dun get what they try to tell us... They told me 2 weeks lor... hehe.. will go down and spot check what has been done so far...

ckoonyin, it depends on how major your defects are... for my case, they told me that they will need about 2 weeks time to rectify all my reported defects... but hor... hehe... not sure if I can trust them or not... Have they go through the defects with you liao??

Hi lewkw.... I know window curtains can be installed if you have window grills.... my parent's house also does that... But hor... I just not sure if windows blinds can be installed or not if we have window grills.. cos we are planning to install windows blinds instead of curtains for some windows...

Just wanna ask u guys ar... if I install windows grills ar... can I still install windows blinds??

Hey ckoonyin, I'm also quite puzzled... initially I thought my gf's parents should be siting together with us and my family and the rest of her family members will be siting in the other VIP tables. But hor, when I asked around... they say that's not the case. One VIP table for us and my family, the other VIP table is for her family.

Hmm... that's good... dunno why... think my block's exterior wall abit dirty wor... and I can some see lines of cracks on the exterior wall here and there.... Anyway, was told by the West Coast Town Council, our blocks are due for Cyclical Repairs & Repainting estimated in mid 2009. In the meantime, they will arrange with their building Term contractor for localised touch up of external facade painting that are defective. hehe... think West Coast Town Council is quite efficient... I asked them to fix our faulty lift button and they get it fixed on the next day... Also asked them to fix the Playground hardcourt flooring near 989D cos got a piece of flooring came off... hehe.. anyone happened to pass by there... let me know if it is fix or not... Oh... just for info... Our blocks of Flat were built and completed in Jun 2002 and handed to West Coast Town Council only effective from Sept 2005.

A quick question... For those already got your keys, just want to know, when you look out of the windows, any cracks on the exterior walls, any faded painting and dirty walls for your block?

hi doit, I do have my concerns as well. Once, when I went to my new house, I saw two bangalas sitting at the 989D void deck during afternoon time. Not sure during night time cos never stay there at night...

Courts and HN are usually expensive.. Btw.. how long HDB takes to rectify the reported defects?? HDB guy is coming to my house to look at the defects...
