People say cannot have plants & water inside bedroom, but i have a friend who place a quite sizeable plant inside bedroom, & he strike 4d, so i think wood is his favourable element. Hi CKoonyin, I had exactly the same problem. What i intend to do is cornices, much cheaper & wont make the house shorter. I used the budget for crystal lights and chandeliers bec when i move, i can "BAN" out the lights, but i cannot carry away the false ceilings. U can use combinations of wall & ceiling lamps. As for brightness, I not sure what is your floor area, but i know that for HDB, 2 tornado of 23 watt each is good enough if u on it simultaneously. You should check the lumens. High wattage does not equate more brightness. Warm white is supposed to be brighter than cool white. I also don't like cool white, look like NTUC, but many people likes it. I prefer warm white. Under daylight or cool white, when i look into mirror, my acne scars, black head, white head whatever heads is accentuated. But under warm white or halogen, my face looks very radiant that i almost fell in love with myself, haha. I realised that the more orangy the light colour, the nicer u look.

What about another scenario, if i want to move my basin a little bit, less than 1 metre, plus, move the shower point to the other side of the wall? Can u add on and extend by glueing? I heard that for aircons, if u want to move the position of the blower, all the copper pipings must discard & replace, cannot add on and extend.

A reno contractor quoted me $80 per door, but i believe u can get it cheaper if u go to workshops. Maybe u can "BAN" out the whole door, bring to them to duplicate. If rot already, need to change. If didnt rot, can refurbish (like me).

Hi Phoenix, u can flip through past 1 week's classifieds, one shop at geylang selling it for $158 plus installation. If u kiasu, even if u top up $100 & select a more exp one, total of 2 is still cheaper than $560.

I notice that in some shops, they sell nothing less than $200. Those at jalan besar will sell like $150. The $99 sold by rigel is a bit rare. Jalan besar is really the place for budget budget people. Some sinks were sold for only $60.

It says $158 inclusive of instal but when i called, they say mine will be $300+ bec my existing one is squat, so they say convert from squat to sit will have additional charges. Any idea true or not? Will top portion have any scratches? My friend told me there are 2 types, one is those that we use in normal hdb, small pool of water. There is another type used by hotels where the water is more.

Is it risky to buy the cheapo ones? I scared pound foolish penny wise. If it gives problem & u ask plumber to come, the plumbing fee is like hundred over, end up spending more.

Hi Dragon, I think Jan is a bad time to source for renovation contractor. Everyone wants to rush to complete the job before chinese new year, u risk compromising on quality of work. Might as well wait for a few more weeks and start after chinese new year.

My flat also have this type of roof angles pointed, but it is pointing at back window at the back of the flat. Fengshui master gave me a clear crystal to hang at the window. Mine is not so terok, bec it is behind. My opinion : Avoid buying if u still have choice, just to have a peace of mind. Hi Celest, my opinion : wait till it give problem or break down then replace. Aircon price drops gradually over the years. Fujitsu System 3 now cost $1599, special offer by gain city. Wait till u buy new one then dispose. If u dispose now without buying, u will pay disposal fee. If u buy from gain city, they dispose and dismantle trunking for u foc, but u must "sang" them the spoilt aircon. U can push your luck to see if ID will do it for u, but I dont think they are so nice, unless u pay

I saw it yesterday, happened to pass by a tile shop at geylang. It was something like $15psf. The price is more of concern to me than whether is it quartz or granite. Your black one is nice, but I was more attracted by the blood red one, very mesmerising, but at $15psf...... Did you notice there is a red version? Many hotels & restaurants have it.

Maybe bec i went there about 5+, i only saw 4 shops selling lights, and the lights they sell are the simple design and older models. I think they specialise on supporting parts, they dont sell those fanciful design lights or crystals.

Hi, I was attracted by some crystal lights & chandeliers with chrome parts. But one concern is, what happens a few years later, when the chrome part starts to rust, can it be polished back to its original state? Anyone has any experience? The shop people told me to apply singer oil on the chrome parts, but if i apply oil, and then the subsequent month when i clean the crystals, i don;t think i can clean it without oil staining onto the crystals.
