  3. Hi All, I need help. My toilet has no windows so Its now installed with a KDK ceiling Ventilating Fan 27CHH. The existing duct is a wave Pipe. I realise the ventilating fan cannot help to dry the bathroom. So i plan to replace it with a model from HongKong: KDK 30BGAH http://www.shew.com.hk/english/brand/kdk/ventilation-and-air-conditioning/thermo-ventilator/30bgah.aspx http://www.shew.com.hk/media/2909/KDK_OI_thermoVentilator_30BGAH_ct_en.pdf Can anyone recommend a good and skillful guy to help me do the replacement? Thanks in advance!! I recently went to Taipei for hoilday and the service apartment I stay at has a Bathroom Warmer/dryer ventilating fan. Its really VEry very very good for drying the bathroom even though the bathroom has no Windows. The floor was dry after abt 2 hours and if Hang wet clothes below , the clothes dry after 2 hours!! I believe SIngapore do no sell these becasue we have no winter. But For a windowless toilet, I think this is God Send! They have many many models and I liked a panasonic one. But so difficult to buy a 220V model in Taipei. That's why i search in Hongkong and found this KDK model. I'm sure electrical bill will be high but i'm willing to spend the money if i can Finally have a dry bathroom....
  4. Thank you Dr Anarchy!! I will give the 25L another try! The previous studio sold liao so dun need to care about that heater anymore. hahaha.
  5. Hi, anyone can help me with the capacity of the storage heater? When i renovated my studio 1.5 years ago, I was recommended the Joven 25 L ( JH 25) as I stay alone. The problem I faced was the water did not stay hot long enough for me to finish my shower. My shower habit is I use very hot water ( I guess about 40 degree) and leave the water running. so by the time im done with my shampoo and conditioner,( less than 10 min) the water becomes cold already even when I turned the mixer to maximum hot. I feedback the problem and was told the capacty may not be lbig enough. But ALL the sales man i consulted were VEERY Sure 25L can use to shower for very very long! So some suspected there could be a problem with my Particular set. Anyway, now that im renovating my new home, Im contemplating if I should buy 35 litre instead. But everyone was telling me its too big for one person. But im worried if I buy back the 25L i will have the same problem. Can anyone using the JH25 share your experience on how long the hot water last for u? Is the electricity consumption between 25 and 35L significant? I heard the 35L take longer to heat up so a bit sianz.... How ar how???
  6. Hi thanks for the replies. I gave up liao. Goign to use tiles that look like cement. hahahah
  7. Hi, I am in the process of renovating my new place, and I really like to have cement screed flooring cos I like the raw feel. However, My ID kept persuading me not to do it, saying the floor will have cracks, hard to maintain , will have uneven patches etc. I though cement screed is supposed to be easy to mop and clean? Anyone has cement screed flooring in your home?? Pls kindly advise on the pros and cons. I'd also appreciate contacts of anyone who specialised in doing cement screed flooring and can do a good job for me. Qiuck! before My ID " Forces ' me to use tiles. One thing to note, my ID is planning to over lay tiles on existing tiles..I asked if it is to cut cost, but he claims that it is actually more expensive to do so. he is doing that cos my current flooring is a bit thin... So if we are not going to hack exist tiles, can cement screed still be done?
  8. Me me me!! Actually my parents la.. they applied for the 3 bedroom. but the queue number is 420 plus. think still got chance??
  9. Hi, sorry long post ahead .... Just wanted to share an experience which kind of put me off. But I'm not sure if I'm wrong feeling this way so I hope you guys can share with me your thoughts. Recently I wanted to extend my bedroom into my balcony and my developer had agreed. But they said I need to apply with the URA. So I randomly chose an designer firm to ask someone to help me make a drawing so that I can apply for approval. it was later then I found out that The firm can actually help me do all the necessary paper work. So this designer guy said he will come and take a look for me to see if wat I want to do is feasible. I asked if I need to pay him and he said no need as its just a small thing. So he came, I told him wat I want to do, and he left with my letter of approval from my developer and my ONly copy of floor and lighting plan. The day after, he called me and said the cost of Just the application itself will be about 6K, as mine is quite a complicated process. and to do the actual renovation will be at LEAST another 8k. This is too costly for me so i told him i will not do the renovation if that's the case. He said he agree that its not worth doing it, and he will meet me to pass me back my documents. When I sms him to arrange a timing to meet, his reply was " Sure. Then you can buy me din din" I was instantly Put off by his reply. Firstly, why would a grown man in his 30s use "din din" for dinner? act cute ar? Secondly, Why should I buy him dinner? So I just leave it as it is and did not reply him. On the day we are suppose to meet, he called me to tell me he's on his way. then he said " eh, you are buying me dinner rite? " I was , again, thinking" WAt??" but I nicely told him " No. I already had mine" And When I finally met him and got the documents back, I thanked him very sincerely and apologise for the trouble. he said "no problem. But you owe me dinner though" (he was not joking!!) Ok this may seem like a very small matter but I really felt disgusted. To me, its kind of shamelss for a man to be asking for a free meal from a lady. But my queston is, Do I really Owe him? Am I obligated to buy him a meal as a show of appreciation? I'm not fimiliar with the designer services and I was wondering if by right, I should pay him for the consultation? Or when its free of charge, is there is an unwritten rule that we should at least buy dinner? If not, why is he acting like I Owe him?
