  1. Mine not so nice as in mine is no fancy with wooden frame. It's frameless. Simpler lah.. cuz on shoestring budget also..
  2. yah i went to see 15fl. That unit's kitchen and kitchen door are fab. but my kitchen door is not nice.
  3. mine is around the same as you. He's quite smart because he showed us how the kitchen door can be done though many contractors are going around saying it cannot be done.. i saw one showflat for the kitchen sliding door. it's perfect.. just adjust the main door a bit will be fine.
  4. No T&C that is special. Payment 5% downpayment, 45% upon start of works and delivered materials, 40% upon progressive payment in accordance to works done, 10% upon 2 weeks of completion and handover.. So far so good with this guy. Not too pushy. Allows you room for your style. Does not try to push me to do this and that so that the price becomes higher. Gives many practical ideas and respects my no-frills renovation (as I want to create simple Thai/ Indon feel) by the way i saw you also shortlisted tong hong. My personal feel is not very good for them, as they gave us very bad 1st impression. My hubby who worked in condo contractor firm (as in builds the condo from scratch tog with the interior reno) said that the quality is very bad. Tiles not aligned properly for the tong hong show flat tt we went to see. I'm on the lower floors... hehe... shy to say exactly which floor lah..

  6. Total Damage today: $1297 for Samsung 9.0 kg washing machine and LG 390L fridge with extended warranty from Courts.. seem a little steep after buying.... Yesterday spent $754 for toilet accessories, kitchen sink & tap, electric heater, towel rack. Feel so poor now.
  7. Yes, you do have these obstructions and you have 2 possible solutions: 1. forget about the sockets and tv point (do not use them) 2. leave a gap big enough on the MCB side so that you the door can slide nicely. option 2 is the one i chose since no one needs the use the MCB so often anyway.
  8. Hi All, my contractor told me that have to pay separately to HDB for haulage.. is that true? And how much is the fee? From the Tanglin Halt thread, those guys are paying flat rate 950 for 4 room flat, up from 850 previously!!
  9. The change to copper pipings is part of standard package. Price is higher overall because of the the kitchen glass sliding door (about 750) and shower screens (total abt 780) and bedroom floor tiles (3.50 psf)

  11. Hi All, Have been looking around for contractors and here are some bad experiences to share. Unfortunately one contractor recommended by friend turned out to be really horrible!! His name is Vincent from Art & Design: I sent him my floor plan and list of things I need in the renovation since 1-2 weeks ago. Finally yesterday he sent me this: Vincent: Hi, how are things going? Hope u can still rmbr me. I'm Vincent from Art & Design. When will u be free n sit down for reno discussion? Me: Pls send the quote for me to take a look. Vincent: We haven't yet discuss wif it. How am i know what you want? R u really interested or just only want to waste my time? If you are not keen, then is ok. Me: I need to take a look at the quote first. Vincent: Lucky never waste my time. Me: ok Vincent: As what i can see i don't think u hv that money to spend. U this kind of customer e most can spend is 10 over k. But yet u want people to work for nothing for u. Pls don't come n talk story to me. Bye bye n god bless u. :S Me: Rest assured. Vincent: Pls don't come. Tks many many too. zzz See how rude he became after his 2nd sms and after I asked him for quote. What's wrong with asking for quotes??? I guess he thinks he doesn't think much of our "small" project.. well up to him.. we were prepared to pay more for flooring... the point though is regardless of the size of customer's project, this is not how u treat them...
