Our bedroom set!! Rattan sofas we are eyeing... still trying to decide - which do you think is nicer..? !! Hey Cindy, heard about your done up Balinese resort style house.. any photos to share? As for locks, we have our eye on Yale. No website info though.

But we can still get season parking so that can park in MSC all day rite...?

Today we got 2 l-shaped pc tables with suspended drawers and fixed cabinets, 2 high back pc chairs, one book shelf, 2 acks for CPU for $972. Hope it's a good buy. One down, masterbedroom, curtains, living and dining, kitchen stuff (in that order to go). If anyone wants the contact, can pm me. I think the quality quite reasonable, as the shop specializes in office furniture. Hpe the bookshelf is sufficient for all my books and uni texts.. :-)

The other day my hubby measured the ceiling ht in our JM flat. It's 2.6m tall. But we didn't do any false ceilings.

I totally love your deco!! Where did you get the "sofa" thing for your balcony? We want to get something similar to this for our living room!

Yes it's incredibly difficult to be clear headed when it comes to renovation. For us, no choice, as our piggy banks are drying out..

I guess HDB will always be HDB. When we went to inspect our flat, my hubby, who used to work in condo construction line, said if the condo has big weird beams and columns protruding like our HDB flat at Jalan Membina, there would be major re-works needed. Wonder if EC is like condo or HDB in this aspect...

I thought I saw exposed pipe in your MBR toilet... I don't remember seeing any pipes in our toilets...

anyone knows where to get good furniture for study room and cabinets? We have 2 desktops and one laptop, and we're looking for stable and sturdy furniture, much like office type.
-
I think a hanging light for MBR is nice. I'm having a simple one. Only costs me $120.

Sounds like you have something coming up real soon! What are you going to do with the bamboo, as decoration or you are going to make something out of it? (both you ahdn your hubby sound like very hands-on people from the tim you were saying how you assembled a cabinet till 1 am). If you are going for the balinese style, it means you also don't have l-box/ false ceiling in your house right? We just spent half a day at our place yesterday as it now begins to look like home more with the flooring don up and cleaned, lights fixed up and walls painted.

Hi Cindy, thanks for your advice. Any shops to recommend in Sungei Kadut, in terms of service, quality or attractive pricing? As we do not have a car, we have been putting off going there for some time, but definitely we are checking out the place. Sorry, what's and where's "IFC"? thanks for the updates!

Thanks. I went to Scanteak the other day, the furniture there is GORGEOUS, totally fits the style that my husband and i love. Unfortunately it did not fit our wallets. Hmm... Lim's would be quite expensive since it is mainly ang moh prices. If I had gotten my hanging lights at Lim's or even Balestier, i would not have been able to afford them. Below is so the style that my hubby and i love. The other day i went o Tradehub (many furniture stores there) and asked for rattan furniture. The guy looked a bit surprised and told me not many people looking for rattan, mostly only ang mohs... we are not ang moh what.. :-( does anyone have any advice pertaining to where we can get rattan/teak/bamboo furniture pieces at good value? kreigs, which of the shops you have mentioned would be worth going to in terms of pricing?

was going to go down to our flat today to take photo as the lights are more or less fixed up, but it's so rainy and cold outside. just wondering, where are you guys moving from (i.e. which part of sg are you currently staying in?) yesterday the delivery guy for my chandeliers told me quite a few people came to ask the shop aunty for the lights after we bought them... phew..
