The Others The Common Toilet We had also changed the floor tiles, sink and toiletbowl. Did not take pictures of it coz it is heavily invaded with the baby's stuffs - his bath toys, bath tub, small red pail, scooping pail, anything The Other Room Not much work was done. The previous owner had top cabinets done on one wall which allows us to store books, files and likes, without sacrifacing the spaces below. The Bomb Shelter We did not cover it up as it does not seems cost feasible. However we make a L-shape metal rack in the storeroom to store everything and anything - 3 carseats for one small little boy - Empty boxes from the stuffs we buy (so as to keep them back in the original boxes when we dun use them any more) - Some kitchen stuffs (like canned drinks) - Foldable dining table and stackable chairs (for entertaining) Kekeke I don't have false ceilings! I don't know the price of the laminates leh? The reno guy keeps on recommending this laminate. But afterthat I realised this is a very common laminate. Will look nice black and white though (Hb dun want the whole house to be black n white theme ) iT'S really a teeny weenie little kitchen. But luckily it looks fine now.. dunno how it looks like years down the road hahaha with more things coming in. That's why some kitchen stuffs ends up in the bomb shelter now. Haiz, u r the same as my hb.. gives me no excuse to change my BIW.

New pictures of the MBR Toilet The MBR Toilet I like beautiful toilets. It's one of those places where you really have your own personal time. And I was so happy that I get the go-ahead to change the whole toilet (coz need to relocate toilet door). Here's the end product. I had dark floor tiles to match with light colored wall tiles. A simple frosted glass swing door eludes some mystery for the hubby. Here's a simple and elegant glass sink (after which the reno guy custom sized a piece of mirror on top). The toilet bowl cost us around $400, no choice, the hb has got golden backside kekekeke. The shower screen and the rain shower. I am kinda disappointed with the raindrop shower. The reno guy did not warn us that it would not be able to go all the way up as it is very near the concealed piping. In the end, it feels like the usual shower head. But I bet the small little one will loves standing under the rainshower in future. New pictures of the Baby's Playroom The Baby's Playroom We did not do anything much to this room, except painting work. It's bright and cheery lime on one side of the wall. But I am starting to decorate his room. It's carebears on one of the walls. The wardrobe belongs to the previous owner. Just as well that I can hang his cute little clothes and put his stuffs inside. The curtains, again, sOoO colorful and beautiful with fishes and turtles. Some of his messy, little toys here and there in his room. That's not my skirt, it's his sleeping bag.

Old pictures of the MBR Toilet The MBR Toilet No idea what they are thinking with this super ugly top and bottom black cabinet in the toilet. And I must mention, the swinging door missed the toilet bowl by less than 1 inch!

New pictures of the Master Bedroom No old pictures of the Master Bedroom. Nothing that's really worth the mention The Master Bedroom We did a study table in the bedroom. No choice, lack of room. The roman blind is again, beautifully done. On the right, it's the frosted glass toilet door. And on the left, it's the built-in wardrobe left from the previous owner (no reason to change coz it is still in very good condition as the previous owner did not really stay there). On the toilet issue, the location of the toilet door is totally bad. It's facing directly the bed. The hubby decided to seal off the old toilet door and make open a new one. I am of coz very happy, give me all the reason to change the wall and floor tiles. Hahaha That's the old wardrobe from the previous owner. The dressing table is also one year old, from Ikea. Bought it last year as one of the must item for the wedding room. Our bed, again one year old. The hubby had a chesson board done to conceal the ceiling beam, otherwise we will be sleeping under the beam structure, which again, is bad for fengshui reason. Besides the bed, is the chest of drawers from Ikea to put home-wear. Again, the beautiful curtains... Look, it's baby invasion again, in the MBR (the breast pump and air purifier in the earlier pics r all his as well)

New pictures of the Kitchen The Kitchen Not a great change of layout design from the previous owner but some changes on the small little things which makes a whole lot of difference. I had redone the flooring with dark colored tiles. I must complement the reno guy with good tilers who laid the floor tiles beautifully. As recommended by everyone I know, I made a black granite worktop. To make the kitchen looks bigger and brighter, we decide to use white glossy laminates. We re-locate the hob slightly to the left to facilitate cooking. And the reno guy recommended simple hood to allows more storage space above. No tempered glass hob for us as well as the reno guy says that with lots of cooking by the maid in the kitchen, tempered glass will not last. It's also Bosch washer and dryer for us. We spent about 2k on these 2 items as the hubby is obessed with the product manufactured in Germany as compared to Thailand. We need the dryer coz we stayed at the 7th floor and we never like the idea of someone's else clothings dripping onto us, let alone bird****, used pads and any other things. Oh, I found a cheaper alternative for the dryer, by hanging all clothes in the living room and the maid's room during early morning. It's just bottom cabinet over here. 2 main reasons, to create a bigger feel of the kitchen and also coz the rice cooker, hotpot, sterilizer are located here. Steam condensation will spoil the top cabinets in long run. Again, with regular cooking and lots of Frozen EBM, we need the old type 3 door refrigerator and it's Misubitishi for us. All the things hanging out here and there and the bits and pieces on the work top are the boy's. Now we are talking about invasion by the small little one.....

Old pictures of the Kitchen The Kitchen I have a teeny weenie little triangle kitchen that allows not more than 1 to be in the kitchen at the same time (hOhOhO, my excuse for not cooking hahaha). Anyway, look at how the previous owner makes the kitchen even smaller with top and bottom cabinet and full length wardrobe. OpS, say wrongly, it's full length cabinet (furthest right in the pic). The total black on white solid top makes the kitchen looks again, even smaller. Dunno what they are thinking. The hob is located to near to the right! Not a good cooking environment for right handers. And the sink is too small to put in a proper wok (hahaha I talk as if I do cooking !!) Thanks, got the sofa when I was pregnant and exhausted over the wedding preparation. Did you comment in my other thread on "opinions on quotation?" Yes, finally settling down, though I got a few small items to buy. But the previous 1.5 years are hectic. hahaha

New pictures of the Living Room and Dining Area The Dining Area The hubby likes things round and enjoys some entertaining at home. So, it's massive 4.5 feet zen looking round table with glass top to blends out the odd shape. The round and squarish dining light complements the squarish design of the chairs. Hidden in one corner is a mini-fridge. Now, I just need to get a small trolley or table to put some dining neccessities (E.g. bread, tissues, coasters, mats etc) See, my boy has a small corner of the dining area all ready.

New pictures of the Living Room and Dining Area The Living Room Painted one wall in darker shade. This cosy L-shaped sofa and coffee table is one year old. Got them last year when I moved to a rental flat. Purple is my favourite color and with a young child on hand, we prepared another set of fabric as standby - an earth brown color tone The top of the coffee table is a piece of see through glass which I want to display some ornaments, if possible ( I collect smurf figurines and has tons of tortoises, turtles, terrapins figurines). But I am now complemtating whether to display them or not, as I am afraid the small little one will try putting my treasures into his mouth. Kekeke but definitely, he's a real treasure compared to these silly figurines. I like my curtains alot, transform my whole living room. See the view fromthe sofa, soothing green! New picture of the Living Room and Dining Area The Living Room I wanted a TV console that can acts as a storage as well. The reno guy finally came up with this designs after endless drawings. Not totally pleased but that's the best from all the sketches he had provided so far. It has curvy shapes below the air-con and at the front (which will complement the dining area odd triangular shape) See, the 2 storage area besides the TV area? He had measured them just nicely for CDs and nothing else!. The Area Next to the Bomb Shelter We had the boards removed and redone with thin boards whenever there's a need to conceal the piping. Look, the Foyer Area looks brighter without the low-hanging board. Here one side is the shoe rack and the other side is the storage rack. Both are 3 compartments for ease of removing things and shoes. The last compartment of the shoe rack is for the young boy to learn to take out and wear his own shoes in future.

Old pictures of the Living Room and Dining Area The Entrance or Foyer Area It had this low hanging board to conceal the piping. But the hubby said it looks compelling when standing below and makes the area looks dark. The Area nNext to the Bomb Shelter Was empty initially and I wanted to utlitize the area with some storage and shoe rack, if possible The Dining Area A little odd triangular shape for the dining area which the hb dun like due to fengshui reasons

Spent about 2 months house-searching and viewed over 30 odd units but finally we are back to the 2nd unit we had viewed so far. It's a 5 room flat with 111sq meters What captivated us to this flat is the living room and all the 3 bedroom facecs the same direction, or greenery (as you can see) It has strong morning sun which will let the sun shines onto my boy's buttocks... good for him when he start schooling View from the living room

Yo mace. I am back there everyday, to bath and unpack some stuffs. tHOUgh my mum's and the new flat is on the same stretch of road, it is really causing alot of inconvenience. Imagine 7 ADults and 1 baby cramping in a 4 room flat AND my silly little baby is the one with the most stuffs and taking up the most space hahaha (that's why me and hb goes back to new home to shower every nite) Oso sent my maid to do the cleaning on days tat it does not rain.. but she can onli be there 2hrs at the most when my baby is sleeping. So, the clean up and move in is very slow. The reno guy is not coming up these days oredi, his stuffs r done. But making him come up to do the final touch-ups lor. My only consolation is that this is his own business and so far he is very responsive to my calls for defective issues (just that he will not pick up my calls immediately and wait a few hrs for my anger to subside, clever move ahahahaa) and he will really do all the rectifications for me, but at HIS OWN SPEED and Time. Just my luck that he is unable to cOpe and has a poor batch of carpenters under him. -

Updates, updates I am still camping at my mum's place... 2weeks plus oredi.. Someone asked about me in this forum and this is my reply The tilers did a very good job, the tilings r done very evenly and very finely I was impressed with it then and posted to compliment him But the carpenters are horrible.. the workmanship is simply not there...the laminates r cut irregularly .. u can see the uneven finishes (and the only way he could touch up is by putting more sealant or the white color things , so u can imagine a study table with thick bold white lines at the sides where the wood n the walls joined), i dunno what went wrong.. wrong measurements were given to his carpenters, and the top portion of the kitchen cabinets were redone.. the guys even measure the area for the hob wrongly (luckily we came in that night and spotted on this and told him off, otherwise i dunno what will happen if he go and give measurements for the granite top) .. his carpenters did a few wrong cabinets oso and had to redo... the worst thing is that the saturday before last saturday, he told his carpenters off For leaving halfway..that group of carpenters went on strike and he got to get another grp to finish up my stuffs. haiz.. there was so much delay that I have been camping at my mum's place for the past 2 weeks plus. Finally this is the 3rd week of delay and he had finishes up everything, will get him to come by this sat to do the final touch up and pay him the remaining money.. i am hoping to move in either this weekend or next lor...coz i got a young baby with me, and i dun wanna expose him to the residual dust and paints so fast I am sorry but this is my experience with him. Maybe he had a good grp of carpenters before? Maybe he is good? But definitely he cannot cope at this current timing. And I did not receive any perspective drawing as of now. My whole reno cost is $24k... for a 5room resales.. Simply disappointing is the only 2 words I have for my reno guy now.... He might be good prior, but he simply cannot cope when just started running his own business now. And, gotta admit lack of time is an issue.. The next time I move house, I am gonna make sure I got ample time to prepare.. Hahaha but that would be another few years when my boy is older and the 5room is too small for us. Anyway, will try to post up the pics after I move in, coz it is really hard to load the pictures when I am always moving ard without a proper base... -
hihihi, popping by to drop a few lines… alvin is currently doing my flat and he mentioned that there is a andy from castlegreen that has recommended him a few customers… r u that andy?
