@ryanyth, no no.. miscom.. lol.. my showcase not moving.. i won't want it to move coz i am displaying my shot glass collections. later drop and shatter etc.. i will die of heartpain.. hahaha.. i was actually saying replacing the sliding door area with wardrobe and also adding a door. i manage to find a picture that will give you a rough idea of my vision below.. See this 2 roomer also did similar. so i will remove the sliding door, place a full height wardrobe and remaining 1/3 space place a door. If you see the pic below, roughly that's why it will look, but instead of TV being place will flush the backgroung with mirror and glasses.. put serveral 6 inch shelving in middle. top and bottom no point lah.. its beyond eye level. cannot see and appreciate my collections through out the globe. maybe will display other bigger collections. Do you roughly get my idea? or wait till few mths lah. show you end product.. lol.. (i die die need partition lah.. coz when i sleep, i need an enclosed feeling and complete darkness and silence. (open concept, sure will lights filtering in from various sources) i wont feel claustrophobic. ok, now to toilet topic. sink can be moved. will have those tiny copper pipes running through. won't need to hack or disturb the waterproofing. tat's why my id say if i can tahan the sight of it.. compared to seeing a wet floor, sink and wc every time i shower, i told her i rather tahan the copper pipes. my tiny toilet,, probably just a few cm of it lor.. i told her.. I CAN!!!!! wahahaha! i will spend a lot for carpentary and lucky that is the one she can give me the friend price as its done by her factory. other stuffs like tiling, electrical all is her contacts so hard to give hefty discount.. but wood is really my dislike, i will try minimise it wherever possible, or mask it so it don't look like wood! previously life must be a tree.. lol.. i am so anti wood!

@mmoh not bad, your carpenter still honour the replacement, how long has it been since you shifted? 2 year +? thank you yeah.. finally!!!! my long awaited dream! @2Roomer, hi distant neighbour. yes. they really take their own sweet time construct the blocks. even when 1st few block were moving in, rest will under construction, without painting and windows etc. mine no need say lah. u saw link bridge still under construction till now. Mine is type 1. 35 sqm. same as ryan. like he said, mirror image so i follow this blog which is really very useful as i cannot physically see my hse yet.. @ryanyth Nooooooo!!!!!! i don't want bomb shelter.. later clothes will have some kinda musky smell due to lack of ventilation. my vision is like... the sliding door to bedroom will be wardrob. so will inch out abit into living room. but front will convert to showcase for my shotglasses, and remaining space will be door. I am meeting Yvonne this sat, let me see if some pics or sketch can be produced after that. i will share here. Yes, my hse will be a challenge for her... she die die need to produce the results. i foresee shifting the toilet sink to achieve my vision. its the stupid sink facing the shower that is the problem. i don't want L shape shower screen. i want full rectangle wet area..

@mmoh wah, so no.1 to 3, i need to pay some attn already, when purchasing.. think the rust is a constant issue. my parent house dish rack also rusty. den hard time finding a similar dimension type to replace. rust is harmful, don't want utensils to come in contact.. later go into our food body.. wonder "Song-Cho products good? comes heavily recommeded of their kitchen stainless steel.. IMM got an outlet. i am anti-wood. so i will try minimise wherever possible, opt for glass doors, PVC etc. timber skirting all will remove and replace with tiles.. Hi @2Roomer, yes.. my project is west ridges.. are you my future neighbour? Wonderful Announcement!!!! after i kpkb yesterday... HDB buck up liao!!! Last night update my Key Collection date : 27 Mar (AM) Hurray!!!!!! So happy i was really jumping in JOY!! that's just less then 2 weeks.. super excited guys!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!! T_T (tears of joy)

i am back after a long absence and @ryanyth, you have already moved in and celebrate Xmas, New Year and CNY already.. How is the feeling of living in your own little roof? and yes, i saw your earlier reply.. i die die want my wardrobe!! hahaha! My PCD is End Mar 18!!! Yet last min got some problem with link bridge, up goes the (blue thingy) barriers again to rectify!!! Most of my flat neighbours start calling/email HDB, they remain coy, don't dare commit or adjust date.. Suay to the max. already last block out of the 14 blocks to get keys, yet so much issue! 1st block got keys in July 17, some even move in by Aug 17 and celebrate National Day But just a matter of time.. (i know, that's what all tell me...) and during this period, just go bio latest electrical appliences, furnitures etc. Have so much of ideas, yet no house key.. But once i get keys, i might have to come bother you abit on some advices. @mmoh, strange that you didn't get any rebate. i applied on Nov 13 & sign lease on Mar 14, got 10K grant. ryan said he got 15K. Cannot be because you applied SOBF, get penalised? Btw, how is everything in your house? after a few years, what are the wear and tears to expect?

yup, i echo mmoh's concern as well. see your tiles now super shiny and gleaming. later the aircon and glass suppliers sure to put down/drag stuff and tiles will have some scratches etc Thats why chemical wash must the last job. The ID did a bad planning.. no matter how careful they say they will be. if possible, get them to use carton box to cover the tiles again.. trolly wheels or boxes dragged sure to leave some unslightly damage. that said, i must say a big WOAH!!!!!!! look at your home... it looks awsome and ready!!! just need a bed and can sleep there already.. lol, u already took a nap.. comparing your pg 1 to pg 17, can see how far the journey you have travelled.. the highs and lows.. Congrats Ryan!

wow ryan, so much progress since i last viewed your post.. (was busy with Deepavali and sick for almost 2wks) Now that I pop in, its like your hse is already 50% settled. even the furnitures and electrical appliences have been brought. (I so like your sofa!!!! its something what i am looking for too) The work station looks nice too, can even double up as dinning table. Looking forward to see once the lights and bathroom fixtures are up! (see how $3000 looks after being intstalled.. lol) I really have to applaud your determination. you bought almost all from different places. I dono i will have the energy to do it. Especially the furnishing items. It takes a lot of time and effort to search for the most ideal type to suit the hse theme. i don't even know where to look for a 1 shop that i can get all items.. (electrical items i have already decided to get from Kong Tai as they give the best price) And your carpentery sketches.. soo cheem.. hahaha.. this part, i really will have to take my ID's word for it. i sux at art & drawing. really cannot visual anything about all these until Yvonne vomit blood. i just ask her show me 3D to prevent her early demise. *No worries abt the DB box. i offered to get 2nd quote as i find $750 is like daylight robbery. I am happy you manage to get it $350. Yvonne will be cool about it. Of course have to pick the best price, plus he is your carpenter, if can squeeze him to do up as a free gift.. even better.. hahaha.

haha.. i just like the design. but of couse due to size limitation, will be mini version if i plan to do it. lights wise, sure will have 2 tone, purple and white. have to be practical when dining time must be bright enough. i quite like purple lights (holiday in hua hin time stayed in awesome villa, that have moonlight theme. night time we turn on.. was purple led lights with stars) it was very nice and calming.. (how often i turn on in my hse? i dono.. hahaha..) maybe those nights i just wana chill and sit in my massage chair.. will on.. and yes, u brought up a good point.. celing fan!!!! i will definately need celing fan to circulate the air.. if that clashes with the circular cove light, i will have to consider opting for rectangle shape (easier to vaccum) On Eubiq topic, my neighbour shared the pricelist.. (seem reasonable.. the package deal) areas i plan to put are 1. kitchen which i put microwave, rice cooker and coffee machine. 2.Dining table/study table area to charge personal devices. As for your DB box, have link up with my ID, hope she can quote you a more decent price by afternoon.

hi ryan, exciting new progresses.. saw the tiles and cement stack up and was like... 'wow... the works are gonna start soon' reading abt the aircon trunking makes me realise i never think abt it.. either have to paint to camouflage or conceal with false wall. mmoh brought up a good point. we had to overhaul the aircon system late last year, (last few years haze really damaged the compressor beyond repair). also tear out trunking to replace pipes also since gain city hard sell dono what 'super duper pipe' and my parents bought the idea.. so left with mismatched colours as we painted the trunking and replacement was white.. (repaint again lor.. Zzzz) u doing cove light... me too.... doing a cove light.. i saw a design i like alot.. i will post it below.. mainly because the puple light attract me alot (hope maintanance wise won't be very hard, i.e. no trap dust or have lizard family stay there... lol) Also saw the after pic (wall hacked seperating the bedroom and hall). looks soo spacious. i am wondering how u plan to keep the aircon contained in your room at night? have a curtain to close up? or u just opted for open concept without any barrier from hall to bedroom. like tat need strong aircon btu. The electrical cost 3K.. but like you said, this $ have to spend.. no choice... btw, have you heard of eubiq? i plan to put it.. it has very clean look and won't have the power points sticking out at various places. looks sleek and clean. the sliding door is very expensive.. can you reject it and get another contract to it a lower price? if you want, i can get my ID frend to help source. i am sure u can save at least few hundreds lah.. let me know ok.

oh dear... the wall space so small... this is the area i plan put the 65 inch tv so that i will a good distance to place sofa *nearer to living room window * to watch TV. seeing that the stupid db box door already take some space up. can i still place my desired TV?! T_T (if opt for sliding door, will it block the circuit breaker?) now looks like i have to make a 180 degree turn.... place TV at window and sofa in middle and dinning table at circuit breaker.. iyo! i have so many questions running thru' my head! shows cannot vision the placement of items till physically see the house.. anyway, back to your progress, the after pictures look very much better! after you shorten the laundery rack and remove that hideous sliding door.. Can i check how much you bought the aircon? i also planning to get daikin as i heard feedback the compressor less noiser den mitshubishi. Also your plan is to have a open bedroom? i.e no doors just from bed can see tv in living room? coz your 3D model was like that.. so your aircon is just 1 system (cover both bedroom and living room ah?) Thank you very much for taking the pics i requested. i really help me vision how my hse will look like...

Wow! i was so excited to see the pics, coz our flr plan is almost the same! thank you very much for sharing and hope u can share more from different angles.. hahaha.. thanks in advance. Happy to see the living room look spacious.. as you know, my heart is set on 65 inch curve tv. the kitchen however looks very small.. i mean, place fridge, washing machine, sink and stove, how much kitchen cabinets can i fit in? maybe i have to bank in on the top cabinets so that i have adequate space to store stuff.. (hope u can share pics on of kitchen celing, wanted to see the laundry rack. have i feeling i might remove it if it too low... The bedroom sliding door seems bulky and clumpy.. (can share the floor pics, i want to see the track lines and how much space the doors take) i might have to replace with barn door or seal it with bricks and have door type (like 45sqm rooms) can also share pics on the DBbox. would like to see how much space it take up... its right smack in the living room, the area i plan to put my TV. not sure the door when open will take up how much space. Congrats Ryan, really happy that you have finally gotten the keys.. and good to see your ID getting all down business to help you.. wishing your a very smooth reno! Pls do share more pics..

thanks mmoh, even though i have an ID, i am still working extra hard on my house design. i want my house to be a practical place to live in, ID's vision is to make it into showroom... that's why most of my ID design, i shoot down mercilessly.. hahaha.. end up, i have to roll up my sleeves and do it myself. luckily this forum helped alot.. alot of things my ID said not possible, i showed photos to prove her otherwise.. e.g. the toilet wall that andotang did below, to extend the wet area (i didn't want a small L shape shower screen) hire friend who is an ID, has pros and cons! while she continuously annoy me saying she knows me best, swearing i won't cook much or will regret having a bigger wet area toilet by depriving a smaller dry area etc... but at least i know i won't meet a crooked ID who will do a mediocre job or M.I.A. plus i will have life long warranty, coz every time we meet up, i will harp on fixing some stuff.. lol.. that's what we will do during our monthly gathering as all my circle of friends have all hired her to do the reno. the pros outweigh the cons.. i guess.. Also i went to kong tai electrical to check price! and they are definitely cheaper then gain city. i took my friend's gain city invoice. eg. a Hitachi 6 door fridge (RSF45FMS-SH) that my frend bought at 'bto unbeatable price' of 2.6K with 1 free rice cooker, kong tai quote me 2.2K with same free gift of rice cooker + 1 blender. i immediately made my mind that i am not going to buy for these big name mega stores.. not really any savings as they touted to be...

Yes, after months of seeing the 3D Model, you can finally step into your flat and visualize the actual design.. how exciting.. i think by End Oct, you can move in already.. Finally, under your own roof! 4 Qtr is really an ideal period to get keys... (at least for me, its the jackpot) that's why i was praying hard i can get it.. its the lull period for me and that is when we will start clearing our annual leaves. it would have been great to have the time off to run ard for my reno and purchase and focus 100% on house and not work. but sadly its not meant to be! i get at 1 Qtr 18, when it will be so disruptive to take leaves to run ard for key collection/appliance shopping and reno spotcheck. i don't think i can peacefully take leave and settle my house stuff as beginning of the year is when work starts full swing. my focus cannot be 100% at my house... so that will answer your blog question.. sadly, i won't have the bandwidth to maintain a blog. but i believe i will come to forum ask the for advise when i get stuck with reno issues.. especially from mmoh and you (since u all been there, done that) Hope you all can patiently guide me along..

RuFus58 replied to mmoh's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
congrats! which BTO did you apply? type 1 or 2? mine is west ridges (bt.batok), type 1. this thread is very useful.. i read it a few years back, yet to receive my keys, but i learn alot of info.
