  1. If you have very firm ideas and you have the time to coordinate with the different sub-cons, you may want to consider a contractor. But if you want additional input and don't have that much time to coordinate, then maybe an id is better.
  2. Thank you for your kind words yellowteacups. I'll pm you.
  3. Haha adelante, I liked how my id did that wall up too. I'll pm you.
  4. Thanks trcd. I'm aiming to do it sometime in the 3rd-4th week of August. Hopefully the place will be 99% ready by then.
  5. Try not to think too much about the Hungry Ghost month. I was bothered about renovating and moving in during that time but someone told me that if the other non-Chinese races continue to renovate and move during that period with no mishaps, why are the Chinese so special... I was more relaxed about it. Glad to see that things are shaping up. There will be hiccups along the way and I've encountered my fair share but as long as it is generally going well, I decided not to be too fussed about things.
  6. Looking forward to more updates. All the best for your reno journey.
  7. Thanks @bykaraanne. I think this shade of grey goes much better than the previous shade.
  8. @Starrain and @infinity2015 Thank you both for the compliments. I am checking with my id now. I'll pm the both of you when he gets back to me.
  9. 4-5 feet will be tough. If you want to shift a little bit, maybe about 1 foot, may still be possible. But not many will do it in case something screws up.
  10. As mentioned in my post above, quite a bit of work has been done. In fact, I would say about 90% of the reno is done. What's left to do now are the finishing touches. Installing bathroom fixtures, light switches, polishing my living and bedroom floors. Here are some picture of my almost complete home. This is my living room cabinets. Close up of the handles which my ID painstakingly tried to get right. It was a good job and I'm happy he put in so much effort. http:// They've also changed the colour of my living/dining room walls. It used to be cool grey which resulted in a very bluish tinge in bright light. It's now a warm grey which I think works better with colour scheme. Also I've decided to have better lighting in my dining room area. But, I don't know what to get. I don't want pendent lights so I'm still trying to figure out what I can put in the dining area to illuminate it more. http:// As for my kitchen, it is mainly done. Almost all the cupboard doors are up and they have put up a dark coloured backsplash. I really like the backsplash. http:// My bedroom wardrobe area is also mainly done and so too my platform bed. The first picture is what I'll see when I walk into my mbr. The mirror makes the space look so much bigger than it is. The second picture shows my platform bed with the two built-in side tables. The frame above my headboard is purely decorative and it will be hollow, i.e. I'm not going to install any glass in that space. http:// http://
  11. @pankponk Thank you. Yah, my id took about a month to look for the handles and when he couldn't find what he wanted, got it fabricated. Most of the work is done, should be bale to post the final results soon.
  12. @Raike Thank you very much. Yes, he is very responsible. I've sent a pm to you.
  13. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, he is actually more ngeow than me. I've sent you a PM.
  14. Hi El LoCo, pm sent. Sorry, can't tell you that much about the durability. Haven't moved in yet. But it odes look and feel solid. Also, it isn't smooth, there is a bit of texture to it.
