  1. My number plate dropped. Complained directly to hdb officer in charge of our block. Sub con came after a few weeks, removed plate, said did not have spare parts so must bring back to service, took down my mobile number and promised to return 1 week later. Have not heard from them since. I am now living without a unit plate. (And that was 3 weeks ago) Yay. Quite a couple of forumers in here actually did change the bolts, including myself. Its a "just to be sure" mentality. My direct neighbour doesnt see the need though. Its your call.
  2. Ms bean and all, my advise will be to write in to the hdb officer in charge of your block and complain. You can go into the hdb website and into your profile to see who is in charge. I wrote in to mine and the response was pretty quick. They would call though, my guess would be they would not wan to email us so that we could not use anything as evidence in case the matters blow up. hdb infoweb services https://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BF02SPI...app/FI10PPORTAL Under my flat tab, there will be a name and email address that you can email directly for answers. I would also advise anyone (reading, active or just lurking in this forum) who has problems to write in, the counter argument that the project officer is providing is that if the problem is common, why am I the only person out of 1305 households complaining. I guess most of my neighbors already rectified it themselves, seeing how efficient the contractors are, or has decided to live with it. Therefore, I urge everyone who has problems similar to ours, to make a **** of a din to the officers assigned to your block provided in the hdb website. =) nite
  3. I do not have the number, but i remember vividly someone here has his contacts. =) Anyways, I think he will go around the buildings again on the weekends to knock on the doors to sell his wares. I did mine last weekend when he showed up.
  4. And I thought I was the only one encountering some of the above problems after I moved in. a) The wife complained that I was not flushing the toilet bowl properly after usage, when I vividly remembered flushing. I tried some experiments last nite and found that even without any toilet paper, the water takes a long time to be drained from the bowl, filling up the bowl almost to the brim in the meantime. Imagine how worse could it be when there are additional material in the bowl. I was afraid that the water might flow over from the toilet bowl. b) The metal gate locking mechanism at the hinge cannot be used. According to my contractor, the spring loaded hinge was not there and thus the locking mechanism could not be used properly. c) Metal gate hinge came off easily, as the sub con did not do a proper job of riveting the hinge to the gate. And like most forumers here, I paid the uncle to replace the hinge and weld them onto the gate. d) My metal gate number plate came loose. Will go home and check about the hole msbean is talking about. I did not do a concrete base as my cabinets are the "floating" type. I will be writing a formal complain letter to the hdb town council about the problems tonight. nite
  5. I would like to recommend Aik Leong (its near to the neighbourhood too, just a few bus stops and you can drop by AV or ABC market for food, or Ikea...). Look for Mrs Koh, the prices are super negotiable. However, as they are distributors of Hitachi and Electrolux products, she will generally psycho you to purchase products from these two brands. Although I might add that she does make the offer very attractive for you to resist. The good thing is, they can deliver the goods anytime, even the next day! (I know, course I've pulled that stunt just a few weeks before.) So yay, being the lazy me, I bought all my electronic stuff there. =P They can also get for you models from other brands too, although they are not on display. =)

  7. We are talking abt the corridors before entering the house at 27A. The house itself is not so bad, the natural light flows in from the living room, thanks to the full length window. However, when you are at the corridors at the lower floors, and both neighbours close their doors, then the alley will be dark even though it is blazing outside.
  8. Only those living at the lower floors are facing this problem as the natural light is "self-blocked" by the higher floors inherent in the design of the building. Those living in the higher floors generally do not face this problem as there there are lesser "self-obstruction" as you go higher up. Been wondering what I can do on my part to brighten up the place ever since I recieved the keys.
  9. =) shucks, my england seriously cmi. Technincally speaking, the higher you are, the nearer you are to the lightning too. =P
  10. Hi X|an, Ya, got it from ballot. Can consider very lucky liao. Machiam strike 4D. Heh. Saw your blog and noticed you are living in the upper floors. =) Its so much better up there. Haha, went up there to kaypo last sunday after my morning jog to kaypo kaypo and found that the natural lightning conditions and ventilation to be so much better than the lower floors. Wondering now what I can do to brighten up the corridors.. hmmm...
  11. By the time its my turn to choose the flat, I've don't have much choice already. =P its <15 storey. Envy those on the higher floors, more light and breeze. My corridor is so dim and gloomy. Btw, I'm in the collected keys section. =)
  12. Newbie in the forum, but have been lurking around ever since 2-3 weeks ago due to the flat. Any neighbours at 27A starting reno soon? Want to go kaypo after my runs on Sunday morning. Bought the unit at 27A to siam the noise that might be generated from the MPC (though that the MPC is the facility that will be the venue that will hold events, i.e. funerals, community functions) but found that the MPC is actually the hard court and the sheltered pavallion that the events might be holding is situated near the flat.
