Ideal House Id
eniglda replied to kajua's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
My ID is Johnny too. Same as LLHome. In fact, i think i went to LLhome to check out johnny's work before. The one with the pool table.. very nicely done. My reno started last 2 weeks ago. so far so good. i like to change my mind often so he's quite patient with me. plus i have to follow my fengshui advice too, so he tried his best to accomodate everything together. like my fengshui guy told me i have to try to go green and avoid black and blue. altho it's the 1st time johnny's using green (e.g. lime green wall for my kid's room, and dark green laminates for 1 wardrobe), he gave me his professional advice on what kind of green looks nice etc. well, painting starting today. i'll go check out how the actual turnout is like. will post pictures soon! -
Hi, can i know when you advise System 2 for Living + Dining, you are assuming a large area for living & dining? my place is very small, a 90sqm 4 room flat.. Was actually thinking of only having system 4. One aircon each in the 3 bedrooms, and only 1 for the dining/living area (which is not segregated).. anyway, i seldom on the aircon for the living/dining area. but usage in at least 2 of the bedrooms will be nightly..

Met John after receiving his quotation. He is easy to talk to, and I can sense his pride in doing a job. According to him, he will help clients source for furniture that matches the design of the flat.. my husband and I liked the fact that he sticks by his opinions and makes his own decisions against client's wishes, and rationalise it with us.. unlike other IDs who may just "yes yes yes" all the way but problems crop up later.. i believe it's value-added service.. but we are unlikely going to take him since pricing-wise, there's room for improvement. still searching for ID.....

$$ 1st Payment ?
eniglda replied to hui2426's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
yes, pls neg for 10-40-40-10. and if your ID is flexi enough, I suppose you can talk terms through. It's too insecure to pay that high up front. talking abt thousands here man. -
Opinion On This Quotation
eniglda replied to smurfy's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
ya, your carpentry very expensive. your kitchen alone cost a bomb! look out for payment terms, and read the fine print. Whatever he quoted you verbally, make sure he put it down in black and white in the re-quote. and best dun let him know you are pressed for time. -

Sorry, i ride on this thread to ask some questions ok? Ideal House gave me quite a good quote but when i compare with other IDs quotation, some things vary. So need to ask for advice: 1) If they say inlet/outlet of sink -> do they mean they help me install sink too? Coz some IDs also specify that they install sink. if you do inlet/outlet, i suppose it will also include installing sink? 2) Do I need IDs to quote me for doing SCV points, telephone points, doorbell point? Some IDs specify they will help me do these. But others don't. 3) Ideal House told me they are using Grade A homogeneous tiles for my living/dining and laminates from Supreme. The grade is AC 5. Hmm.. i read from advice in Renotalk to ask for the range and grade of tiles. Now that i have the info, I dunno if it's good or not! -_-" 4) Some IDs quoted me the cost of doing grilles for my flat. Would it be cheaper if I just engaged my own contractor to do the grilles? For advice pls! -
ya, it's the one with Zoe's endorsement. Also got Phua Chu Kang endorsement i think. my friend got them too and recommended to me, saying that it's the FIRST ISO certified ID firm in SG. But it's not v impt to me so i didn't bother. not my shortlisted choice.. my friend hasn't started reno yet so too bad, no pics to show.. i suppose they'll be ok, but maybe pricing not so competitive since they are quite established? not sure..

i did quite a bit of homework.. that's why it's so tiring. Renotalk is indeed quite useful in getting tips for the reno.. so day in day out at renotalk.. Preference is towards Ideal House now since there are so many good recommendations. by the way, anyone has t-blogs with ID Ideal House?? -

Ya, i think so too. anyway, this Johnny guy seems quite nice. His quote is among the lowest I've received - like you all said, Ideal House sticks to the budget that you asked for. That's the point of it mah. He also answers my email questions very promptly. I'm going to make appt with him this Saturday. Looking fowrard. My current 3 choices of IDs are Ideal House, Desprit, Earnest Interiors and Intradesign. Still waiting for the last 2 to revert to me. If they don't come back with good quotations, then the job most likely will be between Ideal House and Despirit. I'm so looking forward to closing my ID sourcing.. it's tiring man.. -_-" -

Seeing all the recommendations here for Mr K, I also went to ask Mr K for quotation. But he said he is too busy and he asked his colleague Johnny to take over. A little disappointed. But I will see what Johnny can offer me. -

Hello, I'm currently looking for IDs and giving them my requirements. Initially, I wanted to have a built-in TV console, storage like Book shelfs etc. But pple advised that it's much cheaper to get TV console outside. Generally, built-in TV consoles by IDs cost me abt $900. So i took the advice from pple to get store-bought ones (tho I haven found nice ones yet ... still early..) Question is what furniture shld be built in and what furniture shld be bought from outside? I suppose wardrobes definitely must be built in? Cost abt $2,500 for Lshape wardrobes. Also going to built in shoe cabinet.. what do you think?
