  1. I have recently lost 8kg in just 3 weeks and I am just dying to share my testimonial with anyone! Please don't just take my word for it, if you are really keen, I can show you my amazing "before and after" photo. Then things got even better, my friend also recommended to me this new anti-aging technology from the leading skincare company in the US and now I can even make myself look 10-20 years younger! Unlike all the other anti-aging technology in the market that works on the cellular level, this particular one works at the DNA level! Results can be seen just after one use! If you have a personal problem like weight or skin issues and you are not particularly happy with where you are now, you don't have to put up with the situation anymore. I think I may have found the solution to totally transform you to who you really want to be (at a very affordable price too) At the end of the day, beauty and good looks are only skin-deep, besides regaining our appearance and confidance, more importantly though is that we will also regain our health and be less of a risk or burden to our family. If you are like me who used to weigh 98kg and think that nothing can be done about it, please call me at 98354767 and I will show you otherwise. Nobody in this world needs to have a weight problem and everybody can look young with today's technology. I will be more than happy to share my experience with anyone who is open. Mitchell
  2. hi guys long time never log in... First thanks to Meowie for showing me and my son her lovely-home yesterday...your 2 dogs are fun! Just though of sharing this stall selling very nice char kuay teow at TPY central. This is at the coffeeshop adjacent to KFC. I tell u, the char kuay teow is really solid- done the traditional way and full of sinful ingredients! My third time eating here already since I found the place last week...In fact, i am writing this post from the coffeeshop now!
  3. It's like the age-old saying: You can do anything you want but don't get caught! But the young couple you describe is way beyond that! But I must say that our town council has made a miscalculated move when they shut down the Toa Payoh Tower at TPY garden. Don't they realise the significance of such a move??? The young couples in TPY now had no way to go to to make out!
  4. It is quite sad the way kids are behaving these days. Have they received any form of moral education or is this a sad case of busy Singaporeans neglecting their kids and allowing them get out-of-control? "Moulding" is a nice word, but it is really just the use of FORCE and PRESSURE on a subject until it CONFORMS to a certain SHAPE! If the schools and parents cannot use the necessary force and pressure, maybe the community can do something instead. Send them a strong message that their behavior is simply unacceptable and let them have something serious to think about! Like one famous doctor always used to say (and Strawberrypear knows this), "If you don't discipline your child now, someday the police will do it for you!" Let these students know that there will be CONSEQUENCES for their unruly behaviour! Hit them where it hurts most: Their pride and reputation! And they will simply have to accept punishment by the law for their actions! Who knows, maybe we are even doing them a big favor if we can wake up their ideas now - before they sink even deeper! The solution is really simple: Photo evidences to be sent to the police stations, schools and if we are really mean: STOMP! Many times the police cannot do anything because the pransker ran away before they can be caught in the act. With photo evidences, a picture says a thousand words - so appropriate punishment can be dealt with. The last I know, graffiti is an offence punishable by CANING! And we even caned an American, despite pleas of cleamency from the US President. One smack and I am sure they will wake up their ideas! So they still wanna smooch smooch and hug hug in their school uniforms? Well, I am sure their school Principals will be very interested to look into such matters too, not forgetting their parents too! Come on, this is Singapore, no respectable school will allow its good name to be tarnished. If such matters goes public, I am sure heavy punishment will follow. And once the word is out, I am sure students from these schools will avoid our Sky Garden like the plague! And we can have our peaceful garden back
  5. Opps...I think I know this family. In fact I just had breakfast with the wife and her daughter this morning at FoodPark. They are really very nice people and I am quite sure they would not have done this if they had known of the consequences. I think it might be good if you can talk to them directly...let me know if I can be of any help too....
  6. Congrats to Meowie & hubby and congee77 & sushibabe too! Welcome to the CLUB!
  7. My mum swears by Ang Mo! She will actually WALK from her place at Kim Keat Link just to get cheap stuff here!!!
  8. Hi TPY, it is fine to be outspoken and have a different point of view, but I don't think it is right to be so blunt and insensitive that you cause distress to other fellow forumners. It is ironic that you sign off asking people to "have fun" when the post and comments that you make often serve to create the exact opposite reaction from other users of the forum. I personally value this forum as a vehicle to allow residents of Blk79 to get together and improve our neighborly relations. I have met many wonderful and helpful neighbours and we have all become very good friends. I am therefore very dissapointed to know that your insensitive comments had actually caused one of our much valued forum member to stop her contribution and stay away from this forum. Many of our fellow forumners had already spoken up for her, but you just kept silent. Then instead of reflecting on your actions, you have now started another mess all over again. It's very easy to say let's move on and forget about it, but it is only right that you first assume responsibility for your own actions. For this, I feel that an apology from you is due to show us your sincerity. Do give this a serious thought. Regards,
  9. Wow...7.30am is very early! I will still be getting ready to send my wife and boy to work and childcare at that time. The fried beehoon is of from the Chang Chen (Mixed Vege Rice stall). Not sure if they are ready by 7.30am though. What do you usually buy for breakfast anyway?
  10. Hmmm...Haven't got time to log in for a while already...miss everybody. Just want to say that I have been going to the FoodPark regularly for my breakfast for the past few weeks already. Must say that the standard of the Char Bee Hoon, Kuay Teow and Mee had improved quite a bit and they now taste a lot better than when they first started. Back then, the Bee Hoon is really dry and tasteless (as in really no taste!), now there is more texture and taste . The price is quite reasonable too: 1. Noodle = $1 2. Luncheon Meat =50 cents 3. Egg = 50cents 4. Sausage = 50cents 5. Big Fish Cake = $1 Note: above is my own deduction, never really asked him abou tthe unit price. Meaning, i could be wrong! Sadly enough, there is alwasy no breakfast crowd in the morning and the cook was always shaking his head to me everytime I bought from him. Hope some of you guys can give some support as well, otherwise, I will also lose my breakfast spot if they decide not to do breakfast anymore!! Anyway, I will most probably be there at around 8.15am to 8.30am in the weekdays, hope to catch some of you there next time!
  11. Wah...we almost bought one the last time at my old place. One of our friends gave our contacts. Very persistent salesperson, but must say that she is very friendly and nice. It is one of those items that you cannot bear yourself to say no, but I had to do it eventually cos it is really expensive and out of our budget. I don't have much experience here, but it all sounded too familiar like those fuel efficiency booster for cars. I have since tried magnets, super lubricants and air-intake devices and so on and so forth for my car. The brochures claimed can save me a lot of petrol and improve performance by XXX%. So far after more than 2 years of trying...NO DIFFERENCE LEH!!
  12. I think you mean this, as opposed to the one that opens upwards with hydraulic hinges, right? It just means that instead of one big panel, you will have two smaller bi-fold panels that opens sideways. I dunno, but I somehow think that the big horizontal panel design will define the wash area more distinctly and adds variety to the cabinet design by breaking-away from the bi-fold vertical design used for most part of the cabinets. But of course I could be wrong lah....but in any case, do consider asking your ID to include aluminium frame doors with frosted glass (as in the picture) regardless of which design you go with eventually. They will cost a bit more, but the effect is definitely there. My ID just gave me wooden frames initially and I asked for them to be changed. The cabinet looks so much better after the change...
  13. U are so kind...... The truth is that I was frantically hiding our personal stuff away for about 20 mins before you and meepok arrived! So imagine my shock when I opened the door and you were there already! Haha! Then of course there was that strange locksmith uncle standing there too....I was a bit confused initially cos I don't recall you mentioning that there will be an "uncle" joining in as well!
  14. No problem at all, just sms me when you feel like dropping by. My best timings are weekdays around 6.30pm to 7pm. But just bear in mind that my house is in a "live-in" condition, so please excuse the messiness (including the laundry, stuff all over the place etc etc....) Cheers!
  15. Not at all. Our windows are all southward facing. In the morning, the sun will cut just in a bit into our right walls for all rooms. Same thing for the left walls in the afternoon, but only very slightly in both cases.
  16. We were about to leave my house to pick up my son when we heard the distinct boom of the fireworks! My wife shouted excitedly "Got fireworks, come quick!!" I rushed to the living room and was greeted with the most beautiful fireworks display that I have ever seen in a long, long while! It was so much better than the CNY and New Year day's fireworks!! Big, colourful and IN-YOUR-FACE! That's how all fireworks displays should be like. Anyway, after recovering slightly from the awesome sight, I remembered that my boy likes fireworks too! "Must videotape for him to see!" I thought cleverly and proudly to myself...I quickly rushed to get my video camera out, took-out the lens cap, flipped opened the LCD, turn-on the power, aim at the fireworks and....THEN ITS WAS ALL OVER Why can't they have a longer show?????????
  17. You are most welcome to see it...but as Meowie and Meepok would also have noticed, it is really very simple and plain (don't have awesome wardrobes and beautiful designer kitchen !! like yours!).
  18. Sure, Sure, just sms me when you are available. My timing is not very fix over the weekends but generally speaking, afternoons should be better - around 3.30pm to 4.30pm. There would be a few things I like to show you: - That the bomb shelter tic-tack door can indeed be made to be level - That rectification done to laminate surfaces, if not done professionally, may only worsen the situation. Wanna show you my bookcase door where they changed the laminate without changing the ABS trimmings. Resulted in uneven gaps that needed to be filled in with ugly white fillers - The completed varnished pebbled stone flooring - Same "floating" sensation on my laminate flooring in my MBR - come and think of it, it has actually improved a bit already over time... - Effects of wallpaper in MBR (you can also consider investing in them) - Some homemade DIY solutions to brighten up your home Cheers!
  19. 5rm just means that we have a larger hall...but not much else! Our kitchen and bedroom 1 are in fact smaller than the 4 room units! But then your 4-room is even more extraordinary lah, 2 rooms become 1! So got a super jumbo sized MBR - Must say that its a very daring move, but no denying tha the overall effect is very nice and impressive! Don't want to mention your knock-out award-winning wardrobe again, but mine is pathetic compared to yours! Just a simple L-shape...
  20. Very paiseh that I got to leave in an hurry last Saturday cos got to go and pickup my son from my mom's place. My place is really nothing to shout about, but if you like to have a peek, just give me a sms !! My best timings will be weekdays around 6.30pm to 6.45pm....Cheers!
  21. Wow, did not log in over the weekends and so much has happended since! Anyway, thanks so much for all the wonderful neigbors who have opened up your lovely homes for us to view on Saturday. Nice to meet the other neighbors too who are on the house-hopping trip, sorry did not get all your names, but I am sure there will alwasy be a next time! Special thanks goes to Tension_z, Meowie, Meepok, Bonkitty and Liana79B whose houses I have personally visited (did I miss anybody out?). So exciting to see all the different ideas, themes and concepts and see until my eyes go blurr! All the units are at different stages of completion, but I can see that all will end up very nice homes eventually. Then of course there are the bright ideas that really stand out lah: - Cannot resist but to first mention Liana79B's knockout wardrobe and fully "Blumed" kitchen - I think my wife will faint if she ever sees this! - Meowie's wet/dry kitchen concept is also very unique and I can already imagine how cosy their living area will be. She said got area planned for wine chillers and a large fridge - can already imagine them sipping wine and sitting by a bar counter - how romantic! - Bonkitty's unit is still in progress and most of the laminates and doors are still not up, but can already tell that their toilets has a nice designer touch. Can also imagine that the TV console area will be quite nice once the mirrors are in place - I think without question, Meepok has found himself a very good carpenter. Very impressed with the workmanship of the kitchen cabinets. Everything swee swee and to the point. Saw the uncle at work and can tell that his is an "old-hand". Although they are going for mininal buildup, the items done are of really solid quality. Love the nice and practical wardrobe with color coordinated laminates with the wall. The bomb shelter is also very nicely done up and goes perfectly well with the black mirror for the living room! - Tension_z has got a functional WIW that will be the envy of many! Granted the workmanship can be a bit better, but still it's a practical and roomy solution to hang all your favorite clothes for display! The pebbled stone walkway is also unique and adds a resort-like feel to her home. They may not look very much now, but I knew that they will stand out once the coat of lacquer is applied (cos I got the same thing too). The large mirror on her (slanted) bombshelter door would also do a lot to create a sense of space in the living room Congrats to all for being proud owners of your lovely Blk79 apartments!
  22. Hi Tension_z, Thanks for your kind comments. But I think you guys will be dissapointed to see the actual thing...it is really quite plain (perhaps it's just my photography skills at work!) Looking forward to meeting everyone...! Cheers! Wahhh...like that must go back and clean and tidy up my place already! It's in a mess right now!
  23. Hi tension_z, Can I join in to KPO KPO? Could you PM me your unit if convenient? Cheers!
  24. The bottom grilles can't be helped cos HDB already installed them and we are not suppose to remove . The top ones are necessary cos got small boy at home...safety first. Besides, we got to do something to shut up all our visitors! Everytime someone comes up, we got another lecture on windows safety...since installing the grilles, no more of such lectures! Ha Ha!
  25. It's very simple and can DIY. You just need the following items and some assistance from the carpentry guys: - Hi-res photo - can be downloaded readily - Two wooden square poles - can order from your carpentry guys - Picture hooks - 2 to 3 sets - Some PVC art-board for additional support along the edges - Double-sided tape The picture can be printed on canvas material at many of those shops specialising in outdoor advertising banners. Many of them at Bras Basah or Peace Centre - Will need the carpentry guys to help glue the canvas to the poles, drill and mount the picture hooks on the wall and on the poles - Use the PVC art-board to add support along the edges to prevent warping at the sides...Wallah, you are done! Total cost of production: Less than $250!
