gumbokins replied to gumbokins's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
so far only one graffiti that my hubby managed to clean off quite easily. but he was quite worked up last night. i'm sitting at home, half expecting the ah long to bash down my door, in which case, i will just tell them, bring it on man, coz no ah long is a match for this mummy and her new laminted flooring. LOL! -

haha yah man. make poster bigbig... we have her number and her address, just don't know how reliable because she seems to give a different one each time. my mum said to ask when did she take the loan..if it was after the sale of the flat, then she can get into trouble for not changing her address on her IC. which i also have not done, but then again, I was staying at my parents' plc before this.. -
launching in Nov. and even then, it looks like they're locked. UK to O2, germany to T-mobile. which telco is going to have the exclusive rights to the iPhone in SG??
-

it's a very long, messy affair. we only found out about the overdue S&C on the day of the 2nd appt. trust me, we would hv withdrawn if we could. i asked the tenants who were staying there if they had any O$P$ problems, looked around for any traces of the graffiti, didn't find any. let's see what happens over the next few days. -
we had a lot of difficulty procuring this flat as the seller was deep in debt. imagine, she had not paid her S&C from 2005, among other things, leaving us to settle her debt of almost $15k before we finally got the flat. so we kinda knew this was going to happen, just didn't know when. came home from dinner tonight, got into the lift, and when the door closed, we found ourselves staring at our unit number scribbled in red marker pen. great. dh called the number and straightened things out with them. but if that recent episode of tab tv is anything to go by, the loansharks might hold us responsible for the ex-owner's debt. everytime i hear a noise outside my imagination goes wild..."oh it's them splashing paint on my door...chaining up my gate..hanging a bloodied pig's head.." just my luck to kena such a seller man. by the time we realised what kind of person she was, we had too much invested in the flat already. sighs.

i thought contiki was more for singles looking to hook up? kinda like a matchmaking tour...

i *think*, and i haven't been updated in a while, the Apple iPhone is locked to the AT &T network in the US, so cannot use other telco. some kid actually managed to unlock it, but then Apple released an update that will 'break' the unlocking. so you can't actually do anything on it yet, apart from surf and watch vids.

False Ceiling And False Wall - Can Hold Curtains?
gumbokins replied to hocl's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
my mum used to be in the curtain biz...she says you can try drilling the brackets into the wooden support beams used to construct ur false wall or ceiling. then there are two different types of aluminium brackets; one that is drilled into the wall and another that goes into the ceiling so you can adjust accordingly. i guess material wise don't choose heavy materials also lah. -
ladies, ladies 1) dias = wedding stage for the bride and groom, commonly found at malay weddings. but i take it you won't be needing/wanting one 2) OCC no A/C hall also not that hot... 3) malay wedding ang pao is usually standard $10. when economy bad, ppl give $5. for malay wedding it costs about $8 - $10 per pax, somemore some ppl have multiple weddings to attend in one weekend so it would be very expensive if each wedding must fork out so much. i managed to recoup 90% of the cost for my wedding. 4) in planning weddings, esp at such short notice, 'want' doesn't mean will always get. but now that u mentioned msia..don't want to consider going across the causeway? 5) probably a reason why halal chinese wedding cuisine is hard to find here is because there is no demand for it? it's a very niche market. 6) try to find an event hall/area, because it seems like your only alternative if you still want halal chinese wedding menu. try botanic gardens, parks, CCs...you can set up an A/C tent, also will look very nice. then you also need to find a caterer who can whip up delicious wedding fare.

if suntec dun want..expo? lol! but korea got point leh..dun care about how they get home, just make sure they can get there..hahaha i believe OCC got a few different venues you can book. no sure if got any AC halls, but the weddings i've been to are downstairs and no AC, but if decorated nicely can be quite nice lah. you walk down this long, curving marble staircase to get to it. and part of the OCC deal is a golf wedding buggy. are you planning to get a dias?
-
mark richmond lah. yes he remarried and got a baby. but i think he and beatrice make such a good pair. and no i don't play golf. i've been to a few weddings there so i know. haha. but yah, i think hotels will not be too excited about renting out their ballrooms because like you said, lose money. suntec want?
-
beatrice chia baby boy, sol richmond, is like super fat and super chubby and super cute!! haha! he got his own tv ad..and now beatrice has some parenting show. OCC has shuttle bus service from yishun mrt, every 10 mins. fairy point...u have to go see it. it's at changi, past the commando camp. the view is breathtaking and it's nice, quiet and serene. but for guests without transport will be very cumbersome.

All About Breastfeeding
gumbokins replied to gendon's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
well the nurse can't really do anything now if you're not actually lactating which hospi are u delivering? i know at KKH and ESH, the LC will come around and help you. now you can just start reading up on what to expect. it's not going to be easy, and it will be a road fraught with obstacles, sore nipples, engorgement and constant worrying if bb is getting enough, but stay determined! jia yoh! -
don't go Orchid Country Club hor. the food, like i mentioned earlier, is typical malay wedding fare, briyani, rendang, etc, and it's not very good. then the location also not very nice what. i don't know why ppl say so nice. how many guests? beatrice chia and mark richmond booked the Fairy Point Chalet 7 at Changi..it's a big colonial bungalow with a big field overlooking the sea. you can set up tentage..a beautiful white marquee and lotsa fairy lights. waah.
-
wah, one week before delivery, and they didn't even bother to confirm or inform you about your sofa? i hate it when stuff like this happens..then you find yourself in a tight spot. if you say 'gimme back my money', then you have to hunt around for another sofa...otherwise you have to just settle with whatever they can give you, which might not be to your liking. a loan sofa...how many ppl 'loan' already? is it a nice set?
-
hmm. the crevices under the hanging cabinets..breeding ground for all things nasty, esp if you're not too hot about cleaning, like me
