Asia Excel- Says Hob Corrodes If Fixed Before Cleaning
gumbokins replied to Lakmy's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
lakmy i kinda gv up on alvin liaoz. we hv some minor rectifications outstanding, but i'm like, whatever. at my parents plc, they put the washing machine in the CBR, and it was also in the way of the wc, so we all ended up sitting sideways. lucky no accidents. they eventually renovated the toilets so we could all sit straight again. i don't know what to do about your vanity...when things don't work out, it's your decision, when it does, it's his. -

i think this is known as cashdown though. -
well thats kind of silly. if u dont want to embarass urself even more, dont scold in public lah. if someone offered me a seat, i'll take it gladly, regardless whether im pregnant or not. free seat leh! before i got pregnant i had one gentleman offer me his seat. i took it happily becoz it's a long ride to boon lay, and i thot he gv it to me becoz he pity me hving to study while standing up. then it occured to me, maybe it's coz he thot i was expecting. lols. whatever. then when i was pregnant, my tummy wasnt very obvious which was probably y nobody offered. i've had some ppl kinda glance at me and look like they want to give, but in the end also nvr. then sometimes i will purposely rub my tummy in an absent-minded-preggy-woman kind of way to garner some sympathy but also nvr get. eyer.

i must have missed the memo; what's 'mango' ppl? my contribution is the 'nobody want to give up seat to pregnant woman' lament. haiz.

Asia Excel- Says Hob Corrodes If Fixed Before Cleaning

maybe it;s becoz that they're paid so little that they are so slack. i mean, if i was paid pittance, i'd be like 'yeah, whatever la la la' too. aniwaes off topic wor. -
everytime i see somebody getting married, i want to get married again too! i remember before my ROMM i was so scared. just the anxiety of starting a new chapter of my life with someone else. it also feels like i was going to leave my family. i want my mummy! but i also got very involved with the wedding preps..made me very excited to see the cards, the gifts, the wedding favours. couldn't wait for the food! and how would i look like with my make up!! then the last minute rushing madness to get all the little things. so the only time i had to contemplate about what the future holds for me and the husband was at night before going to sleep. marriage is hard work. all parties involved have to make an effort. but the fact that both of you have decided to take this step together says a lot already. just remember to say I Love You every night before you go to sleep !! best wishes to u and ur future hubby!

the one thing i don't like about bangladeshi workers (and i used to supervise a few at my old job) is when they see a woman 'boss', it means they can slack and do their work at their own pace because it's just a woman. meh. -
Asia Excel- Says Hob Corrodes If Fixed Before Cleaning

lakmy u noe where i am coming from... the guy who was doing my cleaning was happily spraying water all over the place while sms-ing. i had wires hanging down (ends covered with tape) which were not yet completed becoz the cabinets were not in yet. then the current tripped. and he did the cleaning for my place b4 anything was installed btw. -
you hv the mop pail with the 'strainer' or the 'janitor grade' type with the squeegee to wring the mop dry. i think it's great how the pail come with wheels, that way yoy can wheel it ard the house while mopping. magic mops also hv the wet wipes which eliminates the need for a bucket.

or get a bigger stove then hor, are the edges sealed with sealant or are hobs just 'plug and play'?
-
ok. nehmind. i just answered my own question. have to take out the tape measure and start measuring. i'm very sure the cut out is NOT 160 mm shorter than the stove. so in this case, how to rectify? add more bricks ah? ugg.
-
so how much support is actually required for the thing to be stable? should the hob sit on the cut-out (sounds much nicer than 'hole', eh?) with at least a 1.5 - 2" border?
-
no, solid as in brick and mortar kindof solid.
-
We had a solid stove support built and they made the hole to fit the hob. but when we put the hob in, there is a 1.5 inch gap in the width of the hole, and only about 0.5 inches of each end actually sits on the support. we can re-position the hob slightly to cover up the gap, but should the gap even be there, and should it be so wide? Also, as it's almost precariously being supported by just the ends, is that going to be stable enough, in case my mum decides to plop down one huge pot of lodeh on it? how are these things installed anyways? is any sealant or cement put along the edges?

Installing Instant Water Heaters
gumbokins replied to gumbokins's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
*rolls eyes* i called the electrician, he sent his guys down straightaway and they fixed everything up for me. no questions, no finger pointing, no problems. zip, zilch, nada. so i have hot water showers now. if i can find an electrician who does more for cheaper than my ID's, then why i cannot bring in my own guy. it was never stipulated on the reno contract that i MUST use his contact. and the electrician did not give me any problems at all. can't say the same for the rest of the reno. nobody still knows that the thingymajig is for?
