Opening A New Chapter Of Our Lives ... 2nd Home In 7 Years

with the new drawers, you just doubled the storage volume! coooooooooooooooooooooooooooools! -
i just hv to say ur topic title is very interesting. hee. no expert on cats but what ongfam said made sense. the area around ur flat has probably been marked, even if you cant smell it. some ppl say using citrus peels will keep cats away too, but i'm sure you wouldnt want to hv orange peels all around your door. or you can just say hello to the kitty. as for the wireless, i'm not sure i understand. you want to get wireless access with ur singnet broadband?

then ah, i ask you, how are you planning to do your laundry? since you turned your service balcony into a washing area...if you pull out the laundry thingy, is the area still accessible?

my cousin bought a unit there too...and it's lovely. the house is pretty much in move-in condition, great for a new couple with not much finances. from outside look like condo lor. and the view, the gorgeous view. when i saw his place i was thinking 'hmm, maybe i should hv gotten a place there too'. the only thing abt puggol is, if got no transport, really hard to get around.

Utility Bills
gumbokins replied to HSH21's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
i surely hope so. we didnt change our living habits so much that in a mth, the bill can 5x! in fact, earlier, my in=laws came down from the US and stayed a week with us, using the AC the whole time they were home. and the bill was surprising low, even lower than when we were at our 2-room rented. -
Utility Bills
gumbokins replied to HSH21's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
we've been staying at this flat for abt 2.5 mths now. the previous bills hv only been ard 30-40+$. sekali yesterday kena whack with a 150$ bill! OMG! i would have fallen off my chair if it wasnt for the fact i was sitting on the floor. haiyoh. but i hv been home for the past couple of months maybe that's why. HOPEFULLY THAT'S WHY. ugg. -
yah at first when i saw ur shoe cabinet i thot it was from ikea...till you revealed the inside..then confirm not ikea lol. we saw the ones at ikea too, the only one that i really like was the one that doubled as a bench but husband and i are very "healthy" ppl, so it didn't pass the muster. i was looking for a conventional shoe cabinet, solid wood, but the designs these days always hv metal grids or glass top, and i'm not into that look. finally we found one at rattan pacific, made from bamboo. husband decided he really liked that one, plus it also has a low bench. no umbrella holder tho. meh.

Need Some Comments On Theme
gumbokins replied to jetfire's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
imo, yes. unless your main theme is 'unity in diversity'. i think for the bedrooms, it's fine to hv different themes to suit the occupants. but i think the main areas should be more or less same-same because the house should be seen as a whole and not as separate areas. hving a similar theme also allows you to move furniture pieces ard easily. having said that, the theme of my house is 'no theme'. i also think that since it's your house, you can do anything and whatever, because it's yours -
**swoooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnsss your house is so bright, it hurts! (but in a GOOD way!)

went to look for my shoe cabinet yest at kaki bukit, the first few shops i went to all pointed me to crystal house. i hv a friend who is a shoeholic i bet she would love to hv one in the window display. my fav part of ur shoe cabinet is actually the umbrella holder..so practical right? and yet so often overlooked! haiz... but in the end we decicded not to buy. my hubby is bigfoot, doubt the the shoe tree would fit and i dont think i will be able to close the door also hahahah. love the egg chair too!

Cushion Cover Washable For Teak Sofa Bought From Wihardja?
gumbokins replied to whoelse's topic in Home Furnishings
what kind of fabric is it? if it's removable, it should be washable, but cold water only to reduce the likelyhood of shrinking. -
Opening A New Chapter Of Our Lives ... 2nd Home In 7 Years
gumbokins replied to Chunky Monkey's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
yes, well i suppose it's a matter of diet as well...when i was in NZ there were hardly anything left on our plates after eating because everything was boneless, skinless, tastelesss..(). oh, and we were hungry students. the 'auntie' alternative is the 50 cent round basket from the sundry shop heh, preferably red colour. the dishrack is really popular now...mine is similar, and my cousin has the same one in her house. my IKEA dinner plates dont sit very well in that. tsk. -

official handing over of keys is during the 2nd appt, which was about 6 weeks after the first.

i hv concrete solid support for my sink+ stove too. not v big, same tiles as my homo wall tiles., no laminate. ID charged me 600$ for that. i got it at my parents' insistence because their sink @ home is rotting n having leakage problem coz is wood.
