I have 10 yrs warranty for my Kronotex but althought it is so called "warranty". I was told i hv to pay for the labour charges of $80 but materials is free. I have seen them changed my defective planks during renovation period. It was **** of troublesome. They have to remove the skirtings and take out pieces of planks until they reached the defective part. Changed it and put the rest back to place and replaced back the skirtings...This process is for my laminates..not so sure abt others brands of laminates... It wouldn't be very messy but the furnitures may hv to be shifted...

Try Ikea..Galant series. I got it for my study room. The wood used is solid wood and not those chipboard or softwood. They have various sizes to mix and match. CPU holder, extension holder and etc... I have also shortlisted *hi*e, but i would say their quality and design is no where near Ikea.

I also have my chimney shorten coz i have a pillar running across the kitchen. And the hood has to be mounted below the pillar. I did not think of the warranty issue. One thing to take note is not cut off the ventilation vents. if not the air wouldn't be able to escape after being suck in...And it will defeats the purpose of the hood and might as well don't install..

I had left the letterbox key once when i was staying with my parents. Luckily i remembered and quickly dashed down to retrieve back. And after i got my own hse my letterbox key is a separate one.. haha...scared liao...

Hi baldeagle, it is safer not to get postbox key. As in if you accidentally forget to remove the key from the letter box, it is easily identified with the "durolock" imprint and anyone can also easily enter your hse with the key. Just my 2 cents worth.... It is up to individual and no doubt the convenience is there....

Some of the Duro lock has 10 years warranty and if you lose your keys, they will be able to duplicate another one(not sure abt the cost) They have the locks combinations... Nowadays shops/locksmiths ave the equipment(m/c that drill small little holes) to duplicate duro lock keys, but if the key break into 2 pieces, your warranty will be void. 1 key for all is for the "convenience" instead of having 3 keys.. it is better to know what brand of floor laminates, solid top, carpentry laminates and etc they are using.. It is best to itemise these things so that you know that your $$ is worth spent. State clearly in the contract so that you wouldn't end up on the losing end... If not you might end up getting cheapo stuffs... You can still take out items on later stage even though contract has been signed..

As i am a first time hse owner. Personally i think Hobz is ok. Flame is not like those Rest.. Voom.. Hobz is a spin off from Ellane (local brand). PJ was the first CO to carry this brand. Then i saw Chuan Heng hardware also starts to sell. I got only the glass hob and hood. But i heard the price went up.. Initially i also has the same worry, new CO?? Will it closed down? Took the gamble and the rest is history... Easy maintenance for glass hob..The boss will tell you, don't clean the hob immediately after cooking, let it cool down first then clean up..
