Hi everyone, hope y'all are well and all Renos are smooth-sailing! We have been away on a short holiday hence the lack of updates. Renovation has also been slow-moving due to some miscomm with the aircon personnel who came to install the trunking a few days before we left Singapore. Although delaying the trunking would delay the floor tiling, it's no biggie since we aren't in a hurry to move in. So off we went for our winter holiday (so shiok! LOVE WINTER! :sport-smiley-018:) *really short throwback post below* Service Yard Window We were advised to get this as rainwater would splash in and damage the washing machine etc. The noob me didn't even think of that! I was just so taken with all the space and openness! Thankful for parents and professionals Electrical Works After a meeting with our Contractor one day, he proceeded to get his electrician to settle all the electrical works. Because we are using the shorter wall in the Living Room as our TV wall, the TV point also had to be shifted. After creating, shifting and concealing, everything around the house is done! Overlay of Toilet Tiles We actually deliberated a while about whether to overlay the HDB accent tiles in the toilet. In the end, we decided to go for it and this tile at Hafary caught our eye. Really love the different colours embedded in it! End product in the Common Toilet: Can't really see the design/pattern of the tiles in the picture but in real life, it's great! They will be finished off with black grouting * The Aircon guys are actually at the site right now doing up the trunking etc. after being briefed by our Contractor this morning. Shall go down later and hopefully we will have good things to report!

Hi Myjorney, sorry for the late reply, we have been away on a short holiday. Regarding our contractor, my BF and I think that we should wait for more things to be done before revealing his details (just in case there are any screw-ups *TOUCHWOOD*) Hope you understand & good luck on your search! (;

Hi Ryvian, how did the aircon guys route the aircon trunking in your MBR toilet? Did they manage to route it in the same box-up as the existing water pipes? Would very much appreciate if you could snap a few photos of how they did the trunking because we are having our guys come in tomorrow. Thank you!!

Hi Reiki, Thanks to my bf the tech-head haha! All the electronic stuff boggles my mind Thanks for your encouragement! Your house looks really cozy and warm, particularly intrigued by your open concept MBR toilet! So interesting! Does showering steam up the rest of the room though??

Oh, if it is still in good condition then yes, maybe should save first (; I totally get you in terms of furniture selection! We have bought a few items and I keep trying to imagine them in our new house after all the things are done - and of course, second-guessing our choices Luckily my bf is more level-headed and reassuring, if not fickle-minded me will be bouncing off the walls every day

Here to share our Mattress purchase! First, some context ~ My parents recently went on (and have since returned from) a 2-month retirement holiday in Europe where they had oodles of fun! Everyone was jealous of their shenanigans, especially with my mother posting photos of their adventures on FB every day What was a girl to do but have a field day, or rather, few nights (hoho) in their air-conditioned room and on their lovely queen-sized bed~~~ It was only supposed to be for a few nights...BUT BUT BUT! Their mattress was TOO DANG COMFY! My backaches became a distant memory and I woke up each morning feeling refreshed instead of like death warmed up SERIOUSLY?! WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?! HOW CAN A MATTRESS TAKE AWAY MY BACKACHES??? HOW CAN A MATTRESS BE SO AWESOME??? So of course I had to flip the bedsheets and source for that tiny sign that would tell me where I could get a similar piece of heaven for my new home. The answer, ladies and gentlemen, is the Orthopedic Master from Cellini: As enthused on their website, The Orthopedic Master is a firm mattress for sleepers with lower back aches. It prevents the lower back from sinking deeply into the bed and irritating the facet joints. YES YES YES, you marvelous people, you got it right! :D We went to check it out and bought it after the BF gave the approval following a butt & body test. WOOTWOOT! Now I just need to wait a few months until I can be reunited with my soul mate(tress) again P.S. I think it is the best long-term mattress for us because a firm bed can help to lessen the backpains we both experience. But I still do love a good soft and fluffy comforter ala hotel "marshmallow beds" ~ Hopefully we will be able to find an affordable one (; Please let me know if you have any lobangs! TIA~

Hello everyone! I'm the other Galloping P in our (hopefully) hygge-rific home So after we got the fans, we visited Scanteak which was in the same building. I think they are having a sale until the end of Nov if anyone is interested. We saw quite a few potential pieces, afterall, our theme IS Scandinavian Puffin didn't let on why we are so taken with all things Scandi but I'll let you in on the story! We both spent 6 months (at different times) in Norway during our undergraduate years because we were lucky enough to get the chance to go on an exchange programme. Great times! We were young, wild and as free as our limited budget allowed~ Back to 2015~ So we shortlisted some pieces at Scanteak and decided to visit Castlery since there was still time. We had previously visited their online store and did like many of their pieces. The showroom was not big but the staff was really friendly! It was also great that we could test the furniture we had shortlisted. We ended up spending $4+k on the pieces below: Dining Table bundle - comes with 4 chairs! We chose the Charcoal colour (; Dining Bench Sofa in Tiffany Blue This is the actual colour - much nicer in real life! Those interested should really go to their showroom to take a look at the real stuff. Coffee Table Set Bed Frame - Queen And a TV console that's no longer on their website A good day's work! After that, Puffin was on a roll, researching away and getting his feathers all ruffled~ Next post will be on aircons!
