  2. My hubby was in this situation perviously. HDB classified the children as essential occupier. Which means children are added into the ownership of flat when the parents are unable to service the loan. Then the children will therefore, use their CPF to service the loan. After selling the flat or withdrawing the name, HDB will still classified you as a 1st timer. Provided you sign a form saying the flat will be selling under the parents name. In order to withdraw the children name from the ownership of the house, you will have to pay back the amount withdraw from CPF + the amount of interest which would have been accumulated if the money wasn't withdraw. Which could be quite a large sum. In my hubby case, it was close to 40k. My hubby and I was very depress about this issue. Infact we have been upset over it for more than a year before deciding what to do. We've planned to stay with his parents. But we couldn't get a grant if we are buying resale unless he get rid of the house before the 1st appointment. The only way was to sell the house 1st then buy another 1. So they sold the flat this year, and move in when their sister for the time being. For my hubby, lucky their sister is there. Else this problem persist. And also please take note, as when they are selling the flat, my hubby and I have already ROM, I need to be present during the 1st appointment to sign as a form of acknowledge and agree that my hubby is selling the flat. I think a lot of parents never think about future issues or maybe they are unaware. Therefore, just add their children's name into the ownership of the flat. I have warn friends about my situation when they told me their parents wanna add their names in to service the loan using CPF. Hope this little piece of info can help.
  3. Can I have his contact? Would like to ask anyone knows, currently I have single socket at a few points which I wanna convert it to a double socket point. Do they have to do additional wiring? or just change the socket will do? And I really need a cheap and reliable electrician.. anyone to recommend? Cos mostly I only require them to change from single socket to double for me and changing of switches and sockets. New points only a few but my ID's electrician quoting me sky high!
  4. I am not sure abt the skirting, but its the 1st time i see this: Laying floor tiles - 1742.50 (S5.0 psf) Laying Skirting - 280 I thought skirting are usually included in laying of floor tiles? Maybe you might wanna check around? And the false ceiling seems a little expensive. >> U might wanna bargain $2k seems very expensive as my false ceiling quote only abt 1.6k for an EA. But mine only cover balcony, living, dining, MBR. For ur door, you might wanna get them urself.. At expo, promotional price, you can get it for less than 300bucks with door frame.
  5. Wow 15k! Thats really a lot! 15k in fact can be someone's whole reno cost. I do agree with u. A lot of Electricians tries to rip u off with the 1st quote. Some people don't bargain, so from there, those electricians earn more. I think they also trying their luck when they quote. Pray hard those home owners are more of the "chin cai" type, so can let them chop! And I am still waiting for my electrical quote. The 1st time round, I got mad reading the quotes as its really expensive! Even called up my ID and him.. If the next quote still not within my acceptable range, I gonna look for electricians myself instead of depending on the ID again. Anyway gd luck in ur reno chunky!
  6. Ya.. I haf allocate 4 downlights to 1 switch.. so dun haf to on all at the same time. No choice.. my hubby wants. He is worried that the living room not bright enough cos living area quite big. 8. Hi anyone has any cheap and good electrician to introduce? My ID introduce me an electrician and the quote he gave me is **** ridiculous!! Never rewire at all only shift a few points and add some new ones quote me nearly 3k! **** So angry when I saw the quote. Treating me like an idiot!! I think paying $36 for 1 downlight is ridiculous! Imagine I have close to 30 downlight in my design and still I have to purchase the downlights.. end of the day I am paying like 50-60 for 1 downlight which I feel is too much.

  15. so u suggest i just shift or add points instead? I'm quite new to this. Just worry abt 6-7yrs without using.. The cables might corrode? haha.. If only need to add and shift point I will be saving lotsa money!
  16. Not yet. Will be going down to Allbest and check the price again today or tomorrow. Gain City not for me. Their salesperson are too arrogant. My ID quote me 2799 for Mitsu E-Mex Inverter syst 3. I will be going down to see the price diff then decide on the who to choose. If the difference is very minor might be getting from my ID side cos anything i can @#$#@@ him.
