  1. I'm also planning to do this. So far, discussed with ID and contractors and different people have different sayings. But, my observations tell me the max distance between down lights is 3 ft even if you get higher wattage type.
  2. If you intend to custom made the housing, do remember to open some space for ventilation. Saw in freb's blog that he made some vent in his console. Perhaps you can take a look. The racks in Amazon are really cheap compared to here. Wah, the direct shipping from Amazon cost a bomb because it weights around 15 kg. Tried on the site and it want to charge me > sgd200 just for shipping this item alone. Did you managed to waive the charges as some forumers here managed to do? Otherwise, it is really expensive to ship back.
  3. Can I know how do you intend to house the patch panel? I'm looking at the panel from Amazon as well and is contemplating whether to get a 4 or 8U rack to house the panel, probably a PoE switch as well? Btw, how do you ship the items back? Is it through any agent or directly from Amazon? Thanks
  4. Hi Jimmya, Can you please pm me the contact too? Many thanks.
  5. I just went to JB to get my KDK fans. The shop is the one recommended by one of the brothers here. It's near palangi plaza. You just need to pay GST if you exceed the quota (counted per day per pax). For my case, my wife was not available, so I went into JB alone and bought around RM$500 worth of products. I drove into the red lane and paid my GST.... it was less than SGD$9 (not sure how they count). Very worth the price considering that it only took me around 2 hrs to drive in and out to get the stuffs.... Washed my car and pumped full tank as well....
  6. I just chatted with my friend. I think he bought KDK V56VK. Said that he paid $300+ for it. He recommend it. Will take a look at his house when i'm free.
  7. Hi Bro, could you please PM me the contacts as well? Thanks in advance.
  8. We were having this problem too. Ours is worse because all the wires are concealed. I don't like those with lights... feel so close to me even though i'm not that tall... So, we end up getting our electrician to split the light point into 2 around 1.5 metre apart.
  9. I'm getting 3 for my new house also - 1 in MBR, 1 in living room and 1 in my study room. Will probably get Elmark for my living room even though my electrician said it will look like coffee shop. I choose this because I want the fan to be as high as possible... As for my other rooms, I should be buying KDK baby ceiling fan series. $155-$160 without installation. My electrician said that it will be better if we get the "experts" to install them because they can do proper balancing. A well-balanced fan will generated less noise. For those with lights, it is more important because you don't want your light to swing. Just check with the shop selling the fan to you, they probably can recommend one for you. Installing 1 fan should be around $35-$40.
  10. Hi, I think this is the fan i'm using currently at my house. It should be Elmark 48" fan, right? Got 3 colours - white gray and black. Had it for 4-5 years and it's still working fine. I'm getting another 1 for my new house because it's so far the "flatest" ceiling fan I can find. Only around 17cm from the ceiling. Btw, it's selling for around $75 at Jalan Bersah without installation. Hope this helps.
  11. I saw the boss yesterday also. Told us that he renovated the showflat at blk 987 a few years back. Not sure whether this is true. Hmm... his quote looks quite reasonable... but think i prefer to look around first.
