Hello witchy Legally I am already the owner of the flat since beginning of November but I have agreed to let the uncle stay on for another 2 weeks as he needs time for his CPF funds transfer to new 2 room flat. So now the poor contractor is getting the squeeze as I would like to collect my flat by the 20th December and have my christmas party there I like the modern french style.. the "Je ne sais quoi" feeling hor.. I stayed there for about 4 months learning french and love those old buildings so much although real life is not as romantic as it seems. I have starting shopping but mostly all the bo-liao things not needed for renovation... the 2 biggest items are the Kraus sink and the Samsung Door lock. But the good thing is with online shopping , no need to step out of the house This week I will be going to JB to pick up some fans and water heater. You need any tongbang?

Wow.. finally I get to see that much coveted Ink Black Wood tiles from GF+A Sorry cant help you much about the "burnmark" look a like for the cement floor but if not too serious, it can be a characteristic of your floor afterall cement flooring's beauty lies in the imperfection. Love the cement floor and it was a choice of mine till i learnt it is porous By the way, why is there a little box at the bottom of the wall which I believe that's what your console is going to be?

I had a matt black kitchen flooring before paired with glossy black cabinets ... clean like crazy especially when I have dogs at home and Cook a lot. No denying dark floors are contemporary and very in now and I love them. Always drawn to the darker colours when looking for tiles. Now that you confirm it from professional , it's a win

Hey DoubleEM, first time dropping by to your blog and was reading it backwards from end product to the process and I really like what I see. Nice design and many items I like the stairs, the MBR toilet, the feature wall in the Common toilet, the black tap, the black shower set, and also this sink. I ordered the Kohler vessel sink from Amazon (like your Scarabeo) which sits inside the countertop but they have no stock and still waiting for their inventory follow up but I reckon I can afford another week's wait before changing. Thanks for the source of information and i will go look for it since going to a few shops didn't result in me finding such design. Anyone who knows Hansgrohe sale please keep us posted.. hehe. I went yesterday and the set selected cost a whopping $2290.. cant bring myself to take out my credit card.LOL -
Lazyfatcat007, furballs sounds nasty as I have never seen them before..haha. But should be ok, I am just being Kaisu as dog's pee sitting on the floor for whole day till I get home is a no-no. The sales told me that vinyl are plastic but then again i just imagine the pee being collected below it.. so silly right.

nextstep, actually I did go to GF+A one day after my outing with Contractor Des. I feel little stress when contractor is with me since I like to take my time to see the colours and texture of a tile and I don't want him to waste time waiting with me GF+A has really good quality italian tiles and I did see something I like over there but the colour was out of stock so "Lodge" is one of the tile sample I have brought home (yep, you got it about the feel I am looking for) but at about $9 psf really need to think if I should up the budget again. The colour palette is the same as Dolphin with Birch, Maple, Oak and Grey. Anyways, the lighter colours for dolphin ( the top 2- white and maple) have all been reserved so I can see the popularity of lighter tones. But for me, dark colours just bring out more of the grains in it. My bf cant understand why I am harping so much on the flooring but it is the biggest item in the entire house and all other furnishing and colours will revolve around it.. how can it not be important le.. But I find that others seems to be able to decide very quickly and I feeling like a old auntie dilly dally Concerns: Brown - Turned out looking like a farmhouse Grey - Turned out too dark ( but sexy can already right?) Haha

Enjoyed reading the blog with lots of technical information, just wish I can put them to better use especially on the IP cameras. I bought a xiaomi xiaoyi recently but gave up with even setting it up after 2 hours. Now looking at the Dlink IP camera and hOpefuLly it will be easier to set up?- 686 replies

Interesting to see a chiong Kraus kitchen sink. What is it that makes it resembles a Kraus or any other sink ? I bought a Kraus and besides the solid feel and the solid kong kong sound, I don't think physically there is anything that makes it looks different from others .maybe I don't know what to look for ? The again I love my sect Kraus very much

Hey! Many of us are really excited to see the end results. I am sure the satisfaction of seeing all the planning and details coming together must be exhilarating. Congrats and more photos please -
Now that we have decided on the distressed floor tiles throughout the entire house, the question is which colour ..because I found out that they have a darker colour besides option 1 (above) Nobody likes the dark and even darker colour for flooring it seems as almost everyone told me " too dark makes the place looks smaller" but then I really like it because I feel that the colour is much warmer. Have a look at the bottom 2 colours. (Brown with the orange sticker is what I initially fell in love with but next to it is Grey which is simply sexy isnt it??) Thee are the "Dolphin range from ABK Italy - http://architizer.com/products/auto-leveling-by-abk-group/ Porcelain stoneware wall/floor tiles with wood effect "The DOLPHIN collection by ABK continues the companys research into wood-effect products inspired by timeworn, visually-striking materials with unusual origins. In this case the source of inspiration is the famous Venetian briccole, the mooring posts or so-called dolphins used in the lagoon, which need to be replaced periodically once the submerged portions have been damaged through exposure to salt water."

By chance I did find the chair supplier for Comfort on Alibaba while searching for restaurant chairs because we were refurbishing. They replied my enquiry that they are unable to ship to Singapore because of the contract between them and if i am interested to go to Comfort's showroom. I have my qualms about ordering the chairs or anything from TB or Alibaba now because a guest was able to break the backrest of the fabri-wrapped wooden chair when he leans back from a hearty laughter. Since then, we have someone else broke the 2nd backrest so we really cant be sure about quality til it is already here. (and too late) Then again, some things that can be easily replace is safer than items like undermount sink, Shower sets, toilet bowl etc. The trouble is just not worth it even if the items arrived looking like what it should be. Thats why I am really appreciative of fellow forumers to give review after 6 months of use because that's when the problems could arise. Recently one feedback from blogger about his TB sink always get choke. Plumber checked and there is nothing wrong but the drainage is too small so now he has to regularly pump it out like when he washes fatty meat and it will choke it up. Another case is rust spots on her sink even there are no cuts and something growing out of it.. Being a sales person myself, I really believe we get what we pay. Grohe, Hansgrohe etc selling at 30% of the original??? I find it hard to think they are originals. They can look like but they cannot never be the real thing because of the composite used to make them. My Grohe in parents house already 10 years and the feel is still as good as ever It is not the price we pay for them but the value we get from it thats most important. example the original vs a fake. $100 that last 6 months or $500 that last 10 years? Just my 2 cents.

Where did your purchase the Blums? Never heard of an online system which does not open on weekend..kekeke.. only Singapore government websites are like that. I read a hardware shop in woodlands selling the blums cheaper by about 30%. If you have not ordered, can consider going there. Harvest @ Woodlands besides Woodlands SSDC look for The Hardware Shop at level one. There are a few authorise dealers there but this shop is the cheapest. Information given by someone on TB sharing page That simplehuman sink caddy is very attractive but I am still contemplating worth it to pay so much or just $2 for those plastic ones
