  1. OFF THE SOFA! I am sure they will be very surprise to hear me after thinking they can have a party on the sofa when i leave the flat! I know because the cushions are always on the floor when i get home
  2. Thanks everyone! The first time I saw that view it was sunset and it was gorgeous. Lazyfatcat007, the approval for walls hacking are taking a long time compared to the floor. Almost all my walls are coming down except for the main frames and I don't know if it affects the long wait.I will also be * playing with thumbs* for at least 1.5 week before flooring can be completed. We changed the floor tiles because the previous selection was a 20mmx120mm plank which i love but as a friendly tiler has told my BF about the warping he became very concern even though I am not too bothered by it. It is about expectations and usually it is worse in our mind than in reality. Haha Although it is not my first choice but we decided to change to the 15x90mm plank. Guess something has to go; practical or aesthetic it always boils down to this.
  3. Congratulations on your new big home .. I have always like smaller units but looking at yours makes me wish I have a bigger flat what a big space to build your dream home. I have also the approval to hack the floor but pending wall hacking .. we are in the same boat ! Look forward to seeing your progress and all the best
  4. Looking at the shower lock, is not on the door and looks more like on the wall ? Is this the hook kind ? Maybe thinking privacy for guests who come over your flat ? Don't forget photos of the door with lock OK?
  5. It was a very well kept unit abit the dated renovation probably more than 15 years old but since intended for a full renovation so wasnt too bothered about it. The first impression was the nice breeze and brightness to the unit which drawn me to it. In this block, I saw only 1 unit and that was it. Renovation is so exciting as i cant wait to see how my colours combination are all going to turn out.. Last minute also change the floor tiles ( still from Hup Kiong) to something I totally didn't consider at all.. all confirmed in 20 minutes and all the time spent looking for tiles were all for nothing..
  6. Finally collected keys from uncle who has moved out the day before. Last look before the hacking starts tomorrow... View from the living room windows and bedroom 2 View of the living hall from Entrance Living hall - From kitchen Uncle's industrial style toilet Extended yard area for washing machine. Tiny kitchen entrance to a equally tiny Kitchen - view from the hall
  7. I bought the Philips air fryer a few months ago and absolutely love it. Cooking the food in its own fats... yummilicious. Chicken wings , mcnuggets, fries , steak
  8. Today shopping for sofa .. nothing interesting yet as I have high expectations of my dearest sofa. Must be plush, still look modern , either L shape or sofa bed and still affordable. Got such lobang? Lol
  9. QUite an expensive set of shower set. Any other reason for this besides aesthetic?
  10. Kstoh, The main door is the bottom right but I will hacking away bedroom 2 to become part of the living TV area. I believe there will be a overhead beam where can install the cam directly facing the entrance. That said, I have been thinking about it since reading your blog about the tilting and rotation of camera and will be good to see my part time helper occasionally along with my dogs. Bottom left (and left to the windows) looks like a good location to see the entire home all the way to open concept kitchen but will it be able to capture the face or the back of the burglar? Really thanks for suggestion as I was very straight minded to think facing the main entrance directly. As for thieves climbing windows , i really hope I don't come across such a garang one because I am on the 17th floor and being corner unit there is no safety net for him. Even i feel a little scare when looking down..LOL
  11. Nextstep, it ships to singapore le! Already have in the cart Just curious if it is actually cheaper to buy from Amazon or is it just for lazy ones like me? In honest truth, I prefer to support local business whenever I can.
  12. I am not sure as well but reckon with 10 bulbs is a lot so most importantly the light is able to be throw across the room. Will check with contractor when I meet him on monday as my hacking will start... yay!
  13. heheh.. so easy to click & click. The bedroom light is a Tom Dixon chiong. Like his lights but cant afford the real thing le. I also like Louis Poulsen lights and that day went to MACSK at Mohd Sultan to see the lights...hands itchy...
  14. KSToh, I have seen those sockets over extensions and extensions to extensions and it looks scary to me. Maybe I am just paranoid with all these and recently I decided to invest in the Eubiq. Thought it is a pretty good idea to minimise the powerpoint shortage and can just add on whenever required. What are you thoughts on them? As for peep hole camera, I am also considering it but my concern is more that someone breaks in when I am not in and I want to catch that bugger should that happen.. LOL.
  15. Teka Hob has no stock? I am hopping to move into my flat by 20th December so better go and reserve one of that sleek looking hob. I dont mind to share 1 CBM for TB. I have a contact for 410/cbm but I dont know if it is any good a s a friend is using it for his furniture
  16. 11.11 Purchase. Such an important 11.11 for many to get some good deals and maybe thats why the reno t blog so quiet yesterday as everyone busy shopping izzit. I couldnt resist and join in the bandwagon for the first time using Peeka buy4u.I believe the shopping process will be the BEST part of home renovation!! As usual didnt buy anything I need for the renovation which is starting next week. 1) Understand its ability to suck up dust from beds ad sofa is superb but a little loud. Lets see. Probably can share this between our family as I dont foresee myself doing this frequently. https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?ft=t&id=37717059720&toSite=main Vintage looking dustbin. Must have https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?ft=t&id=523183540556&toSite=main Practical buy for laundry area. https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?ft=t&id=45044188080&toSite=main Bedside hanging lights. There will be also downlights but usually we have a habit to only use a dim light in room. Living room lights - Not planning to have any other lights except hanging bunch so opted for the 10 bulbs to light up the space.
  17. Yesterday's blog was quite quiet and everyone must be shopping at the TB11.11. I succumbed and bought a few items too but just learnt that using one of the agent's Buy4u service might end up expensive... which way did you purchase your small items? Those memory forms are really comfortable
  18. For art lovers or home owners looking to connect with a piece of art. Affordable Art Fair Singapore 12 – 15 November 2015, F1 Pit Building http://affordableartfair.com/singapore/
  19. Thanks for explanation and advice. Will wait out and as timing should coincide with my renovation completion Dont need a tilt and rotate as want to face it directly at the main door incase of any break in i can get a good clean shot of the person.. haha.. this is the best i can do since without a gate and much prep talk from people around me, i am feeling a little paranoid
  20. Is that a cement screed wall behind your Tv console. Like the clean cut style and functionality > Good job
  21. mon copain parle français aussi, mais il est italien alors maintenant je dois apprendre la nouvelle langue.
  22. Kyocera used by many chefs and its stays sharp for a longer time. It also doesnt bend at the tips like some stainless steel knives:)
  23. Jobb, sometimes if lucky can get free shipping to Singapore.. I followed the advice of Khng and requested free shipping for my Kraus sink and i really got it which is like $300 lesser so instead of $700 now, I paid $400. Very happy like strike a small lottery. Even though shipping cost a little more but at least i know its not Grade A chiong product. Like handbags, the good fake also cost quite a lot but it will never be like the real thing for quality. Not that I mind a fake products, just dont want to have hassle or health issues etc in the future so some things can buy from TB, some stuff better not. I think lightings are a good buy on TB
