  1. Hey CM, very nice carpentry & furnishings you have there, makes me drool even more over your house.
  2. Any Jurong West St 25 Residents here? Did anyone receive this particular letter enclosed together with **** paper money in a letter? Today we'd received our keys to our new unit and went to our unit immediately to do some spot check for defects required for submitting of our defects checklist. After checking the unit for defects, we'd went down to the letterbox area and found some flyers, a envelope addressed to no one except with our unit address on it. Enclosed is **** paper money and a letter which is meant for a neighbor staying on top floor from an revengeful ex boy friend but copies of the letter & paper money was also mailed to everybody in the block. Very unlucky to receive a letter with **** paper money on the day we'd got our keys lei
  3. Skippyapp : Yep that is what i vaguely remember about Blum on Ikea's kitchens though. Believe ChunkyMonkey has provided a clearer picture on the runners made by Blum. Guess the prices is more or less almost the same now for a kitchen but the smallest is a really tiny kitchen by Ikea for 799. Not sure what's the ft for it.
  4. Skippyapp : Sounds like Ikea kitchens are definitely worth getting from what you've described. If I remember right that some forumers here mentioned that the current ones from Ikea should come with Blum inserts for smooth sliding of the drawers.
  5. Gumbokins : Have to admit that the showpieces of Ikea kitchens are eye-pleasing though, its the practicality that counts for the $ than the aesthetic value. JS21 : True but then there are also other costs factored in, like kitchen bases, kitchen tops and etc. A lot to do for comparison in between contractors's pricing. skippyapp : Thanks for the feedback but do not know if the current ones are up to standard even for moderate cooking and withstanding the test of time. Back then when you'd used Ikea's kitchen, did they last long btw?
  6. We're looking at kitchen carpentry and etc so thought to post here to ask around if anyone has ever used ikea's kitchen types before? How's the functionality and stability for those types? Is it worth getting kitchens from Ikea?
  7. Thanks all for the feedback! Its good to be in the know now that I know how it works esp for first-timers like me. !!
  8. Yes, you can say that. Was wondering if bonus would be a deciding factor as well?
  9. the income bracket of salary for the housing grant? Do anyone know for this?
  10. In other words, even seek MP's help as a last resort, should it be directed towards HDB or CPF like that?
  11. Thanks Swatdila Approaching the MP to seek his assistance might be an last resort if it comes down to that But does anyone else also have any idea what happens after 3 months if HDB's management have not yet get back to us on the results? Would it mean that the application for our unit is still on hold even after 3 months? This can be really vexating considering that the shortest time to have the keys is less than 3 months. How?
  12. Hi all, We'd had booked an EA unit in Jurong West in August & still waiting for HDB to inform us to sign agreement. The unit is ready except for the appeal for the housing grant which is pending approval by HDB's top management. We'd checked with the officer in charge and the response was that she'd can't do anything to expediate the approval of the housing grant but only can expediate early release of the keys upon the results of the housing grant. Now does anyone have any similar experience regarding this? What happens if there's no results after 3 months as there's supposed to be 3 months period for an HDB transaction to take effect. !!
  13. You're welcome, Latitude. Will look out for the monthly promotion as I'd intend to buy when I have got the keys from HDB which is a long wait presently. Anyone else had bought indesit induction hob before? I realise Deliza don't have after looking at Mayer's site.
  14. Latitude, I didn't see the stage demonstration in fact, only the personal demonstration by the salesman. The demonstration for Brandt hob was such that even a paper was placed in between the saucepan and the hob while the pan was heated up. The paper didn't even get hot as induction needs a metal surface to conduct heat thru. I was impressed as only requires metal to generate heat and heat is generated quite fast as evident by the boiling water in the pan during demonstration. The 2 hob buner has an auto-off function after 90 min if nothing is cooking on it too. Am not sure about the ariston induction hob as didn't see any demonstration when we'd walked into the mayer branch at plaza sing the other time.
  15. Latitude, Thanks for the feedback! I went with my hubby to the Home and Decor fair last weekend to looksee and saw the Brandt hob demonstration by the salesperson upon enquiry. But the price is rather steep for just a 2 burner induction hob somemore. Pricing wise, it is a factor especially since I'd intend to get a 2 burner hob only since I'm not much of a cook myself. I'm still undecided between the induction hobs under the brands by Mayer. Indesit, Ariston, Deliza. I see that Ariston is the favoured brand but what about Indesit and Deliza? Can anyone share their experience with the hobs by those brands? BunBun
  16. Hi, do anyone know when is the sales for teka products? Are they any good as compared to other brands ie; ariston, indesit and brandt for their induction hobs? Please give feedback on this as I'm new to the topic of induction hobs and confused in between the brands and their hobs. !!
