  1. Hmm if i remember right, you'd may need to wait at least a week after getting your AHG that is. 'Cos after AHG is credited into the account, it takes time to prepare all the necessary paperwork for the appointment date. It was like this for me also but the wait for the notification really took so long that I literally was looking for letters in the mailbox everyday. I only found out abt my notification online as the mail reaches you later at a date before the key collection appointment. I think you'd should check online at the HDB site where you'd can log in with your singpass better. Or at least check with the officer in charge
  2. Yup more or less similar, just slight differences in our kitchen cabinets system. I think we'd spent over 2 weeks alone just for painting the main living/dining, passageway & MBR cos we were shuttling between our previous place & our current place then. Not to mention that we'd had to stop for a while cos HDB was doing hacking, retiling the tiles FOC due to hollow tiles in common toilet besides cement screeding for the whole place except kitchen & balcony. I even fell asleep on the balcony floor tiles after taking a short break from the painting in living/dining area without caring a hoot. Hubby is the better one. He continued to paint that time while I slept on. It's the memories that are priceless just for painting the house as a perk. Painting is really addictive and a good outlet to hold one's attention if one is too active.
  3. Applefreak: As promised, here are the following pictures of the grundtal racks up in the kitchen & the Udden trolley from Ikea as well. Taken from ktchen entrance. First thing to notice is the trolley standing in between the fridge & cabinets. ***Picts Taken Down*** Upclose shots of the grundtal racks from.. ***Picts Taken Down*** Left Side ***Picts Taken Down*** Right side ***Picts Taken Down*** Again another angle shot, from the right side ***Picts Taken Down*** And the shelves for living room ***Picts Taken Down*** This shot is not very clear cos a bit bright on one side. Was wondering if the shelves look better in this position or on the right side just above the ottoman? For sofa bed, have not yet taken the pictures due to the fact study room is in a mess cos assembling some of the items purchased from ikea. But the sofa bed is steady having tried it out. Is satisfactory overall despite minor paint bubble bits on the silver support frame underneath Other purchases from ikea not shown here: 1. Clothes stand for mbr to hang clothes ready for use instead of putting in wardrobe 2. A swivel chair for study room 3. A small computer table to put the PC as current study table is a bit small for some studying if place PC there.
  4. Steady leh, will do that when I'm free to drop by your place. Now got to wait at home for ikea ppl to come. Today very cold weather also. Good to snuggle up at home under a blanket as well.
  5. Thanks!~ Your golden lab looks the gentle type, meaning that its not so ferocious or mild?
  6. The dog is a 'he'. Hmm I don't know if can try this method you suggested cos the dog is already an old adult (about a few years old now? not sure 'cos got to ask my other half) I try out that part about suiting my tone for good or bad things done by it and see how it goes first.
  7. Yes, confirm my first time to paint a house. My other half already have some experience in painting having done it for my parents in law house. I suppose it requires patience to do painting. The MBR took 1 and a half days to paint including touching ups. That was even before we'd moved in. If you want some painting tips, I be glad to offer you if you'd like. Ah, now don't know what to paint for the doors & frames. Got white colour left for the 1 Litre cans. Anyone can give some ideas? Really, when we're free we go drop by see your place. Hehehe. You're at 274B ah? 'Cos I noticed only 1 'B' block near a basketball court from your description.
  8. Other than shoe cabinet, nova also delivered the sofa bed. It's in satisfactory condition having been sat on and checked by my other half. Firm and stable unless more problems pop up suddenly which I will definitely update later. Will post pics of the sofa bed later as have not taken the pics of it yet. Here's full view of the shoe cabinet Interior of shoe cabinet Ah now then you see the dog sniffing the latest addition! Greycat : This is for you as promised The lil' dog posing Again another pose struck by the dog looking very innocent One more pose! Don't act cute, doggie, h'okay! LOL Will upload more pics of sofa bed & the grundtal shelves later on. Enjoy!
  9. As mentioned in previous posting, the shoe cabinet have some probems. See picture as below. Problem 1 : Allignment of doors! Can see the silver part.. this is obvious to see how the alignment of the doors run Problem 2: Scratch marks or what kind of marks are those? This is only visible if lift up the glass top to reveal the marks on the wood below. Another mark on the right There was also a minor problem with the door hinge. The delivery guy fixed this problem immediately and its now ok. Only thing is the delivery guys didn't send the cabinet back with them as we have to call nova about it. Called nova up and was told the cabinet model is out of stock and will have to order one as replacement when it comes in. Nova will send their carpentry guy to look at the cabinet next week to see if can fix the problems or not. Keeping my fingers crossed on this since the service by the nova salesperson attending to us has been satisfactory, no pushy tactics at all. Having read up on the bad experience at nova furniture by other forumers, I was worried that they'd might not deliver on time as promised. Got to give them some credit for this as they called us to confirm delivery schedule yesterday morning & came today as scheduled..
  10. Pictures in Daytime as promised ***Pics Taken Down**** It's kinda messy at the moment, will be much better after everything is settled fully. The latest addition which arrived just now from Nova furniture is this shoe cabinet beside main entrance... Got some problem with the cabinet though. Will post in next posting
  11. Aiya... I never seem to be able to catch the dog in action! So a bit hard la this way considering we both have to work in the day. Night time, it's acting like a good boy and always eager to be brought out for a walk. Every time want to go for walk, it run to kitchen & look at its own leash with intention. How to catch it in action unless i stay home whole day & no need to work liao
  12. No problem with the laminate so far 'cos we're on the alert for any suspicious pool of 'water' on the floor. But tiring also cos need to keep eyes open real wide to see any problem even after work. What I do is when I get home after work is to spot check the area with all the lights ON! Lucky all bedroom doors r closed in the day when we're at work. If i see any pool of 'water' or even poo on the laminate flooring than the kitchen flooring, bo bian leh since got to spank the dog for it.
  13. Applefreak, Wah you very fast put up the racks leh! Got to wait for mine to be up tomorrow including the trolley as well. !! I also hope the deliveries from nova goes well after reading the 'horror' stories about nova in RT. Me worry already.
  14. Greycat, no prob! Like what LLhome says, every dog is different, so you have to observe Yuki see her temperament towards beatings, scoldings in different phase of her growing up stages. But must be strict and firm with her. Or else end up like my dog. He still so naughty and I got to be very bad to him, scold him etc etc. Aiyo, I feel that all that spoiling by my parents in law has made dis dog very stubborn and naughty liao. Bo bian but got to help my other half to retrain the dog. I have heartache every time the dog pees on the laminated flooring at times when he feels like it instead of the newspaper in kitchen. 'cos got to take care with the laminates leh.!!
  15. LLhome, thanks thanks! It's my first time I do house painting. But its rather easy to paint although it is tiring to paint the whole house! I still have more painting to do for the last 2 rooms + the doors On one hand, its quite addictive if you're a perfectionist in wanting to do everything done nicely. HDB walls are very uneven for plastering. The red passageway took a longer time to paint due to the 'patchy' parts that were still visible even after painting. The study room also have but not as bad. I agree that we'd treasure our home more now that we've spent alot of time making it work with what we've evisioned for a simple loft theme. You can do the painting with your hubby so long as you are willing to try better. We were lucky that we manage to see some nice & affordable lights at lightcraft which is worth a deal. Your lights are also nice too lei, LLhome. Makes me want to go your place touch touch including the pool table. LoL !! Sidetrack a bit here, Im still trying to decide what to paint for the doors after seeing your condo-ish style doors. Any idea?
  16. LLhome: No wonder, staying at home is the best! somemore got hubby to support you so no worries. If you want to go Jurong Point, yes it will be faster cos its nearer the bus stop opp sheng shiong. Waiting for 181 can seem quite a long time than waiting for the bus at the bus stop opp sheng shiong. The 185 doesn't go Jurong east mrt. It stops at Jurong central, somewhere in between the borderline of east and west part. Don't know how to explain to you that location as I'm also not familiar with that area too. But the bus stop I wait at in jurong central is at blk 502 to take 185 that is. You can even change bus at that bus stop cos some of the busses go direct to other areas like TPY, Clementi and even orchard. Greycat & LLhome: To answer that qns of walking, I haven't tried walking to the mrt from my place yet lol. Am quite lazy at times. If by walking distance, I'd prob take 15-20 min to walk there from my peripheral view of the location. !!
  17. Hey, about the transport if you have not taken the bus yet, how you'd go to work and etc? The bus stops outside the cluster of blocks(273C & 273D), there are only 2 bus servicing the bus stops. Bus 181 goes to Boon Lay interchange and back which covers at least 5-6 bus stops, Waiting intervals takes about 15 min. It also takes 15 min to reach the interchange & back too. Bus 185 does not go interchange, it goes straight into Jurong Central where East meets west side. There are also bus stops on the main road up ahead from the bus stops outside the blocks. The one at the carpark opp sheng shiong has 172, 199, 503. All goes to interchange and its fast since it takes 10 min to reach depending on traffic condition. Plus its about 2-3 bus stops only. Waiting intervals for a bus is at least 5-10 min max. You know where I am talking about>
  18. Greycat: Sure! Hmm I don't know about websites that show dog training 'cos I didn't learn from the net. Through trial and error actually with my previous doggies but hor, I'm very soft hearted so I spoil my own dogs abit last time. I have currently an another dog which is with my parents now but very well behaved. What you need is to start training yuki with a balance of rewards & scoldings. Cannot be soft with Yuki if she does wrong 'cos must make her remember so that everytime when she wants to do the same thing, she will do it properly. For eg; if she poos anywhere in the hse thats not designated for her to poo, spank her at that spot and scold her. If she poos at her designated spot, reward her with dog treats or praise her. Dogs are just like humans, needs to be loved and have its share of praise & scolding ma. This should give you an idea. An better alternative thing is to send her to a dog training school to learn basic commands. Or else, pick up a book on dog training methods. Oh ya, if you ever take Yuki out for walks, don't let her go near the grass as she can get ticks easily. Make sure she's on dry ground, not soil & grass. No leftovers from food meant only for humans to feed her(dogs are not suppose to eat that kind of food, easily can get health problems) One thing to remember as well, you need to clip Yuki's nails regularly as well cos puppies are growing so will their nails. It will be uncomfortable to have long nails since it will affect the well-being plus you do not want any scratches anywhere on your furniture and etc. Post more picts of Yuki~~~
  19. To give you a rough idea, my dining table for eg is about 700+ sgd with 6 chairs compared to the one sold at both courts & nova furniture in singapore. Courts has a study table in the same metal frame but its going for about 1000 odd while the exact same dining table at Nova is almost 1k with just 4 chairs. If you buy more furniture pieces, I think you can get a discount though. You can try asking.
  20. post more picts of your house colours when already painted
  21. Ah, mine is matt laminate with patterns but the patterns are not obvious cos look silverish-white spots that blend in the white background. Will take the pict of the racks when its up then i post it in here
  22. Greycat : Popped by here to say Hi! Your dog Yuki is sooo cute. I want to cuddle her already I love dogs too. But if your dog is still young, it is best to train her before it become difficult to train her properly. Our dog at home is a silky terrier but really a naughty & playful one cos parents in law spoil it so much.
  23. I see your renovation progress is on its way now. hehe waiting to see how your place turns out!
  24. Got the furniture from a shop near pasir gudang i think. Not familiar with that location in JB as a relative drove us there. Some furniture shops in JB do delivery to singapore. Tax is also included in with the gst as well.
  25. Ranval : Your dogs are sooo cute. I also have dog, a adult silky terrier belonging to my other half. But very naughty. A hassle training the dog to be good with his 'business' at times in the house cos he's been spoilt alot by my parents in law. Don't worry about what happens as long as you have a clear conscience. Friendships are important but more important is yourself. Must also look out for yourself cos cannot always look out for others all the time. I also want to see the shoe cabinet mentioned by applefreak *kpo* LOL
