I wouldn't mind the 2 doors design as well even if they're directly opp each other. Life would have been perfect for me if the toilet bowl wasn't in the middle of the bathroom.

Guess I'm luckier then you coz my queue no was 23x. I've 3 choices during my selection, 1st one is window facing main road, corner unit but beside school, 2nd one is further away from school with windows facing edge of opp block and on 14th flr but non corner unit, 3rd one is corner unit, further from school on 18th flr but window facing opp block. I've lost slp for days trying to decide which one and ended up going for 3rd option becoz I value zzz quality, wouldn't want to wake by unwanted noises and I've wanted corner unit + I like the number 18... sounds auspicious...

@wild Ginger Understood your dilemma... I was having the same worries of size vs low flr before gotten queue no and was mentally preparing to accept 38sqm if queue no is no good. Then after gotten queue no even worst. Was struggling over corner vs privacy vs high flr vs near bus stop vs noise lvl from school.... moi also sacrificed privacy for high flr + corner unit. Think I'm fine as my current room also have no privacy at all. Have to draw up curtain 24/7 but have gotten used to it already.

Yeah, moreover, there isn't alot of platform available for 2roomers to chitchat and exchange ideas. I would be most keen to see how other 2roomers did their bathroom tho...

Yeah, totally agreed. Thank goodness most ppl preferred sengken/pungol over bukit batok. Less ppl applying means higher chances of getting the unit.

Mine is on the 18th flr as I liked to be closer to the sky then ground and my current house is on 3rd flr... kinda sick of living on low level flr already... My block is 41x, guess not that far of from yours. Eh, based on my current experiences living on 3rd flr, big trees doesn't really sheltered your house from much privacy. Someone sent by some gov unit would cut down the branches of the big trees in front of my window from time to time leaving it looking rather bare. But maybe it'll be different in your new house. Fingers crossed...

@wild Ginger, Think my location same as yours. Just that it's different bto projects developing on the same mountain. Regarding interior design, guess everyone has their own personal preferences. I'm more of functional + minimal cleaning type of designs over beauty. But am open to innovative hidden furniture concepts as well.

I've also been longing for my own space for as long as I could remembered. Was quite frustrated when I couldn't even afford a resale 3-room. When gov released the news abt 2room single bto, I wasn't really keen due to it's size and location. After 1+ yr and a little chat with my friend last yr Sep, I've decided I should just go for it and went to checkout next upcoming bto. It was really fortunate that next bto is releasing ard the corner and location is okay. so I've went for it and imagine my excitement when I've gotten a relatively good queue number at first attempt! @wild Ginger Regarding hidden bed, am not very keen abt it as I'm really lazy and don't like the idea of needing to put away or pull out the bed when I wake up or before going to bed. >.< That's why I've decided to go for super single bed and intend to hack down the wall to replace it with large wardrobe instead. Have been surfing the net for small space ID inspirations whenever I have time. Was looking mostly at bathroom designs as i've already have ideas abt my future home except bathroom. Am having headache whenever I think abt my toilet bowl position. >.<

1)am aware of hacking. Just hope hdb approve coz have heard that if too many ppl hacking the Same wall at same unit but diff flr, hdb might reject hacking. Purpose of ledge includes: - double up as bench. - additional built-in storage. - wanted that gap between wardrobe and wall to allow natural light to flow from living to bedroom. That side of the wall are mostly windows. Couldn't really place furniture against it. As for door, would most likely put a roller bind to it. Ledge gap and bedroom side of toilet door as well. So am not too worried even if I install air con. 4)hmm...you have a point there. Maybe I'll build the shelf at the opp side against bathroom wall. 6) that is just the layout proposed by hdb.I didn't amend it as I haven't really decide how I want to Reno bathroom. but i want to place sink at bedroom side. Either beside toilet bowl or opp for bigger sink. Shower area would be where the sink is. Have to see the actual size of bathroom to see how. couldn't agreed with you more on the position of the toilet bowl. I hated it and worst part is I couldn't do anything about it. Anyway, these are just some rough ideas. Still have 3-4more years to go before key collection.

Ello all, Newbie to this forum and looking forward to my 2room hdb to be completed in 2019. Have a lot of ideas going thru my head ever since I've gotten the queue number. while I was reading thru this topic, saw quite a few ppl wanting to seal up the bathroom door towards kitchen. Just wondering, how are you guys intend to dispense the waste water from washing machine assuming you're placing it in the kitchen? Anyway, my ideas so far: 1) Replace the wall between bedroom and living with floor to celling wardrobe. Leaving a gap between the windows wall to build a ledge. Rationale is to let light flows from living room bedroom as my bedroom windows would most likely be covered by binds for most of the time for privacy. 2) would be getting super single bed to save space. The head of the bed would be placed against the window ledge. 3) Am intending to combine living area with dinning area. My sofa would be placed facing the shelter wall (thank goodness my shelter is near entrance. Would most likely mount a tv to the shelter wall. 4) Would built a shelf + shoes cabinet on one side of the wall leading from entrance to living area as I've noticed the entrance hallway is very wide while I visited the hdb showroom. The idea is to cover up shelter door as well. 5) am intending to place a desk behind the sofa so that I could watch tv while working. 6) biggest headache for me is the bathroom as the toilet bowl is in the middle of the retengular bathroom. Not sure whether there's enuff space to place the sink on one side and shower on the other side as I've wanted wet/dry.
