Chew Interior Design
latitude replied to cueball's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
chew interior? i went to the jurong showroom and it was a impressive 2 storey showroom. but the so call sales designers are more interested to close sales than giving advise/design ideas. that person also never call to follow up with a detailed quotation. -
only few European fridge brands are designed for built-in. they are very expensive though when I checked. I cannot remember the brand already, its a funny name but u can flip thru local ID magazine. u can built in a japanese fridge but the opening wouldnt be that smooth cos it's not designed to open with cabinet door. the concept is good for studio apartments where fridge is smaller. eventually i didnt go for built in fridge although it can achieve that sleek high end look.

oh didnt know they are sister companies. tots n teens is the first and only shop I went to. i was attracted by the fabric which they display in the store. the black n silver one. not sure still there or not.. their first quote was very high, then I slash slash slash.. but overall very happy with the end-product.

next to Jimmy Textile shop unit is Tots & Teens. my curtains & blinds are done by them. i didnt do wallpaper though. think going direct to goodrich is better? they have more variety to choose from.

mmm... mine is open concept too. once enter the house, see the island, behind island is stove. FSM ask me to install stainless steel or glass backing to reflect more fire. I guess I need more fire?? my stove is not facing the window though. FSM also told me to keep all sharp objects (ie. knife, scissors). they must not be seen when ppl enter the house.

if its just me staying in the room, i will do it. but if me and partner I will not, cos sometimes u just need to do something that u dun want others to see? haha.. i have lotsa of glass at home now. I felt glass is difficult to maintain. just imagine water marks can be seen from the bedroom.... like a dirty fish tank. just my 2cents. it's still yr own decision..

Help On Buying Resale Flat ?
latitude replied to skyy's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
ask for a proof of ownership (ie. town council letter or utilities bill) or anything bearing the owner name and address. and pay the deposit according to that name. 1st deposit is max $1k. unless u decide to exercise the option on the spot (which the agent might likely to ask you to), then it is up to $5k. i suggest that you read the HDB website's Resale Flat section if you have no agent to represent you. -
my previous washer was Hitachi 8kg, lasts for 15yrs. mum wash everyday but service less than 5 times only.

Thomson or Brandt have it. -
if you have guys at home who bare upper body to sit on sofa, i think fabric is more comfortable. leather, kinda sticks to the body. fabric - at least you can have it upholstered every few years. for leather, due to its price, I dun think many people would change it every few years. there's this bitter lemon spray which i used on curtains, shoes and fabric sofa. it deters dogs from bitting. my dog just smell and go away. Safe and effective for me after I got a dog, I bought a sofa throw from ikea to protect the sofa (from pee, vomit and fur, sometimes not from yr own dog, but other people's dog!). special occasion then remove it

what ISP will u be using? I suggest you get a router from them and save the trouble of buying yrself if possible. bundle packages are very attractive esp now nearing Xmas, sure have promos. if you have to buy one yrself, then chk with the service provider the recommended brands/models. I ever bought one on my own and later SingNet says not compatible! I didnt know HDB also have ethernet points in all rooms?? U did it yr own?? Anyway, wireless routers will not need those points. Afterall, it's wireless mah Connectivity wise, just connect yr router to the tel point can liao and of course electricity. Configure the a SSID and a encryption key. Configure yr computer to detect the SSID and enter the encryption key. That's abt it. Nowadays, routers comes with setup wizards to walk you thru the steps. I find that SingNet supplied ones are very user friendly.

no matter what precautions we take, there are bound to be "accidents". I protected my parquet flooring but during the delivery of wardrobe, it is still slightly scratched the workers wouldn't take care of the cabinet as though it's theirs

actually i was really tempted to get them to remove and redo, since its their fault. when the installer came to do damage control, i question them "why didnt u notice it when u install"? he have nothing to say! feel like releasing my dog to bite all three of them! to remove the granite, will have to remove the glass back-splash, gas cooker and in the process may also affect (they sure scratch) the cabinet laminates. in the end may not be a win-win situation. I will try 70% as its is quite upsetting. I paid higher than market price for the granite and end up getting less than satisfactory work.

hi the Samsung is 2door fridge (side-by-side). abt $1200 last month. i think end up you will have "no choice" but to get the Folio Baby (tt's what I do). Folio Baby with 5yrs standard compressor warranty its abt the same as a Hitachi 1 + 4 years extended warranty..

Hi all, Need everyone's expertise here. The granite top which was installed had a glaring mistake which cannot be rectified. The adjoining granite top had profiles of 40mm and 38mm. The 2 pieces has been permanently fixed so the supplier can't do anything and the person in charge says he will give me a discount. I will accept a discount since nothing can be done already. How much discount should I ask for/expect? Regards

do update on yr Lite n Space painting. I find the paint a bit diluted than other ranges. too thin.

hi dude, u and I have exactly the same problem sourcing for a fridge. end up I got a Folio Baby. The Hitachi model, I think I know which one you are referring to. is it Solfege R-S37SVS? I chk around major stores, no where displays the White Silver model. The White Silver as stated on it's site is actually White Grey. It was delivered to my house but I rejected it and it looks more grey to me. It was finally exchanged/upgraded to Folio Baby White. U can chk out Indesit from Mayer stores. but its very huge but very handsome pure White fridge. Or American fridge from Samsung? also pure White; if it fits into yr intended space..

same problem here. I'm using ICI Lite & Space - it has to be painted at one go. touch-ups will become patches.
