Ya lor my childhood memories are all here..... n i gotta MISS the neighbourhood and the people here. My neighbours will look out for each others and we know who's who. Unfamiliar faces will rise "red alert". New house = new neighbours. Wat if my new neighbours are someone whom i dun get along with at the old place.. OH NO.. I m excited that i m getting a new place... at the same time.. getting more n more sad as the date to shift out is getting nearer.

Yes, actually more then 1 family has shifted in leow. But mainly at Blk 25A. at least i know of another unit in Blk 25A has shifted in yesterday. I guess those family do not hv much choice..... we SERS are given 4 months to shift out of our current flat upon collection keys. :-( Actually feel kind of sad.. hving to left a place i hv stayed since birth... sob sob.

I think it's electric heater or gas heater. Gas heater u can get from City gas n it's free n as the name implied, it runs on gas. When turn on, u can see flames inside the heater. There are 2 kinds of Electric heater. The instant kind or the tank kind. Instant heater u can mounted it in your toilet jus beside yr shower head. Whereas the tank kind u need to mount it in the kitchen area. The tank kind comes in 15 litres, 30 litres etc. Was told best to get the 30 litres so that water temperature will not be affected if so happen 2 people are taking shower at the same time.

Anyway, there's another STUPID design i dun like abt this place. For those who hv been to see the showflats might hv noticed the huge n ugly water heater storage tank mounted at the entrance of the kitchen wall. I appreciate that HDB has nicely done up the hot/cold piping for the whole house thus reducing our renovation cost. But cant they find a better position for us to install that heater tank! ARRGHHH.. Actually thinking of installing 2 instant heater in each bathroom instead. But contractors are discouraging me.... any suggestion?

Me at Blk 27B. Those front units are 5rooms. mine's 4 room. Can see the bridge n activities down below from both living room n bedrooms. But me high floor, so i can see them they cant see me. BUT, 1 thing i dun like is the master bedroom. HDB has throw in full height window for master bedroom..... but but but.... the only view i hv is the living room n bedroom of OTHER BLOCKS (blk 25b, 26b & 26c)! No FAR AWAY views like my living n bedroom 2 & 3. Must really the designer of this block. Most likely those with glossy ones hv almost complete their renovation. Contractors need to touch up the dirt they might hv left behind when doing renov. Anyway, someone mentioned here before tat the doors given by HDB was ugly. I find my quite nice leh. Wooden ones in 2 tone. Do we all hv the same doors? N i like the metal gate too...

I have your same problem when I went down HDB to sign my agreement. Almost couldn't get my keys on that day due to mis-calculation of balance amount due. The lastest letter we got from HDB was rather confusing. NOT a straight forward letter stating outstanding amount to be paid. Ended up my calculation out by $10K plus. Cold sweat! And according to the HDB officer, lots of people actually went back without signing the agreement due to insufficient funds. As my flat was under SERS, i dunno if those under balloting ones will face the same problem. Maybe to avoid the unnecessary unhappiness, try calling HDB to work out for you how much is needed. Hopefully none of you will hv my experience. I guess you talking abt the $30k renovation grant they give to those under SERS. I actually use it to offset the amount outstanding. So NO cash to take from HDB, instead hv to pay extra... cos we change from a 3 room to a 4 room. And not forgetting that HDB will hold on to $10k which will only be given back to us only upon returning of current flat.

Yes, they can adjust the height... but might want to charge u for it.

I submit the screeding form on the same day i collected my keys i.e 17Sep. A week later, saw piles of sand in my unit already. However, they completed my screeding on 3Oct, a day after we called officer in charge to check abt the screeding. So now u all know the trick..... no kick no move. Some points to share. 1) Till date, i hv 2 contractors telling me i should let them do lay the tiles for the living room first. Then ask HDB to screed bedroom for my laminate flooring. Their concern is abt the leveling of the tiles n the laminates. I dunno how true this is. But, i hv already ask HDB to do up my screeding. Brought 1 contractor up to see my screeding leveling already.. he say it's ok as HDB has screed it high for me. So take a note you all out there. If you doing tiles for yr living area and getting HDB to screed, remember to ask them to screed higher for u. 2) U all know those touting uncles rite, BEWARE HOR. Was going thro' those name cards i got (unwillingly) from them , i come across 1 similar name and similar HP number on 2 different company's namecard. I think some uncles are not exactly from the company they say they r from. They will bring u to the few units (which might be different renovator) that he's linked with.

I dun think there should be any leg cutting feeling from the tiles leh. I think the workmanship matters. Have been to certain unit, the cut leg feel was really bad. Lets think abt it this way. Now that yr flooring is still new, the cut leg feel is already bad. After wear n tear over the years, the "white cement" between each tiles will wear off more.... the cut leg feel will be even worse rite?

I got yr quotation. Thanks. Jus need to know if yrs is a 4 room or 5 room?

I got a quote from the Supreme laminate last sunday at the home n decor fair at Sin Expo. Was asking for price for 3 bedrooms. The guy say will cost abt $1500 for all 3 rooms. Supposingly Exhibition special price only. This is price for 8mm AC3. AC5 will surely cost more. Still thinking whether to get fr them directly or thro my contractor.

hi, i jus got my defect list ready n wanting to submit. Do we need to submit to Bukit merah branch office or we can jus drop if off at the BSC? Btw, wat kind of defects should i really look for? So far i only seems to find fault with the window panels handles n stopper. Other then this, is there any other stuff i need to look out for?
