I bought mine from Carrefour (can also check out HN, Courts), 3 pieces with base-charger @ $99

a picture paints a thousand words....

Thanks! I figured that, without much reno / design experience, going for a combi of white base with different shades of grey would be easy enough for me to work around. Yeah, Water Closet, i have the link embedded but guess you're too lazy to click.. haha...

Well, even better, the set sold locally by HN, Carrefour, Courts comes with a base charger, charge it full and the light will fickle and last up to 13hrs before needing another charge.

I thought of getting motion-sensor-light initially as well but eventually decided to get this... Philips LED Candles the LED light fickles like a candle and its not too bright so perfect for walking around in the dark with the lights off. Also, it doubles up as nice candle light display without the hassle of an actual candle. !!

Can take a look at Vhive too...

After 2 years of Tokyo worklife and countless Tonkatsu (best with karashi), I was looking forward to moving back to sg and into my new "old" flat at Jurong East St 21. Why new "old"? A new lease of life in a 5 room flat that is part of a 25 year OLD (?) point block, and this also, used to be the humble abode of my late grandparents... Not an ideal time to start a reno with material cost rising you might say (even wheat is at all time high) but well, so when really is a good time? Anyway, mind set with a reno budget of $40-45k, I started my search for that elusive ID that could fulfil all my reno criteria and of course, staying within the financial boundary - needless to say, that wasn't easy. Caught between a rock and a hard place, do I stay within my budget and compromise on quality, I eventually took the plunge and launch into a full scale reno, and yes, without the engagement of a professional ID. Not an unusual step but well, some things turned out ok while others, hmm... urmmmph, look on to find out.... Here are the "specs" (??? ! ! !?) ID - myself.... Ho ho ho....ha ha ha... Contractor - Poh Sia Construction and Engineering Capentry - Liang He Seng Furniture Furniture - sofa from Ritz Rymen at furniture mall, dining table from mondi... The theme of the house - simple, spacious (roomy enough for my baby to roam about in her walker...), and easy to clean... Here we go... Living room (before and after) More pics to follow later...

Performance wise, have you heard of using a water pump to improve the water pressure?

Interior Designer A Must?
niwdehos replied to a topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Can't agree more... if you want a fuss free reno without worries, then engage an id. You'll sleep soundly through out the reno. I had the experience of coordinating my whole reno right from wetworks, setting up my lighting & wiring plans, designing my own tv console, cabinets etc. supervising the plumbers to air con installation... its not easy but definitely an invaluable experience... Of course monetary wise, not having an id will mean your reno expenses can be reduced. In my case with the savings from id fee, i opted for better finishing like long strip parquet and homo tiles of higher quality. Weigh the pros & cons and once you've decided, be firm and stick it through! Good luck! -

you can go to LHS at sim lim tower level 2, i got my "thick" taiwan made hdmi cable from Robert... its a cheaper alternative to those from brands like Monster, QED etc -
You could replace the default stb's rca cables with component but the slight improvement in quality may not be worth your money and effort.
-
I got both wallmount + stand for my plasma but just the stand for my lcd. I guess it depends largely on the retailer and the then ongoing promotional package.

the only problem i forsee is that you can't tilt the tv in the event you need to swap the cables behind - you need to remove the whole tv panel in order to do that. just my 2 cts. I would suggest going back to the distributor and check out how much does it cost to install with bracket if you're worried about doing it yourself and messing up your feature wall.

I bought mine at GAINCITY / Panasonic marina sq road showa few months ago. $1999 with $400 ntuc voucher is a reasonably good deal for a full HD 42" plasma. TH42PV70H is assembled in SG. there's a similar model with just 1 hdmi input that's assembled in china. btw, its plasma not LCD panel. TH-42PV70H

Have you checked out adelphi? You could possibly think about setting up an entry level 7.1 system with that budget. AVR brands like Marantz, Denon or Yamaha without HDMI features could cost less than $500. 7.1 speakers around $1.5-2k. Thereafter, its a constant upgrade... cables, conditioner... Btw, that doesn't include DVD player. HDMI players going from $200 onwards depending on brand. -
I've done something similar to my coffee table... it was walnut matt finish previously and i've got my carpenter to layer it with a white glossy laminate... a bit more pricey compared to DIY but nonetheless, still much cheaper than getting a brand new one!

Sharp Fridge Sj-p47n / Samsung Rt45mant
niwdehos replied to devilroxy's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I was using sharp plasmacluster for the last couple of years and no complaints at all. Have moved the old sharp fridge to my in-laws place and just bought the new sharp SJ-P68N. I simply love it. Have not used Samsung so no comments! Just a point to note... when you get your fridge delivered, do no switch it on immediately, allow the fridge to settle down first. I turned mine on only 1 day later. -
Depending on your budget and if you're looking specifically for any design / concept? Have you checked out the Furniture mall at beach road?
