Hi, I used Amcon for my shipment as they charged by volume, minimum is 1 cubic metre. good for heavy items. But the downside is that you have to track the deliver of item in China yourself and inform them when all the items have arrived. I had 2 shipments and each cost about $300 per shipment. I think you might want to check on 65 daigou to see how their shipment for 1 cubic metre is calculated. Cheers

Hi all, it has been sometime since i last update... hehe... lots of progress.. and the house will be ready for handing over soon:) firstly.. the kitchen... hob and hood from techno.. glass backsplash... granite top is up.. and sink and tap from taobao frosted glass to cover the small window at service yard glass partition is up to separate kitchen with dining area a closer view of dining light from taobao.. costing about $70 with 6 led light bulbs ... TBC..

here's my kitchen ... but the granite top is not up yet luckily we went to the house to take a look... asked the carpenter to reduce the height of the backing of the cabinet. dah dah... btw, we had some issues with the laminate colour as our original choice is of a darker shade... we called our ID immediately when we realised the laminate of a different colour... he is very nice to change it to allow us to change it back to the original colour... and after decision making... we took what we see... hope the kitchen turns out well .. as for the windows, the grilles were up ... lastly... toilet doors are up too... it is a top hung bi-fold door... so there are no tracks below... thanks for viewing

hi all, just to share some of the things we bought from taobao 1 washing basin... (excluding tap) 2 vanity sets (including sink.. only putting up the pic of 1, forget to take the other one... hehehe) next.. carpentry is finally here!! my wardrobe in my mbr and my full mirror shoe cabinet... can check if we look decent enough to leave the house tbc...

sorry for the long wait... oops... sorry... have been very busy... so here are some pics.. we decided to change the window in the master bedroom so as to allow more ventilation before after after changing the 4 piece window to two big casement window, the whole feel of the room change... so happy with the change:) next, part 1 of the plumbing is done! again we are satisfied that the piping is well planned and quite minimum toilet at masterbed room common toilet

some more updates most of the false ceiling is up.. false ceiling living room, w cove light and downlight false ceiling in living room, one side w cove light and down light, the other side only down light... the side w down lights only looks thicker.. but both sides are of the same thickness... false ceiling in common bedroom...

after our 1st amcon shipping arrived, we finally have a sink to "hand in" to the contractor to start doing sink support... haha... we decided to built a sink support as it is more durable in the long run... so here it is... so far... we are quite satisfied w the workman ship of the tiler for the sink support... the tiling of the sink support is aligned to those on the floor... and best of all.. the tile matches well with the cement screed so after the concrete support is up... carpenter came to take measurements ... like finally..

Air con trunking was done earlier... after discussion with the air con person... this is what we have done... the main point is to reduce trunking because my Mr is very particular about that... trunkings in the master bedroom trunking in common room 1... so far, common room 1 has the most trunkings, air con and electrical ones... trunkings in the passageway... btw we are not going to install any false ceiling to hide the trunkings... next up, false ceiling will be up tomorrow, carpentry measurement is done.... and 2nd amcon shipping will arrive soon

Long long time no update.... things have been moving slow recently.... But... after a long wait and constantly harassing Amcon (forwarder)... my first shipment finally arrived my tv console... oneof the many best buys about $400 + $100 (shipment cost) it came assembled... 1.8m solid wood... really quite heavy what we saw on taobao what we received.. the wood grain backview of the console some scratches...we are totally ok with it as it is very minor considering it travelled a far dist without much protection to reach us.. hahaha.. next... our Cobbe sink.. $88 inclusive shipping a closer view of the sink surface it came with accessories.. but we did not take pic of the accessories... another good buy... our kitchen tap.. we will review it once it is installed.. tap is heavy.. 2 kg with retractable tap...and it is huge! only less than $60 including shipping.. 大赚 man! we have a total of 13 items... we only unbox some... but because reno work is still ongoing... we will upload it once we are done w the reno... the tiler will come and build the concrete support for the sink this sat... like finally ... after 1 month plus of waiting for the shipment... meanwhile the following are done.. - re-runing of wires - air con trunking done...

Yes, $750 from seahorse... I'm so super tempted! I a bit OCD... also if there is spillage of coffee and stuff, leather is easier to clean than fabric... haha... faster head down to any seahorse to find out the promo... see gt any good find anot.. Thank you and good luck

end of year means lots of sales! so... sometimes too many options is a problem too first of all, i bought my TV console from taobao... so it looks like this so recently... i happen to chance on seahorse... and they have a promo...40% sales for sofa... and the sales is till 4 Jan 2016 and we saw the following... 1st choice this is a photo of someone else's sofa... but the model will look like this... 2.9m, fake leather backing with fabric covers... we can choose the colour we want for the backing and fabric.. only cost about $450... this might match the tv console better, but very limited choice for cover and that the backing is fake leather... which means it will flake right? also need to spend more $$ to get another set of covers, more effort to maintain it 2nd choice this is the other model... 2.6m with real leather... can choose leather colour.. only about $750... very tempted to get this but this may not match our TV console... but the advantages are 1) 2.6m is a good size for us, 2)the maintenance part.. easy to swipe and there is no need to wash the covers.. 3rd choice I have post this full fabric sofa which we saw from cellini.. $1199... this sofa looks nice... but it is more costly, the maintenance part is a headache.. need to wash the fabric covers and of course... need to spend more $$ to get additional set of covers.. although we said our house is Scandi inspired... but we are more practical people... household chore is a everyday thing so maintenance is our top concern.. at the same time we want it to look nice (might not be very scandi but hopefully all the furniture can complement each other).... are we asking for too much... ai pin ai cin (want good and cheap)... haha... what do you guys think?

haha... went to look at the house... although i think the plastering might not be obvious in the picture.. but I still feel like posting the pic the before and after plastering pic the old wirings have been removed... so the house is restored to its bare-est form... haha.

it's shopping time many sales are going on... just Dec alone, there are 3 electronics shows at EXPO My Mr and I bought the following items from the Audio House EXPO show last week.. a 9kg top load Panasonic washing machine.. at $459 a 395L Hitachi fridge at $799 (stainless steel cover) give free 1.7L kettle a Philips 50" Digital signal TV with free andriod box at $899+$20... dunno why they wanna charge the $20 for delivery for the purchase of TV we have purchase most of the big items.. except sofa and bed.. for bed wise... we will sleep on mattress on floor first... need to follow the chinese custom of 安床... so not buying it at the moment.. Other updates.. - plastering done... no photos as we are just making the walls smooth... so this is nt very obvious in photos... - hob and hood delivered - toilet bowls to be delivered tomorrow - amcon shipping ETA 21 Dec - wiring and aircon installation is 22 Dec Hope everything will go smoothly..

thank you teegz! we have decided to keep the hob the same height as the rest of the cabinet! haha as we will be installing a glass panel to divide the kitchen from the dining room... making the kitchen look streamline is impt... otherwise it might spoil the look of the house... Also, my ID is very funny... he frankly told me it will not look as nice if I were to lower the hob area... when I told him that I want to keep the hob at the same height, he gave me a hooray cheer on whatsapp... I tot he was so funny....
