  1. You're most welcome. Can always ask the threadstarter(zirhk3355) for more more valuable inputs. we are neighbours so should help each other out and share our experience.
  2. Just wondering if you guy have checked the door hinges at the bedrooms. I thought it'll be better if HDB ppl chisel out a groove on the door frame for the door hinge flush into the door frame. in fact, one of my bedroom door need to be pushed hard in order for it to be closed. haiz... but reno already started. Can i still "feedback" to the building service centre. And Household shelter also cannot close properly.
  3. Finally done up my painting for the hse. now left one last thing which is my kitchen cabinet. Painted my hse myself. hehe.... Here the link to the colors of the room. Here it is
  4. got a question to ask. hecom's storage bedframe. is it good... becoz quite cheap. under 500. thinking of buying storage bedframe becoz of the lack of space in MBR. but will be buying other mattress becoz don like hecom mattresses
  5. i'm currently going thru my reno too. it's good to think ahead and plan for unforeseen circumstances but then if u're so niao on the reno detail then contractor will become niao too. if u're too easy going oso not good becoz contractor will chop u. so maybe practice a bit of give and take here and there. but contract details is quite important in case contractor denies promising give u certain stuffs or not doing to specification or not willing to do rectification. if such case happens then you can still take the case to small tribunal court. but if contract not stated then there is nothing you can do. therefore it's really difficult to be firm and at the same time not too hard on the contractor. as for communication btw, husband and wife. better to give and take oso lor. i;ve been fierce to my wife oso.. needa reflect on myself too. but then sometimes really can't stand questions that are too mediocre. haiz...
  6. mmm... ok. but painting metal surface really need a bit of skill. no harm trying. but once u paint it then it's irreversible. our current gate is smooth as it's powdercoat surface. once u paint it then u can't remove the paint anymore. so think thrice.
  7. think the doors can be painted. just need to use metal paints can liao lor. first apply a layer of primer then another few layers of paints for metal surfaces. but why wanna change the color of our doors. it's really quite nice.
  8. mm... most washers will be somewhere ard 60cm width as for fridge, it can be anything from 55cm-90cm all these depends wat kinda of fridhe and washers you wanna buy. if there's no space constrain for ur kitchen then no harm having a bigger base but if u have a space constrain like mi then it's better to look at the biggest fridge or washer u would want to buy and do a base according to that width and depth. Fyi, most front load washers re 60cm wide. top load varies. buy mostly less than 60cm form under 7.5kg load. fridge depends on whether it's one side open or two side open type. so first aim ur fridge and washer then do the base
  9. really no one bought hecom's storage bed frame?
  10. thanks a lot for the info. will post my photos once it's ready. currently only my tiles are done. will be doing the lightings next week. hope can finish reno in two weeks
  11. hi predaking, got another question to ask. how much did ur curtain **** room cost? it's quite nice.
  12. Hi, predaking... i'm from 308 unit too... ur design is really nice. got a question to ask actually. how ur aircon man run the aircon piping? is it in the false ceiling. becoz i don't see any piping running across living room. our unit has the particular problem of super long aircon piping. currently my hse oso undergoing reno. too...
  13. my opinion is better to get a smaller 1 1/2 bowl sink which is bout 63cm. put it near the jutted out L-shape corner which is width of the kitchen. then washing machine beside the window. then ur cooker near the other side of the jutting wall. btw, are u from unit 308 too? or maybe post ur floorplan. it'll be easier for us to visualise
  14. hi all, just like to ask whether anyone here has bought Hecom's queensize storage bedframe (YBED3BOX6075-PPL) Can i buy any normal queensize mattress from dunlopillo, king koil etc and put it on this bedframe? Wanted to buy this bedframe but i don like the mattress from HEcom or seahorse. so thought of getting other brand's mattress.
  15. I bought the $2 per piece bumpers. seems quite weak though. maybe ot so effective for drawers. Doors still able to close slowly. Doubt so for drawers. Anyway, is the Drawer runners able to fit any kind of drawers i install? or muz use their drawers?
  16. think 80bucks is quite reasonable. normally lights installation $10 Run one light point w/ switch $30 PLC light holder with bulb $14 so your's has bout 2 bulbs so total 10+30+14+14=$68 But then i find it wierd that the ID say it's too small for PLC light becoz it should be able to fit.
  17. does ikea still have stock for their anti-slam drawer dampers?
  18. But i need a fan with lights. can i know wat's the installation charge for fans? becoz i heard from the ppl here that installation of fan need to do balancing else i'll shake or wobble after some time.
  19. haven met any of the neighbours yet. would love to get to know all of you but sunday i'm working. maybe next time join u all.
  20. i went to balestier to look for ceiling fan and was quoted 177bucks including installation for 5blade ceiling fan but can't rem the brand liao. it's considered very cheap rite?
  21. i guess boxing up the pipes is the best bet but need to compare on the price spend on sound proof glass. but the best is get used to it or move to highest floor... Hdb dwellers have such problems most of the time.
  22. i guess besides the water bill, cleaning, leaking. aonther thing to note is the space that bathtub actually takes up. would u have enough space to shower or most of the time u be standing in the bathtub. i would actually fall asleep waiting for the tub to fill up. haha... it's a nice idea to have bath tub but i guess it's not practical. another thing is the safety aspect for elderly as well as kids. you never know when they'll play in it themselves. though most of the problems here could be solved by having a maid at home.
  23. mmm... ok. thanks for the valuable inputs. shall be hunting for my ceiling fan after my reon is almost done.
  24. depends on ur flat is premium, standard or design n built. check for cracks, door functional test, toilet bowls, sinks, househod shelter able to close properly, window handle, mailbox, test every key, switches or even shower head etc... any problem need to report early becoz it'll take some time for them to rectify
  25. i think hafary(balestier oso has some of these type of tiles. for more selection, u can actually go to white horse at sungei kadut.
