  1. Ks & Lfc, I'm not sure if can lower leh, because it's like two lanes converging into one from the casing at the side.. and super bulky. I have no idea why the trunking is like that. I'm using a System 4, so i think trunking from 4 rooms all coming together here in the MBR. Hey fatcat, I think I better move this post back over to my side... It's like totally hijacking your blog!! Sorry, girl!
  2. I'm doing aluminium blinds so I guess that's lucky... aiya.. Hopefully my cats will want to use it as a look out post... The poor things don't have many windows to look out of unfortunately...
  3. Just curious fatcat, where's the location of your aircon now? I didn't know that by shifting the position it'll help with the piping.. Here's a picture of the stupid box - see! So clunky I wanna die:
  4. Kaiser, thank you! Some of these are posters, and some are my own works
  5. Hi LfCat! The compressor trunking in your bedroom is sooo neatly done! Mine was a nightmare -- the bunch of pipes was so gianormous that my carpenter had to practically create a huge "BOX" below my window sill! An eyesore! When I asked the aircon contractor he said that was the only way to do it! I wish I saw your entry earlier....*cries*
  6. Ks Toh, yes yes!! How did you guess? Gonna make the light flash and emit an irritating buzzing noise when guests have overstayed their welcome! Lololol *ok kidding kidding
  7. Here are just a few of the items I have painstakingly collected over time - honestly, I don't even know where some of them are going to go! I just buy & buy & buy, and keep & keep & keep..... Anyone still remembers this skeleton phone? Gonna wall mount it! Some random lamps to scatter around the house.... Nathalie Du Pasquier (for Hay) - cushions. Du Pasquier was one of the original founding crew members for the Memphis Movement. Her specialty was, and clearly still is, in creating patterns! Vintage African tribal wool rug: More Du Pasquier! Placemats from Aussie webstore "Third Drawer Down" - so happy with this, I bought them just after AUD plummeted below SGD
  8. Reiki, thanks for your encouragement! I'm glad you learnt something, and hope more people see the humour in Memphis! It's unfortunate that due to its lack of popularity, accessories and furniture are so difficult to find and the originals are too expensive to own.. Hello! I know color (especially when permanent) is scary to many people - however, you can get around this just by adding subtle pops of color around your home with furniture and decorative items!
  9. Kaiser, your place is awesome-ly done up! Feels so cosy and I can so identify with your marble craving... I saw some really pretty marble kitchen accessories in Crate & Barrel over the weekend.. hope they'll still be there after Xmas. I missed out on CB2's marble wall shelves because I "tuu" too long... now they're all gone!
  10. Believe it or not, I spotted it where I bought my kitchen wall lights, in a box of garbage waiting to be carted out! I asked the guy if it was still working and he said my electrician should be able to hook it up. apparently, they were about to discard it after dismantling it from some factory space. So, lucky Mr Exit-Sign got a new lease of life If you're looking for one as well, here's a website I googled where you can purchase locally: http://www.viclite.com/exit.htm Yes!! because of my tight budget, I was not able to do a lot of the heavy stuff, so the only way I could recreate the feel was through color and form. Having said that, if I had the money I would so love to get an EM, just like yours!! Super envious! lol
  11. Hi ricepapergirl & kaisermisaki, Thank you for dropping by my page where are both of you at now in the reno process? I am hoping i can move in by xmas, but this is getting bleaker by the day I'm afraid...
  12. Hi Bookworm! Your theme is positively delightful, and I can't wait for the wheels to start turning! I bought a tiffany lamp from Bangkok about 5 years ago (there were quite a number of shops selling vintage glass lamps at the night market) and pretty sure it was the real deal! - however, seeing that **** has just been unleashed on the city of angels, I'm not sure you really wanna go there at this point ... Your second best bet would be Ebay, followed by Etsy (genuine stuff but a bit pricey tho..). I don't see why tiffany lamps won't work with perankan tiles - I felt the centrepiece you chose had a great combo of earthy tones. If you pick a neutral shade for the decorative tiles, and avoid going all "Swensen's" on your lamps, I'm certain it's going to look charming!! Having said all this, I always feel that a home should ultimatley reflect the owner's personality - it's YOURS and ought to be uniquely YOU. So don't worry if you think it looks crazy, just go for it! Have a restful holiday and looking forward to more updates when you're back
  13. Hey doubleEM, Thanks so much for sending kind thoughts and good vibes my way...really appreciate! Cheers to the start of your reno journey as well, hope you have a smooth and trouble-free one!!
