  1. Even driving into the carpark is not safe. Last week, when we are returning home in the afternoon, whilst driving along the small path infront of Blk B, someone threw a stone at our car from Blk B. It cost a loud bang and a small dent in our car's side. Even the passerby was shocked by the sound. Lucky it didn't hit anybody or our windscreen, or else, someone is sure to be seriously injured. I came out of the car and found that the stone has broken into small pieces. Why I know its that same piece of stone is because the pieces look distinctly different from the soil and stones around the area. We've picked up the stone pieces and kept it as evidence. Sometimes I wonder what kind of neighbours do we have living around here. I doubt the police can do much about this too.... Probably the vandals in the carpark are people who live in these 5 blocks.
  2. To Tpy... Hahahahaha...... The wrong has been corrected. Jealous loser........
  3. Jealousy at work again? I pity you.....
  4. Why can't some people who don't stay in our block mind their own business? What business is it of theirs to interrupt and kaypoh other people's views, feelings and hopes? Do you gain happiness by putting people down? So what if we are fighting a lost cause? It helps to unite us as neighbours and improve neighbourliness. So what if HDB does not approve? We don't get the access card? so what only 3%? At least it shows there are people staying in Blk 79 who support this notion! I'm very proud to be part of the Blk 79 crowd. We've got greeeeaaat neighbours (and of course some not so nice ones). But who cares? This is just part and parcel of staying in any neighbourhood. What I am glad is that the good ones are cohesive,get-together, become great friends, are concerned about one another and help one another. Maybe there are other neighbourhoods who don't get to see this and maybe they are jealous.... Its ok.... We will understand...... But if possible, do MYOB.
  5. Hi guys, After so long, the vandals are back! My car kena a very deep scratch across the bonnet ard 2 weeks ago. The car was parked on level 1A. I think the Mazda/ Lexus beside me also kena. Mine's a black car so this rules out only silver cars kena. I let the indian uncle wash my car but it still kena scratched. So for sure not the indian uncle. Anymore suggestions?

  7. Hi Tippy Working with Chi Ho has been a relatively pleasant experience. He has been very willing to help and his workmanship's pretty good. When he knows that his dateline is almost up, he will rush for us where necessary without having us going after him. When we have items that are being delivered, and we are not available, he will not hesitate to go up and receive the goods for us. He is also willing to pay for the goods for us if we couldnt find time to pass him the balance payments for the goods. Chi Ho and/ or his project co-ordinator will also go up to the flat everyday to check on works done the previous day. He knows his stuff well as he used to be an architect working for HDB. And even thou' I would bother Chi Ho every day with qns via sms, he will still patiently explain things and situations to me, even thou' it could be the 3rd/4th time that I am asking about the same thing. I would say now Chi Ho is more like a fren than a contractor to hubby and me. And we felt comfy with him the very first time we met him However, things that are not so nice would include if something went wrong (for eg, our light broke during renovations), they will be pretty quick to push away the blame... Well, who's right who's wrong, I won't know coz I was not present. You'll need to be firm about your ideas as well. Hubby and I listened a lot to him with regards to colours and designs and the house turned out nice but not exactly what we wanted. I did not get the aircon from him coz me and hubby think his quote's too high. We used All Best @ IMM instead. And we did not use his electrician as well. His electrician quoted us 2.2k wherease the one that Alister recommended quoted me only 1.4k. Asked for discount but his electrician refused too. However, I do have to say that Chi Ho and my electrician can't seem to work together. With regards to the haulage fees, Chi Ho handled it for us. !! Think it should be inside his quote already coz he did not collect any extra from us and he liased with the sand haulage contractors directly. Well, hope all this info helps. And if you need/ want to go up to our flat to take a peep, feel free to let me know. Reno is not completed yet but all the carpentary should be up by Friday. Washing of the house will be done next Mon and Tues. (^_^)
  8. Aiyoh, talking about the Mac Delivery Guys. I am currently staying with my mum at Blk 183 (the block behind Kfc, facing the mult-storey carpark in TPY Central). The MAc Del guys not only make the loud noises when travelling on the roads, they tend to love to ramm their engines when they are at the carpark as well! Furthermore, they love to have their "friends" gathering at the carpark and make lots of noises. Very much like gangsters. And you guys know what, there was once we gave them a disgusted look when we parked our car after coming home from a midnight movie coz they were really noisy. A few mornings later, there was this deep scratch mark on our car.... We made a police report, but nothing much done anyway.... From then on, don't really dare to offend them coz they know where we live. So I hope if we do write a petition to Macdonald's, they will do something about these 'gangsters'

  11. Hi Alvin I just went to check on the website for flats left in the selection exercise. Looks like there's still quite a number of 4rm flats available. I think you should stand a pretty good chance if you are not very particular on the floor level that the flat is located in. In terms of which block, having been to so many neighbour's flats, I feel that all 5 blocks are great to live in. Each has got its pros and cons but regardless of which block you choose to stay in, I'm sure you will appreciate it for its centralised location and proximity to so many shops and services. Hope to see you and your wife joining us as TPY Blk 79ers soon!
  12. Gadgetman, its a lovely picture. Thanks! I'm sure Christopher will enjoy this photo in the years to come. (^_^)

  20. Dear All The sky garden has offically opened! (The gates were taken down already). Was thinking of a gathering for forummers of Blk 79 since most of us have either: taken keys, started reno/ moved in. I'm suggesting next Sunday (16 March 2008) at 5pm @ the skygarden. It will be a potluck, like wat we did when we met for the 1st time. Then we'll finally get to meet each other and can exchange ideas face to face! What do you guys think? (^_^) Anyways, interested parties: 1) zanie98: Bringing packet drinks (Pls add on to the list......) (^_^)
  21. Wah! I think its a good buy! Does he have 1 more set to sell to me? (^_^)
  22. Hi Gadgetman Yep. The shophouses and flats will never be torn down coz according to my ID (who used to be an architect in HDB), these flats are designed by the chief architect then and will be preserved as part of the heritage buildings. My mum is staying in one of the flats and the plans for those flats are upgrading and building of lifts for the blocks. She's not yet informed of the polling date but it is in the pipeline. (^_^)
  23. Hi Tippy Hmm... If he's bringing you to see one of his projects, then he may be bringing u over to my hse... Coz all of a sudden, his guys seem to be working quite fast to put in lots of things... hehehe..... I think purpose is to show his potential customers?
  24. My flat's a 5 rm flat. And my Id's *****. (^_^)
