  1. Coming along nicely! Can't wait to see the finished home! As to the little calculation errors, I like to think that they are the highlights of renovation. So adrenalin-pumping when you encounter them, but super satisfied once they are fixed... lol.
  2. Yes... white is confirmed safe but what the heck, it's the only time I can design my home.. and like what you say - no risk no gain This blue is call duck egg blue, but no laminates of this sort, guess baby blue will suffice.. ha!
  3. Stubborn me decided to search for colour board of baby blue and red... this is what I found: I showed my ID and he said it's very different from my living room colours of grey / black / wood although he admitted that the new colours will be more vibrant. Yay! Hope I won't regret this!
  4. I go to the website and see the enlarged photo and frame it up in my head... but then again my overzealous imagination also give me countless sleepless nights... lol. Cheers to renovation
  5. omg... I didn't even realise my kitchen windows have the louver windows on top till you pointed it out... ya, my ID will be changing to full casement for me... Monster will be my pièce de résistance in my tinny kitchen... haha!
  6. Lux! Your reno progress is faster than mine!! My ID still trying to cement the wall and next week, plastering will start and tiles laying for my kitchen and bathroom :/ I dun think I can go for baby blue laminate cos I have a bright red monster coming up! Red and blue will clash right? Am considering a really light wood laminate instead for my cabinets now... choices choices!!
  7. Buys from Amazon (part 1): Yay! Stuff are in ;p My cat scratcher cum chaise-longue, wireless motion sensor light, corelle lunch plates, silpat silicon baking sheet, Pure Kai Komachi knife, Oxo wooden spoons and cat litter box... Buys from TB via DG (part 1): Vacuum, pants hanger, steel bin, memory mat and water mop (not in pic)
  8. Yes, I also interested in your laminate skirtings... look so much refined compared to normal skirtings, which i rejected and wanted to go bare.. then I saw yours and it looks very nice..
  9. Nice greys! Looking forward to choosing my shades of grey too Just curious, are you using grey for ceiling as well? Thought of doing so but scared will be a bit oppressive...
  10. Seems like RT is like our weather - getting colder by the day.. ah well, I will still update my stuff for reference to anyone who is interested.. D+7: masonry and waterproofing One week has passed and major hacking is done, excess rubbish cleared and now for the finer art of masonry, which according to the dictionary means stone works or brick works. Uncle filling up the previous doorway with concrete slabs... My horrible wall... the holes are bigger than my pores! An attempt to seal the holes using cement.. See the blue paint-like thingy on the floor? Uncle is doing waterproofing. Very interesting...
  11. I'm still shopping in TB and came across a puzzling thing? Can some experts enlighten me why the same link cost so different when I add to daigou and peeka? Eg 159rmb item translate to S$36 in daigou but S$177 in peeka! Is it cos peeka alr include the shipping fees? Thanks for the advice!
  12. Glass subway tiles! Hve been looking for them since forever... did you get yours in sg?
  13. D+1: more hacking... Opening up the kitchen entrance The kitchen Toilet...zzz I was also given 2 books of laminates to choose what I want for the kitchen cabinets. Recap: stainless steel counter top, glass backsplash. These are the laminates shortlisted: I'm super in love with the baby blues, which I think go well with steel.. my ID will get a heart attack The other choices will be wood.. any comments? The top left is suggested by ID, top right is nice but maybe too similar to my floor tile. Bottom left reminds me of Lyon, and I like the name of the bottom right - Brunello is a delicious italian red wine.. hahaha
  14. Today is D day!! Hacking works starts! Hacking off the wall of one room for a bigger living area. Getting rid of the old kitchen wall tiles. Toilet / kitchen wall... ID says it's a slipshod wall.. too much sand with hollow bricks! Then I asked if it's necessary to rebuild the wall, luckily he will try to patch it up as best as he can... sigh
