  1. Hi Ive spoken to my friend who's selling his B&W. Bear in mind, his M1 is without a sub. Not sure if youre still keen. He may contact u today. Cheers
  2. Marantz receivers are more adapted for music listening rather than movie watching. You could pair it with B&W or Tannoy speakers. Again, its best you go & audition. Cheers
  3. Go & audition this model to have a better assessment. Cheers
  4. Go for Option 2. Then if you have the additional budget, go for option 3. Cheers
  5. If its for bedroom, I would not recommend a proper 5.1/7.1 HTS set up. #1 - There's inadequate room space for receiver & speaker placement esp sub. #2 - If there's too much clutter, eg bed, wardrobe etc etc the audio would not be at optimum I would recommend the soundbar if its for bedroom. Leave the 5.1 in the living room. Cheers
  6. Rear speakers I cannot comment. To begin with, Mirage are mediocre speakers. You can get another pair of matching Mirage speakers to go with it. Which Cerwin sub are you interested? passive or active sub? If its for the room, not advisable to put such a powerful sub. Youre going to shatter more than just mirrors. Cheers
  7. Hi $2,888 is King or Queen size again? I saw this promo at Hn & Vivo Tags but Queen is at $2,888. Does yours come with a bedframe? cheers
  8. Basic receiver but still ok for entry level. Boston A speakers, i suggest you listen to it 1st b4 buying. My advice? - Dump it. Cheers
  9. Where did you see this Sealy Summit offer is at $2,588 for a Queen size? Cheers
  10. #1 question- yes. Upgrade to a better center & yes maybe a Procenter2000 #2 - Ive tried Deftech sub & i find it a bit hollowed. You may want to audition with velodyne or SVS sub (ask KEC to recommend the model) & hear for yourself the difference. IMHO, DefTech subs cannot handle low bass frequency eg motor humming etc as well as the SVS or Velodyne #3 - www.svsound.com or www.velodyne.com Just watched terminator Salvation on Bluray. My Velo sub handled the engine humming really well. Its as if its landing near the open field opposite my block. Cheers cheers
  11. Bro Both Denon & Onkyo receivers are solid. If youre upgrading your Pro800 system, I suggest you also upgrade your CENTER speaker to compliment the superb PtoMonitor series. The center speaker takes center stage in the whole of HTS set up as dialouge comes almost 80% from it. I suggest you go & audition out Denon2310 or Onkyo 7XX or 8xx series & hear for yourself. We cant tell you which amp is good except yourself. Some like warm sound & some like bright sound & some like mellow sound. Its all up to individual's choices. As for the sub, if you have additional budget, go audition the SVS sub or maybe upgrade the Velodyne to the Minivee series. It'll do justice to your system but will create havoc for your neighbors. Cheers
  12. Bro Pro600 at $2.2K possible (own installation). Pro800 package is already at $2.6K. Maybe the Velo sub is a used model. Cheers
  13. Get better Amplifiers like the Onkyo 876 or 707 or the Yamaha 1065, if choosing Pro800. But their prices are from $1k - 1.5K. If not the Pr600 will do the job just fine. You may want to opt for a better center speaker, eg DT's Mythos range. Off peak should be 2pm at KEC. If i have time, I'll pop over sometimes to see what new equipments they bring in & test. Cheers
  14. Krystel Hi Congratulations for setting yourself apart from the rest. I can assure you by investing in a proper HTS, it will do wonders if youre into muisc listening or movie watching. KEC recommendation of Denon 1910 + DefTech600 + Velodyne (I assume its the CHT8Q series) = value for money. DefTech800 offers better performance but you may have to upgrade your receiver. Stick within your budget & get what KEC recommends. Onkyo receivers are solid (not the Mirage speakers) esp the 876, 707 amplifiers. Go on & decide what your ears enjoys. Btw, get a better sub woofer CABLE to compliment the superb Velodyne sub. Cheers
  15. Hahaha Keep on trying & dont give up. Wife+me hunted almost 1 year for a resale unit. Even offered $40K once for a nicely renovated but owner (maybe its the idiot agent) wanted $50K. In the end we found something in between, and the spare cash we had went into giving our place the extra touch of class. Cheers
  16. If they have a sound room for audition & if your ears & wallet agrees, go get it. Cheers
  17. Arcam is good if you have the money. Denon, Onkyo or Yamaha receiveres will do the job just fine. Just ensure the power is sufficient to drive the speakers cheers
  18. Hi If Im not wrong, when i last check the 685s cost about $1.5K a pair & the HTM61 center costs about $950. All without GST. But do check with the B&W distributor, The Experts. Yes B&W is always expensive but what youre paying is definetely worth the investment. Even old models are still commanding high prices. Most importantly, the sound quality is top notch. Cheers
  19. Plasma is only reflective when its not turned on. Having LCD/LED also do not solve the problem as daylight will add to the brightness of the panel. The best is to have more curtains to hide away the sunlight. Or use a divider. Cheers
  20. Why would you want to view your plasma from the sides to begin with? Is the front being blocked? Cheers
  21. The sub will more than enough to compensate any deficiency. Turn the volume lower, you dont want to scare your neighbors. Cheers
  22. Carnival 1,2 or 6? What AVR did you paired with? Cheers
  23. MS is good. Their best selling MS Genie is an option you can look at. As long as you steer away from HTiB, youre on the right track. Cheers
