  1. As again, my usual question, what's your budget? And what HTS are you pairing your AVR with? an entry level AVR will cost anything from $700 to several thousand. Cheers
  2. Amazon dont ship electronic equipments to Spore. Then again you have to consider the shipping costs & getting a step down transformer as US electronic equipments has a different voltage from Spore's. Do audition the yamaha AVR. You'll be surprised. Cheers
  3. Bedroom is best. The worst place for soundbar is the living room regradless how small the are may be. Do a search in this forum about Soundbar deficiency. I still have no idea how the soundbar can "deflect" rear speakers sound effect as compared to a dedicated rear speaker. Cheers
  4. Bro Is your HK 5500 a 6 or 8 ohm receiver? Im thinking u should change your old AVR to a HDMI compliant receiver. Cheers
  5. I paid $999 for it as i had it modded to make it region all for my Blurays. Overall its a solid BR player as it also plays SACD & HDCD. Plus it can upscale my DVDs to make the pix quality look as good as any bluray movie. You may want to consider a plasma if youre into HD format. LED is still new & expensive. Cheers
  6. Bro Have you tried the Yamaha AVR? Its "agrression" should be between a Denon & an Onkyo. No comments on Pionerr but their Plasma TV is a 5 star rating. Def Tech are good system if you like bright sound & its good for movie watching. Cheers
  7. Soundbar is ok for room set up, not for living room. Do you have a budget? cheers
  8. $1,280 is most likely to be ProCinema 60 not 600. But do upgrade the center speaker if possible. Cheers
  9. Bro What AVR are you using & whats your budget for the surround speakers? Cheers
  10. I would recommend a dedicated BR player. For PS3 to bitstream True HD & DTS MA, you have to get the latest firmware. If you have the spare money, get the OPPO BDP83 Bluray player. Its by far the best (& expensive) BR player currently. As again, BOSE stands for Buy Other Sound Equipment Cheers
  11. Bro Firstly I have to congratulate you for getting such a great combination. The CHT8Q is a fantastic sub that can handle low bass. Watching movies will be an entire unique experience. Enjoy it!!!! You do have a bluray player rite? Your Yamaha amp have YPAO function. It can auto calibrate the acoustics per your room dimension. Make sure to do it at night when its absolutely quiet. Cheers
  12. Bro The center speaker i would put a 40% importance as most dialogues derive from it. 30% weightage goes to the sub. Its ok to get the nano but upgrade to a better center speaker. Cheers
  13. Bro Thumbs up for u!!!! Which Velodyne model are you getting? Minivee? Yamaha amp is good enough. U getting the RX765 or the 1065? Cheers
  14. Bro, have u audition Mirage or Nano before? Personally, the sound emitted is quite weak. Vocals/dialogue (center speaker) are not so crisp. Mirage do shipped their parts to Singapore? Cheers
  15. Those who are procuring quality speakers, kindly refrain from buying cheapo brackets. Sanus & Queenie are reliable brands & i will certainly vouch for them. Not sure about Ikea but buy them at own risk. Cheers
  16. Best Denki & some AV shops at Adelphi & Sim Lim Square. Just go & ask around. Cheers
  17. KEC @ Adelphi do sell & there's another shop at Sim Lim Square. Cant remember the name now.
  18. Try it & find out for yourself. If u use Wharfedale, you wont go wrong anywhere. Cheers
  19. Good on u bro!!!! Which Velodyne sub model which was recommended? U didnt ask Clarence for a further upgrade to the SVS sub ah? Go Deft Tech or Wharfedale & you'll have my stamp of approval. KEC dont sell B&W anymore. Cheers
  20. Bro U have to ask yourself why u like the Jamo HTS so much? Is it for the looks, budget or sound (highly doubtful)? If its for the looks + budget, then you might as well go for Samsung or LG HTiB. They are cheap & have very chio designs What's the point of having an exotic looking, wife approved HTS but sux in the sound department. As for me, my wife has no say in the HTS choice becoz Im paying for it & we get to enjoy it together. At 1st, she was sceptical as Im spending quite a bit (about $10K) on my HTS & looks bulky. But after the system has been incorporated into our home, her friends & colleagues are simply wow-ed by it. Even my neighbors are enquiring my assistance to help them source a realiable HTS for their home. Btw, I am NOT working in the HTS industry. Im just more than happy to help those who wants to start off an entry level HTS into their home. Jamo? No good. I trust my ears & i trust my friends who once owned jamo before. Do audition other brands before finalising on Jamo. And do go check out other shops besides Harvey/Courts/Audio House. Cheers
  21. Good one bro. Def Tech was one of my earlier HTS system. It was amazingly good for watching movies esp action packed ones. Sold it when I was posted overseas. No regrets on this baby. Cheers
  22. Think I met that old guy before. His customer service response = ZERO. Look for Alan or Clarence (the boss) Cheers
  23. Bro Visit Adelphi. You'll be surprise by the price & range. Some shops, like KEC, do offer installment payments. Cheers
