  1. I have something like this in mind with the shoe cabinet: http://renohdb.weebly.com/blog/archives/11-2012 Spaceman & Smootree both sell European space-saving furniture that look nice but they are expensive. Our local Hidden Wall Bed (HWB) has lots of videos on Youtube. I am not sure about their prices but their furniture seems highly customisable.
  2. kyooko - Get your point about the kitchen flip table. Thanks for pointing it out. At least, I got 2.5 years to figure how to squeeze the most space out of 45 sqm. My BTO is supposed to be completed in early 2018. Any opinions on how feasible it is to convert the recess wall (beside kitchen entrance which houses the circuit breaker) into a shoe cabinet and display case? Shoes have be stored sideways.
  3. I'm also waiting for my keys. It's a long wait. mmoh - Thanks for the link to the blog. I applaud the writer for taking the time & effort to write up his/her reno experiences. kyooko - One space-saving idea is to install a flip table along the length of the kitchen window to function as a workspace or dining table.
  4. The primary purpose of integrating both schemes is to make SAs more attractive to senior citizens. I hope that HDB can also give singles a chance to apply for 2 rooms / studio apartments in mature estates which have not attracted any buyers.
  5. Not sure if I am going off topic - I wonder how we are affected (if at all) by the upcoming integration of the 2 room and studio apartment schemes. (http://business.asiaone.com/property/news/studios-2-roomers-come-under-same-hdb-scheme)
  6. Hi mmoh - When lounging on the seating or opening/closing the storage space, curtains at the sides might get in your way.
  7. mmoh - Very beautiful and practical bay window set-up. It will make a great visual impact once you upon entry to the flat. The 2 wooden side panels can be used as cupboards too. I personally would change the curtains (draw sideways) to blinds (draw up & down).
  8. I have no choice with the saving-spacing furniture as I expect my dad to stay over sometimes. As for pricing, the sites for Smootree and Spaceman indicate that it is in the region of a upper 4-figure sum! I am comforting myself with the thought that if I bought 3 or 4 separate pieces of high quality furniture it will cost just as much.
  9. Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome. Details of the talk are here http://eventscalendar.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10341p.nsf/0/1D1738E073F67DDC48257E600031F8B8. Alternatively go to HDB home page and look for Events at top of page. Storage heaters are installed in the service yards of bigger flats, right? For 2 room flats, I think you can only install in it in the bathroom above eye level. To maximise space in the bedroom, has anymore considered a multi-functional murphy bed + desk + cupboard combo. I know it can be very expensive.
  10. New to this forum. So glad there's something for 2-roomers. Also glad I am not the only one bothered by the layout of the 2-room bathroom. Going for a home design talk organised by HDB at end of this month. Would try to seek advice on how to re-configure the bathroom layout then. The bathroom in Property Sense looks very posh although I am not into the design aesthetics of the rest of the house. I do really like the design of a house at Apartment Therapy (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/jacksons-ipad-pad-small-cool-219788).
