Hi Raymond, Because our sliding doors are made of solid-ply wood instead of ikea's chipboard. The sliding doors feels heavier and more sturdy. See whether it is possible to drop by any of your short-listed contractor's customer's house to try out their sliding doors to see their quality. Due to the size of BTO bedrooms, it was more practical for us to do sliding doors instead of fitted wardrobe doors. Some things we looked out for when doing our wardrobe 1) is the brand of laminates which they are using. Preferred to be "branded" so the laminates can be more lasting. 2) having "AA" track for our wardrobe shelvings so we can adjust the height of the shelvings to accommodate our possible future needs 3) any limitation to the number of drawers for wardrobe Two of our bedroom wardrobe has 3 tracks, the 3rd track is for the full height mirror.

Hi cinnamoroll, Yes, our MBR TV feature wall is using the same laminate WY 5217D (Hermes Marcello Walnut). We are using WY 5214D (CAVALLI VIOLA NOCE) & WY 4232X (PEARL AKEMI ASH) for our living room display cabinet

Hi t13488, PM send for ID contact. what I understand from lightings.com.sg is that the new generation of Philips T5 sold locally has a different connector head. http://www.shopled.philips.com.sg/bulbs/trunklable-batten.html https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=523188997136&toSite=main

Hi evangel, PM sent. Yes. Our fan is from Malaysia and we don't have any wobby issues Not sure if the hook is different from Singapore as we did not buy the aeration ae3 fan from Singapore before. So have no means to compare.

Hi teegz, apologies for the late reply. Amazon's Free AmazonGlobal Shipping does not apply to items larger than 18" x 14" x 8" or over 20 lbs. (About FREE AmazonGlobal Shipping) As the APEC RO-90 product dimension is 15 x 7 x 18 inches and weight 11.8 pounds. It is just slightly over the free shipping requirement. Thus I wrote in to amazon to "appeal" for free shipping and amazon was willing to waive off the shipping charges. Amazon really fulfil their vision to be "earth's most customer centric company"

Our tidbit corner in a blum tall unit beside the fridge Our beverage drawer at the bar counter at our dry kitchen area

Hi teegz, You are most welcome. Some people who has a double basin kitchen sink fills up one side of the sink with hot water to wash them and use the other side to raise the dishes. We feel that APEC is really worth the money since the filters are all Made In USA and it cost only a faction when you compared to the 5 stage water filters sold in Singapore. Our plumber even commented that that the water pressure from the APEC is really strong and good. Now we just drink directly from the APEC tap as there is no longer a need to boil water before we drink. The taste of the water directly from the APEC tap is great as well.

Hi teegz, Thanks for the compliments. Yup. You are right, we asked the plumber to lay additional piping from the Gas Heater to the kitchen mixer to provide hot water to the kitchen mixer So that we can have room temperature water and hot water for the kitchen mixer. Refer to Post on Day 19 (15th Jan 2016) (Plumbing) As you can see from the picture below, the cold water has one more outlet which is the "red" water pipe to supply water input for APEC filtration system.

Hi koxxic, You are right, the works for the LED strip is part of the electrical work cost. The brand is Aeratron and the model is AE3. http://aeratron.com/ourrange/ P.S. its a few hundred dollars cheaper if you are able to buy the fan from Malaysia (e.g. S$819 compared to RM1588)

Day 81 (17th Mar) - Bomb Shelter Rack Bomb Shelter Rack Did some research and "bump" into bomb shelter rack offered by Yee Sin (http://www.yee-sin.com) which 1)i feel is most worth the money as the rack is able to occupy the entire length of the bomb shelter 2) No obstructing corner joint 3) Cost is $280 Another competitor without centre obstruction pole cost ~S$149 (1350L x 460D x 1830H) + S$149 (1350L x 460D x 1830H) + S$60 = $358 but it does not occupy the entire wall length of the bomb shelter.

Day 80 (16th Mar) - Painting / Mounting of Display Cabinet Glass panel / Curtain Installation Painting Today is the 2nd day of painting touch up and the painter done up kitchen / service yard / bedroom 4 and living room Chalkboard paint for the area above the settee is done Display Cabinet Glass panel Initially the plan was for Glass contractor to drill holes onto the cabinet to fix up the glass panel but he worried he might damage the carpentry so he recommended the holes to be drilled by carpenter instead. So the carpenter helped to drill and get the glass panels in place. Master Bedroom TV is is also mounted by Carpenter Curtains Curtains are being installed in the evening by Vincent Living Room Bedroom 4 Bedroom 3 Bedroom 2 Master Bedroom

Day 79 (15th Mar) - Painting / Mounting of TV Today is the first day for painter to touch up the whole house's painting. By the end of today, he managed to complete 3 bedrooms. Very happening day today, carpenter helped us to drill holes for wall mounted TV. But because the bedroom walls are very hollow, he suggested to drill deeper and when he did for bedroom 3, it penetrated the wall for bedroom 2. Painter is going to jump tomorrow when he see the hole tomorrow coz he just completed the painting for this bedroom today. So got no choice but to use a smaller size wall plug in order to secure the tv wall mount bracket So moral of the story, cannot use a big wall plug for newly built HDBs. Recently heard that the walls for the new Sengkang BTO flat near Sengkang MRT is made of partition wall instead of solid cement wall. which makes it worst if want to wall mount TV as it means that there will be a need to build re-enforcement first on the wall before TV can be mounted onto partition wall. Side track a little bit. Finally able to take some photos of the tv feature wall after the fridge is shifted to its intended area instead of in the middle of the living room.
