After much reading of reviews and testing, I went with Dyson! Its only been coming to 3 years but my Dyson still cleans with the power it did on the first day. There was even once when I did not empty the bag for almost 6 months and it did not affect the sucking power. FYI, we vacuum around twice a week in a 5 room HDB. Even if this eventually spoils ... I am sure I will stick with Dyson. Dyson ... it really SUCKS!!!

I spent a little under SGD 50K for all the reno. A little exp as I literally redid everything, from tiles to paint to everything. My contractor advised me to install 2 heaters, so I dun have to run the pipings between the 2 toilets.

Yeah ... I always love the white and black theme. Even my car now is in black and white. Its easier doing furniture shopping too. Does this come in black or white? If it doesn't ... then too bad ... The only places where I may worry about children would be my coffee table. However ... as its tempered glass and rounded all all the corners ... its not that bad. I got the toilet bowls as they were simple and they were also soft close ... which I am trying to maintain in the entire house.

I've got a good buddy of mine who is into advertising materials. Gave him my soft copies of the photos I wanted to enlarge ... and he did it for me. He enlarged it and pasted it onto thin arcylic boards. Then I mounted it with screws that I drilled onto the wall.

The wc isn't very much more expensive. However the bathroom fixtures were. I installed 2 storage heaters for both toilets.

Sorry for late reply. Have been a little busy and was unable to take more photos. Will do so once I have the time.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about Lifestorey. Excellent delivery, punctual and professional. You're in good hands with them.

I have. Tried them out at several places and decided on Grohe. Grohe stuff are made around the world, and yes, some are in China. But so is Hansgrohe. They too have a Shanghai, China Manufacturing Plant. Minstrel, I hope you don't think I am trying to rebutt your every sentence. Just that different people have different tastes / opinions. I may be really really weird, but I actually prefer Grohe designs over the Hansgrohe. Sure, there are quite afew Grohe designs that I think looks really bad & cheap too. But I was looking at Rain Shower Heads along with the concealed mixer, and I liked the Grohe better. The Hansgrohe ones were also very nice, however, their mixers looked very much smaller. I didn't wanna get a Hansgrohe Rain Shower Head and a Grohe mixer. I wanted stuff to match ... so I went with Grohe all the way. In some cases, 'More Expensive' may not equate to better. Probably not in this case either. I am also pretty sure if one googles Grohe thoroughly enough, one would be able to find horror stories. Even despite some parts having 'cheap plastic', I feel that Grohe's Lifetime Warranty assures me enough. I like them both.

Actually, Hansgrohe was started in 1901 by Hans Grohe Sr. He had 3 sons, one of which had left in the 1934 and started his own company, Grohe. The Grohe company came to the USA as Grohe America. The Grohe America company had received technical updates from Hansgrohe while the son's family had owned it. Now, Grohe has been sold away. However, Hansgrohe was got bought over ... by the Masco Group ( holding majority share ). Here's some short forum discussions over both brands : http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/bath/...3241132498.html http://www.terrylove.com/forums/showthread...2714#post102714 Like I said, I believe both brands are good and you can't go wrong with them.

Hmm ... I bought mine like 2 months ago. Was there last month too. Price must have just gone up recently. Well ... at least its still cheaper than the other places right?
-
I think their webby prices not updated or not accurate one. I was there not too long ago and it was still SGD 120 plus leh.

The store name is called Price Mart. Tel : 6334-0014. Hope this helps.

I bought the one with white border and black face. Was also trying to find a cheaper price. In the end, I found it at Sunshine Plaza ( near to Parklane, the one that sells good fried wantan noodles ). It was literally next to the famous wantan noodle stall ... Level 1. I bought it for around $125 or something like that ... comes with a very friendly chinese lady with free batteries too!

Stylish Dustbin Or Rubbish Bin To Put At Home. Where To Buy?
JIN replied to Megadeth's topic in Home Furnishings
I got mine from Homefix at Thompson. I think its around 149 or something like that. Oh ... 1 more cool thing about the Simple Human. I put mine literally flushed against my kitchen cabinet and it can still open fully without worrying about the lid being blocked by the cabinet walls. Go to this site and clicked features ... it will explain about its invisible hinge technology. Something like the lid will open with its hinges inside the dustin rather than the normal ones where the hinges is outside of the dustbin. Picture speaks a thousand words ... just click on the b/m site and then click on features. http://www.simplehuman.com/products/trash-...ectangular.html Nope, am not am employee of Simple Human. Just very impressed with their build and quality and am trying to share them with every new home owner. -
Stylish Dustbin Or Rubbish Bin To Put At Home. Where To Buy?
JIN replied to Megadeth's topic in Home Furnishings
There are a couple of $50 versions. But those are really very small and not suitable for kitchen use, perhaps for rooms only. I believe the smaller ones also don't have soft close. I believe the Brabantias are more more expensive than Simple Human. -
I would recommend you to perhaps relook at increasing your budget for your Home Theater System. I understand that everybody has their own budget and constraints. However ... for home system ... go cheap on cables, wires, they will be your weakest link. And all these will be installed inside your wall already. I went with Onkyo and got the 7.1 channel. Yeah, very few output actually supports 7.1. However, it will be very difficult for me to re-run my cables all over again for additional 2 speakers in the future. There may be unslightly cables / casing which will spoil the whole flow of the house. I will also recommend you to at least look at something with HDMI. Do not have to be incredibly hi-end stuff. Just that soon, almost all devices will be pushing out their best via HDMI ... and it would be sucky if you just bought something that cannot support HDMI.

I would recommend specifically the 25 litre version of the Simplehuman series. Its just nice for normal NTUC plastic bags ... not too big or too small. I bought one for myself a month ago, then one for my buddy for his house warming and they loved it too . -
HDMI is the newest / latest type of cable now. With just 1 single HDMI cable, it will carry both the video and audio signal. Currently, it is the best form of media in / output. Please note that there are various type of HDMI cables around. From the branded ( Monster / QED / Blah Blah ... ) to those very cheap ones. There are also various versions ... latest being HDMI Version 1.3. No point to get the HDMI V1.3 if your other items ( tv / player / amplifier ) are not HDMI V1.3. Unless you really want to futureproof your purchase, any variant of the HDMI is fine ... the shorter the better. The lousier cheaper quality ones normally loses its strength through longer distance. So if the distance that you need to connect is like only 1 meter ... please only buy the 1 or 1.5 meter version. I will also recommend Sim Lim if you wanna go cheapo. Unless you have a full HD display that is capable of 1080P, then go cheapo. Also make sure that your whatever you want to connect should be pushing out 1080P. If you want to connect your DVD player but its not 1080P capable ... then there is no point of getting a good HDMI Cable either.
